I was here (only once) for a walk with my husband. A fond memory. I don't like the area much, it is more for a younger crowd. But we find a nice and cozy pub and the walk was really nice. Thanks for reminding me :)

Thank you for posting your videos. My grandfather moved from Malta to Nova Scotia Canada when he was 18, where we now live. I got to visit Malta once and can’t wait to get back. It’s much colder here than in Malta and i would dress like that for 0 degree weather

Interesting video. The dark green bus was a Valletta-Sliema route bus.
I'll make a comment about the lack of traffic too, and the lack of people and on going construction work. It must be very hard for a lot of local businesses and their employees.

I loved that walk Steve 😊 We had a walk down at Portomaso marina last month, then up past the Dragonara. Ended up in St Julians at one of our fav pubs, The Sun in Splendour. Great for just sitting and watching the world go by. Thanks again for sharing 👍

Hey Steve , aw I loved this , was a walk down memory lane. Iv stayed in st julians many times , and at that hotel you pointed out the Juliana, beautiful hotel. Nice rooftop pool to have cocktails and take in the view .. You looked like you enjoyed your snack 😋Oh and you had mentioned the blue elephant, I had a great night there , the food was excellent.. you make me want to come back over after watching this ✈️ ☀️💜
Yet another interesting stroll Steve , much to my dismay that part of the island is where I only ever `passed through` on the bus going into Valletta , maybe next time eh .
That was a magic video, so many memories around there, stayed 1 night in the old dragonora palace befor they built the Westin, had a meal in Porto maso( buffalo Bill's,)few years back. There used to be a nice bar right near where you walked at the end of video and it was always busy busy also good food called Dicks bar.

Yes st George and Balluta bay both very small st Georges was successful enlarged no so Balluta never been to buffalo bills , nice to hear from you

Mandalay Road was the lane down to the Church and to the Rob Lido.
My ex husband went to school at Luqa and lived in Malta with RAF dad. We visited on holiday in 1989, 1991, 1994, and 2004 . We stayed in st julians at the Dean Hamlets, and San George apart hotel (not a good choice) but the area became too loud all that neon, then st Paul’s Bay at the Santa Maria Hotel the last time. But it has changed so much and I’m going back this year to Sliema. Your video shows how much it has changed. My ex was Welsh and he continued to visit his beloved Malta until his death and you sound a bit Welsh. My favourite part is Valletta and Mdina

Great video Steve. I’m booked in at St Juliani in Sep and stayed in St George’s Bay a couple of years ago so it took me back to good times. Really looking forward to exploring that area more and to your early morning video in Spinola Bay that you mentioned. Have a great weekend!

Love that area albeit too busy for a retired gent. Bet, even that "Dwejra" you pointed out (with sea views!) would be worth €1million 💵 😂. The area has changed so much - that used to be mostly vacant land in front of the Casino arch. OMG 🏢 🏢 🏢

Great walk steve, I stayed in St Georges Park in St Julians in 94, it looks like it hasnt had much done since 1994!
Thanks for the long walk, so quiet along the way, Paceville looks very nice, we got some training from Hilton Hotel way back before going on to Germany to work at Munchen Hilton,some nice Yacht’s on that bay, some rich people around there, lucky you missed that car that may of hit the wall, you got yer food eventually and looked tasty.
We’ve driven around and around St Julians and Sliema many times looking for a parking space Steve 🚗😆 Will bear the park and ride in mind next time. It’s just a bit of a trek when you have little legs with you. Not mine by the way, I mean Phoebe’s! I will be giving the rabbit video a miss Steve having had house rabbits for most of my life 🐰☹️ So would appreciate a warning for it if you do go ahead as I wouldn’t want to click on it and watch by mistake 😭 The kiosk you bought your food from was the first place we ever tried Pastizzi from Steve, and I think we also sat and ate ours in the park! 🥟 We always used to stay in St Julians. In fact we have stayed at the hotel you pointed out a couple of times too - the Hotel Juliani 🥰
Park and ride its in the title 🤣🤣 No need to walk there is a regular bus service to many parts google it for info park and ride pembroke...might do a video think many people don't know about it !
I remembered from my time in Gozo in 2009, that they are farmer huts, that farmers used them to get shelter from the hot sun. I did forget what they are actually called, as I do most Maltese names that are not easy to pronounce.
It's so strange to see the roads so not busy, I remember a traffic nightmare in Pembroke, so dangerous when there are way more cars in the road.
I have never had a spinach Qassatat before, I think that I have only seen them at Maxims
that round stone built shelter in the fields is called GIRNA.
It's the Hotel Juliani - I've stayed there a few times. Excellent hotel. Love Spinola Bay and Portomaso Marina.
Yes, I’ve been there, back in about 2006. Apparently Sean Connery had an apartment there, along with other movie stars who also had a place there! A tax write-off, I suppose!

Hi Steve, nice walk, glad you took the less travelled road. Steve when you have a traffic accident in Malta do you still have to wait for the Police to turn up, make sketch then the Sergeant has to turn up and sign the form in the mean time no one is allowed to move the cars ? or are those good old days over 😁👍👍👍👍
We have like traffic accident wardens, same thing, except bumper to bumper and then you both sign a form and go
