Ah yes because no one brings him up in the conversation of the greats... This is only the second special of his I've seen after finally taking the plunge but even I, a retarded nobody, have heard his name get brought up for as long as I can remember when that convo came up.
That beheading video bit is the first time I’ve ever heard a comedian say anything that actually pissed me off. I’m one of those people that is constantly ripping on people for getting offended and that one got under my skin and pissed me off. Weird.
@@michaelvaughn-walker5783 Joe Rogan just has a sort of mob mentality about comedy. Don't know if you were a fan of Ope & Ant, but listeners will remember he had this beef with Carlos Mencia that sort of brought out the worst in him in this regard... He's on such vastly different platforms in such vastly different roles, that he pretty much functions more as a hype-man than an arbiter of good comedy (or common sense, honestly). He did have a point though, people who steal jokes seem to just be allowed to get away with it, and people with a public presence should be encouraged to point it out when it occurs. Nobody else seems to do anything about it. Awesome and original set by Stanhope, as usual.
Screw Joe Rogan. His lies and conspiracy theories are FINALLY catching up with him. Sadly, he already got his $millions. He doesn't care. He was always an ass. Life seems to reward the a-holes.

Doug will be one the sickest but BEST COMICS IN THE WORLD. I saw him in Cincinnati several years ago, crushed it and glad I did se him. Not sure if you'll ever be back. Glad you stopped by.
True. Stanhope's brilliance extends to his wardrobe. He carefully cultivates his image in that he seeks a specific look for his standup clothes: he said he scours Goodwills seeking to complete the suits he adds to his wardrobe. The bit is (naturally) hilarious but I do NOT recall where I heard it.

The camp 1 camp 2 gig really highlights his storytelling ability. The way he constructs a theme and makes you think around it is unprecedented outside of very few comedians. He also works towards the punchline phenomenally well when you're not expecting it by easing you into a conclusion with his slow and sloppy delivery.
Him never blowing up because he's to raw and refuses to change any of it makes me respect him that much more. He could be up there with Carlin, Burr and Jeffries but his sticks to his guns and thus allows me to be informed about how he helped his mom killing herself 😊❤
I learned about Doug by listening Bill Burr monday morning podcast. Doug was a guest in one of the episodes. I can see where BB gets some of his inspiration, this is golden.
