- Ayrshire consists mostly of retired pensioners and people on benefits too broke to go to Blackpool so they go to Craig Tara instead. Kilmarnock loves pies and celebrates Killieween which is a week before the actual Halloween. Our national poet, Robert Burns, was born in Ayrshire. Other than that, it is an incredibly dull and drizzly part of Scotland.
- Dumfriesshire and Galloway is a medieval fantasy game IRL. Goblins, elves, castles. Great for history geeks. Home to warring feudal Border Reiver clans who held more loyalty to kin than country. The borders is where the Lowland Scots language developed and split from Medieval English. Probably the most underrated and distinct regions of the country. Most Ulster Irish have ancestry from the region because of the plantations so there are a lot of parallels between the two.
- Fife is the redneck county of Scotland, everyone makes fun of them for being inbred, poor and backwards. The one exception to this is St. Andrews which is very posh and has one of the best universities in the world. So on one side you have some of the roughest, downright depressing towns in the whole of Britain such as Glenrothes and then contrast to a beachside paradise for poshos who want to larp that they're in Harry Potter. Also Kirkcaldy loves ice hockey. (Stars are still better than the Flyers)
- Forth Valley sits at the bottom of the Highlands. Lots of castles and rural views. Stirling is one of the best places in the country. Quintessential Scotland. Haven't really been to this area much but it truly is stunning.
- Glasgow is the largest city in Scotland, in the middle of the Central Belt where most Scots live. It's considered a bit more working-class and rough than what Edinburgh is. A lot of drugs and crime going on. It was considered the industrial heart of the British Empire. Glasgow has a large immigrant population. Weegies tend to forget that other places in Scotland exist too. Wouldn't choose to live in Glasgow personally but it's alright.
- Greater Glasgow has Renfrewshire. Paisley is a cesspit full of junkies who haven't washed since the day they were born but towns like Renfrew are alright.
- The Grampians has the Balmoral estate where the royals live. Most towns here are very dull and Victorian. Literally the only reason Aberdeen is rich is because of oil. Without it, they're just sheep shaggers. + everything is grey because the entire city is made of granite, making it the most radioactive city in the world. Might explain why they love sheep so much.
- Highlands are self-explanatory, think of the stereotypical biscuit tin image of a Scottish person and this is it. Pretty much a fantasy land. Every "1/26th Scotch-Irish" Americans wet dream idea of what Scotland is. Wait and see their disappointed faces when they arrive at Glasgow airport.
- Lanarkshire includes Glasgow but also towns like Motherwell, Coatbridge, Greenock, Airdrie, Hamilton etc which had a lot of coal mining and steelmaking industries. These have since dried up and now it's a wasteland. Only time I ever go to these towns is for football away days + even then it's dire.
- Lothian (Edinburgh) is where all the rich middle-class left-wing hipsters live. It is the capital of Scotland and if you want to live there, it's gonna cost you an arm and a limb. Edinburgh feels both culturally and socially separate from the rest of Scotland but the same could be said about every capital city. Loads of historic architecture, dumb rich tourists and snobby posh hipsters on £80k a year salaries wearing flannel with man-buns eating vegan artisan pastries. North Berwick is alright I guess.
- Orkney is Viking country, it was gifted to us by the Norwegians in the 1600s. Same goes for Shetland. They aren't really Scottish and there have been separatist movements to join Norway or go independent themselves - which is ironic given we're also advocating for independence, so it's an inception of separatists. + Shetland has these cute little ponies.
- Outer Hebrides has the most Gaelic speakers per capita in Scotland. It is where the language originates having being brought over by the Gaels from Ireland. Only 50,000 or 1% of Scottish people speak it. The area itself is rural and idyllic, mostly home to boomers who raise the housing costs and gentrify the islands.
- England.
- Tayside includes Dundee, Angus and Perthsire. These are mostly post-industrial dumps that got "regenerated" AKA gentrified and pandered to hipster tourists who want a day-trip from Edinburgh to some small town. The V&A is probably the biggest waste of money I have ever seen. Town centre is dead by 8 O'clock and junkies are everywhere. Angus (the best county imo) has a lot of nice places worth visiting including Arbroath and the Glens. But avoid Forfar and Coupar Angus - despair await all ye who enter.
Broughty Ferry isnae Dundee btw, it's a suburban commuter town like Carnoustie that steals the wealth out of the city itself. Could go on forever as it's my hometown but I've got nothing good to say about it. Dundee is a dump and deserves to be bulldozed into the Tay. (also the song is by The View, a local band)
Great summary, that
Ya didn't have to go that hard. But you did and for that I'm thankful
Highlands is my Jacobite wet dream
You have no idea about the Highlands.
@@3991-m6u Only ever been twice and down the bottom-half. It's not an area most city-dwelling lowlanders visit, mainly because it's so rural and isolated. Unless you're hiking or going to Inverness then there is little reason to visit the northwest of Scotland.
Love Scotland from France 🇫🇷❤️🏴
1:30 Thank you for adding my research into this video! For context about Tayside, the black-haired boy in the red- and- black-striped sweater is Dennis the Menace, star of a nationally popular British comic series created in Dundee which is in Tayside! Grand Theft Auto (one of whose protagonists, Carl Johnson, also appears) was also created in Dundee!
Dennis and Gnasher used to be shown on American TV 10-15ish years ago, I didn't realize it was the British version of Dennis the Menace. I was always used to the American version, who's blonde and wears different color stripes and overalls.
Dundee hasn't created anything new since the '80s. It's a dump.
@@moblinmajorgeneralit's no the "British version" it's a totally separate thing that coincidentally has the same name. it's very strange haha
actual only thing to happen in dundee for the past 40 years is got a higher drug death rate than glasgow@@TheMiniMaestroMan
@@coolfunnymanbobux8724 And the highest teen pregnancy rate, crime rate, suicide rate, poverty rate. Voted worst city in the country many years in a row. Amazing how a "beacon of industrial renewal" could still be so grim.
Why is Dumfries and Galloway accurate god dammit 😅
Should’ve played Calvin Harris for Dumfries and Galloway
1:00 ooooooooh so thats were the football club from Edinburgh got its name from
Its the heart or center of the middle part of the county Lothian.
Now it all makes sense now.
There is an actual heart on the royal mile that locals spit into for good luck - you can always spot scots and geordies because everyone else finds it a bit disgusting but us people local to Edinburgh don't!
I love Scotland from California USA 🇺🇸
Libertarian georgian mind wonder which one hav dankula
Based highlands vs cringe lowlands
Lols 😂
Says the guy with rule Britannia on his profile

Highlands are truly the best
True but wait until the English people in caravans invade
Highlands are definitely the best
Love the detail of Glasgow encompassing the entirety of Scotland
BAHAHAHAHAHA TOO TRUE
I love Scotland from Italy🇮🇹❤🏴
dont
@justaguywithapowerpole Womp womp.
0:57 As someone from Edinburgh, this is really accurate!
Greetings 🏴
He missed Argyll and Bute
So Edinburgh is in Lothian yeah? Sorry, silly Irish girl here a little confused by the geography 😅
I think you should add some context (maybe in the video description) so that people from outside the countries you're talking about can understand what's it about
Love scoutland from Kazakhstan 🇰🇿❤️ 🏴
Scotland is better than England.
SCOUTLAND FOREVER!!!!
I’m so fascinated by Scotland, love the history and the vibe of this country 🏴 ❤🇺🇦

Love Scotland from Canada 🇨🇦 🤝🏴
can you do wales and England separately please? also it might be helpful to do the English regions separately too.
I was thinking of talk about my home devon but im curious as to how different your representation would be to mine.
Alba Gu Bràth! I'll be in this beautiful and noble country from January and onwards. Greetings from Turkey 🇹🇷❤🏴

Con el video me dieron ganas de visitar Escocia👍
0:39 you’ve done Aberdeen so dirty but at the same time I can’t help but laugh 🤣🤣🤣
YOOO FRANZ FERDINAND
GOOD JOB BRO
I need to go to outer hebrides!! In my city we love scotland so much even our football club have blue and white colors because the founder was scottish, love from Spain
Just a recommendation from an islander I would recommend Harris or Uist over Lewis if you’re going on a short holiday or going camping
To visit Scothland the one of my dreams❤️
your dream is shite then
If only Tayside was reality! Sadly never once seen any guys looking like left there, really it's more like Grampian but without the oil...
Escocia tiene las mejores bandas y música del mundo 🤟🏴
As a Fifer I rate this videoa mel gibson/10
muy bueno, saludos amigo, ten un buen finde.
Ah, thank you for the tiny map, it really a helps give perspective!!
Fucking braw, nice job man 💙🏴
This video shows you that most of Scotland really has no idea about the Highlands and reverts to the usual BBC tier stereotype. Glasgow and Glasgow city get separate entries yet the entire Highlands gets lumped together...
You have missed the point I think mate
Technically Glasgow is Glasgow
But greater Glasgow can include many other areas some that are actually a good bit away from Glasgow proper
East Kilbride , Cumbernauld and other parts of Lanarkshire
Some of these places only use a Glasgow postcode G30 ,G47 G52 etc
If you are Scottish then I didn’t mean to sound patronising
But hey I don’t know wer you are frae
That's more the fact no one fucking lives in the Highlands anymore.
I wish i would marry a scottish women😅
If I were a geograpghy teacher; I would just put these region of Europe videos on and teach the kids that way.
My beautiful Scotland 🏴
Very good and detailed, can you make please one of regions of England now? will be interesting see the memes of kent
So good as always you gotta make a Danish one💀
As a Scottish person this video was very funny and accurate. I’m only a tad confused about your use of different forms of administrative and elective regions in Scotland, I feel as though simply using Scotland’s 32 council areas would’ve made more sense. (Please don’t take this as criticism though this is a very well made video 😊)
I love Alba/Scotland. God bless they,Amen
Love Scotland from the United Kingdom 🇬🇧 ❤🤎🏴
Scotland seems like such a fascinating place to be just to seclude oneself and think about God and the World. Love from Germany
Yeah try secluding yourself to think about God and the World on a Saturday night in Glasgow
Fife is accurate lmao
It's sort of like closing the barn doors after the horses have bolted, ey?
Munitions and guided missiles are made in Glenrothes and sold to Israel lmao.
@@TheMiniMaestroManaverage Glenrothes activities
Pretty interesting to see the flags of Orkney and Shetland are closer in resemblance to Scandinavian flags than the rest of the flags.
Im impressed that this channel knows hellripper.
Wasn't expecting the photo for greater Glasgow to be the bridge round the corner from where I stay in Paisley 😅Great video! Though was kind of disappointed there was no one for Argyle and Bute.
Great video!! :) please consider doing the british isles! 🇮🇲
Freedom 🏴 🍺⚔️🗡💪
Can you do English counties next
As a highlander I love your depiction of the highlands in this video and I’m so glad you used an image of glencoe (can’t really tell if it is glencoe but it looks similar enough) imo that’s the area that captures the beauty of the highlands the best and all the over highlanders can go suck it cause I’m right
Props for Hellripper reppin Grampian, but how the hell isn't Fife represented by Party Cannon?
Why are all the people rooting for independence speaking Spanish?
Of what difference is it to you ?
@@bobbyscott2123 I think it is strange how people on the other side of the world are trying to influence matters on this island.
@@hugepumpkin8094Because there are many countries having a territorial dispute with the United Kingdom, such as my country 🇦🇷.
(I suppose you know what that dispute is about)
VIVA LA INDEPENDENCIA, QUE VIVA LA REVOLUCIÓN, QUE VIVA ESCÓCIA 🏴
@@omessiasdogol Your dispute is claiming a set of islands with people that want to remain British and have shown that many times should be colonised by your country. I understand Argentina wants to get land to build up national pride but the people of the Falklands want to be British and so you have no right to take them, and therefore you shouldn't hate on our country as we only want to protect our people. Also, you guys are the only people with a dispute, apart from Mauritius claiming a tiny coral atoll and Ireland claiming a literal rock in the middle of the Atlantic, so that is no reason to explain the hate all these Spanish speakers are giving to my nation.
INDIA PLEASE 😢🙏🙏🙏
don't lookup caithness whatever you do.
It's insane how accurate this is
Make ICELAND pls!!!!
I'm American of Scottish descent on my dad's side, never been to Scotland before but would love to visit someday! I might have a bit of trouble understanding the accent though, especially if I went to Glasgow
Lots to thicker accents than Glasgow my friend
I was born there not far from the city centre

You should use the actual counties of Scotland.
Could you do one about the Indian provinces.
Lanarkshire (0:51) is just missing wind turbines in the background.
FINE! You win! I'll visit shetland!
Sad you didn't include Nairnshire, but then again it's basically just one town then a selection of endless farms
Dios permita que Escocia se convierta en un país independiente
Algún día 🏴
Much love 🏴
The fact I recognised the Fife photo too damn
can confirm as a fifer, it’s shite here 💀
Pls make Australia
Lanarkshire 💙🤍
I wanna live in Scotland
Should have used 'Always Argyll' as the theme of Argyll and Bute. It's the ancestral home of the clan Campbell, one of the most prominent, powerful and influential Highland clans in all of Scotland. There are still noblemen who carry the title of chief to this day. The county flag is based off their coat of arms crest, Inveraray Castle has been their clan seat since the 18th century and there is even a town named after them. There is a pub in Glencoe that refuses to accept anyone who has the surname Campbell because of the Glencoe Masscare. Long-story short, Jacobites and Loyalists hate each other and the Campbells and MacDonald's have had a feud with each other for centuries. Places like Oban are absolutely beautiful.
Angus is also quite a unique area. Arbroath, Forfar, Montrose, Carnoustie, Monifeith, Monikie, Glamis, Kirriemuir, Brechin. I love this county. It has a very flat south because of all the farmland and huge glens to the north. Loads of traditional architecture you don't tend to see in Dundee. We call them teuchters lol. Strathmore is in the eastern-side of Perthshire and includes loads of wee cozy towns and villages. Coupar Angus is where my great-grandfather lived. There is a fish and chips shop called *THE* Chippy, the only one in the town. To really enjoy Scotland, you have to get out the city. Sure, they're fun for the first few days but then the bad parts start to ruin the fun. We have some of the best countryside that the world has to offer.
Thank you I hope that you can do England and Wales counties too :)
Hungary please 🇭🇺 ❤️
Wish I could move back up to the highlands again
Escocia Independiente y Soberana Carajoooo

As someone who formerly lived in Glasgow, this is very accurate.
after this Indonesia
Living in Tayside - yes, I am all three
0:10 Galloway has no Irish heritage and even little gingers. 0:28 it’s not the 30s, razor gangs aren’t a thing and no idea was the wojak in the fleece is supposed to represent. 0:33 greater Glasgow is old people and council housing, not “trad” country girls and Chad Celt warrior types. 0:52 coal was last a thing in the 60s. 1:33 don’t even know what to say about that…taysides LA?
Glasgow smile is still a thing and Tayside is where GTA was made.
