    Wishlist Brother CS6000i - rstyle.me/~31bYO
    Fabric used is from www.siebrenmode...
    When I travel I like to maximize on the style and minimize on the quantity and weight. But as a woman I'm sure you understand that packing lightly was a difficult task because I wanted to have a piece for every occasion and don't forget the matching shoes! lol
    But who said that you had to have several clothing for different occasions whereas one could also do the trick? Hence why I came up with my DIY Once, Wear it Multiple ways tutorials. Let's sew something great with minimum effort but with a maximum of style. Enjoy!
    What you'll need:
    - 1 yards/meter of stretch fabric (mine is from www.siebrenmode...)
    - thread
    - fabric scissors
    - pins
    - sewing machine (I use Brother DS140 rstyle.me/~2ieBk)

    Totally diggin' on this tutorial! I'm going to be doing some travelling and this will be perfect. My only problem is that I am rather short and scrawny (5' 1" & 100 lbs) and "normal" size scarves just engulf me. Can you give me an idea of how much I should cut down the length and width so I can rock it without getting swallowed by it? Whenever I try to calculate such things it always ends in tears. Many thanks & all my best!

    • @joycy
      @joycy  7 лет назад +1

      +Gj Thelin hmm 🤔 try using a tank top
      1. Fold it in half - that's the length of your scarf
      2. Width = your tank top width times 3.
      Let me know if that works!

    • @pixling
      @pixling 7 лет назад

      Thank you so much! I'll give it a try. I truly appreciate your help.
      Cheers!

    • @pixling
      @pixling 7 лет назад

      Hello, again. May I bother you 1 more time?
      I am ready to make it and I *think* I have it all set up right but it would be really swell if I could be able to double check the measurements before I start cutting.
      Would you mind if I asked what the length and width of your scarf is when laid flat - and your height and shoulder to shoulder measurements? (if that is not too personal) I figure that way I can at least try to check your ratios with mine.
      I am truly sorry if I am being a pest and do appreciate your input.
      My greatest blessing (and sometimes curse) is that I am mad creative. However, I also have a condition which makes things like spacial information all Greek in my little head. So figuring the technical aspects of projects will often take me more time that all the rest of making something combined. Oy! 😐
      I truly envy (in a good way) that you are able to pull off both so beautifully! Thanks for sharing your wonderful gifts with all of us! 💖

    • @joycy
      @joycy  7 лет назад

      Gj Thelin no worries. I honestly dont know the measurements as I made the video 3 years ago. All i did was fold 1 yard of fabric and sew the sides. Use a cheap piece of fabric first and if it works use the pretty fabrics. Dont make it too hard with too many calculations. The more mistakes the better because you can only improve from that point on 😗 let me know how it turned out! 🤷🏽

    • @pixling
      @pixling 7 лет назад

      LOL. Good advice all 'round. I do kinda tend to freak myself out with these kinds of things. I sometimes get a bit paranoid because if I had a nickel for every time I had to run back to the store after I thought I had it all perfect - I could have bought a beach house in the Caribbean years ago. Seriously, I need to stop and think which is my right hand and which is my left - and i am really not kidding about that.
      Now, I just have to figure out where I put the box with all my fabric scraps. 😁 Thanks for the wisdom and the reality check.

    What kind of fabric do you use? Do you use the same type of fabric for most of your clothes? Where do you live? I only ask as it always seem nice and given the type of fabric I see in the videos, the weather must also be pretty consistent. Thanks in advance!

    • @joycy
      @joycy  9 лет назад

      yvette joy Harris 99% stretch fabric for the clothes I make lol.
      I live in Holland. And no the weather changes all the time. Mostly cold but I dress like it's Summer :D
