Well this is a brilliant song and any other year it should have, and probably would have, won, but are you serious that you don't remember the winner Conchita with Rise Like A Phoenix? I think Eurovision were intent on making a statement that year and a very important one too, as Conchita was fabulous and very important in many ways but this was, in truth, even better.

Our dog was suffering from multiple diseases and we knew it was time to put her down. She couldn't stand, breathe and drink anymore. It was raining sheets while we were on our drive way to the veterinarian and suddently this song started to play in the radio.. we hugged and kissed her and she gave every single one of us a last deep look letting us know that it was alright. After she peacefully passed away in our arms it suddenly stopped raining and the sky turned blue again while the sun gleamed through the clouds. Although you're gone your spirit will always remain here with us. Thank you for 16 beautiful years Daisy ♥ We love you!

I love this song! Top 3 definitely.
One of the very best songs of the last decade in the festival. I remember how terribly underrated was when it was revealed just because it wasn't the typical eurovision song, but at the end it became a classic. I loved it from the 1s time I listen to it and I still love it, is nice to have a country like netherland sending real music every year to the ESC.
Austria only won because they wanted to send a signal of solidarity with a minority. The real artistic winner is the Netherlands with this song.

I kinda changed my mind about this song. At first I didn't get why they would choose this song for the songfestival, thought it didn't really belong there. Like a lot of people say, it's too good for the songfestival. But now that I see how people in other countries are reacting to the song, I see why this song is indeed good. The common linnets are really talented, we all knew that, and it's really about bringing over the emotions of this song. I hope they get to the finals, that would be nice :)
