You’re allowed to change your mind as you go along mate. If the start line and the journey are what gives you inspiration to start with, then half way through your inspiration becomes the goal line that’s absolutely fine. It’s your journey and you do what inspires and makes YOU happy. Life’s a journey and we learn and adapt to the circumstances we find ourselves in. Thanks for sharing.
One of our dearest friends, who used to be so strong and active, is now losing the use of his hands, after his legs became useless, due to ASL. My body is strong, but chubby. I've started to just be happy about the body I am in and what we can do together. Every day is a blessing. (Haze, you would have adored hanging with him.)
Never know where my life is going, but with a planned hike, camp I know exactly where I am because I know where I’m going.. My judge-MENTAL self is clearly waking up… We are all special with no judgement 🙏❤️
This post is first class. 1. There is a reason why you are ‘film maker of the year’….this proves it 2. You have ‘self actualised’ ….as this video is your BEST EVER 3. The Lake District is unrivalled as the best place in the world. Why, because it’s accessible, not like places like Niagra Falls or places Eygpt, or places in the outback, where you visit and go back home 4. When you come down from the tops, your into beautiful villages 5. Some of the views in this video was unreal. Chis Bonnington verifies this, as the views from Castle Crag are the best in the world. 6. Locks and latches content is fab. Well done mate.
All groovy Hazy, as you genuinely forgot your gloves to begin with, so they would have been with you from the start anyway, so destined to be onboard throughout 👍
It’s amazing don’t you know? He visits in the place of a loved one, That sadly had to go. He comes to show they miss you, Just as you do them, And they too, long for that day, That you shall meet again. They’re by your side forever more, And that will remain so, So they send a little robin, As a way to let you know. A Visit from a Robin - Author unknown
@@HazeOutdoors I'm so sorry to hear that, hope the robin means a bit more now. I lost my dad 6 months ago and my mum 4 weeks ago. I don't have any words really other than thank you for just being you and for what you're doing. I've been here for the long haul but only just spoken up. Keep going matey, you're amazing and you mean the world to so many folk xx
Regarding change of kit.... To be honest we all know you'd get by with original kit list... But I think where safety is concerned as in severe verglass on tops then to not adapt would seem ill conceived... But I understand the conundrum
You earned the magazine win Haze, it wasn't a popularity contest. You walked over sharp rocks barefoot to raise awareness and money for mental wellness. You have always used your channel to remind people that nature heals, and you have shown us such beauty. I can understand that you wouldn't want next year's contest influencing this year's content; but, don't let anyone tell you, you didn't really win. You won, because you make content that matters.
Cracking vid, thanks for taking us with you. Next to that large rock on the path where you were 'stick or twisting' about laying down your head for the night was where I camped on my coast to coast. Happy memories. Cheers.
Magic Haze! Those landscapes truly are a sight to behold, love how whilst it's agricultural land, it doesn't impede on the land itself unlike here in Ayrshire. That patter with the auld lad was brilliant and there were some Haze classics in there too (Lan-shat it 2 has to be up there). Looking forward to the next installment :)
Famous Mr Haze, BBC Travel article 14th March 2023, "Why Bushcraft is booming again". RUclips doesn't allow links. "One example is Paul Hayes, christened "Ray Beers" for his humorous outdoor videos featuring wild camping, spear fishing, beer reviews and heartfelt monologues about the healing power of nature." Nice recognition and appreciation of your channel and background work to make it work. Time traveller too. Had to check todays date vs article by date.
As someone that also suffers with their hands, I would highly recommend the new sealskinz gloves that are convertible into mittens. Unless you're planning on plunging your hands in water you never have to take them off. Sorted me right out when I did a load of hiking/camping in Scotland over Christmas.
Brilliant stuff as always Hazey! I looked up your man on the boulder plaque - Gordon Hallworth. He was a 21 year old student at Manchester Uni in 1939. He was out with the Mountaineering Club on a winter weekend break when he got into trouble with a couple of friends. The bridge marked on their OS map had been washed away some years previously and they didn't know another had been built nearby as it was dark and their torch had failed. Trying to find another route in the dark and icy conditions (compounded by falling in the gill at one point adding to his hypothermic state) his friends had to leave him sheltered by the boulder to get help, but by the time anyone could get back to him he had died. Sad tale but love me a bit of history!
Love your videos. I’m going to do a long distance hike this spring/summer not decide when yet. You’re videos are class as they give a good insight into what lies ahead but I need to experience it. I can’t wait. Thank you for the videos.

34:30 me and my friend went camping in wales and spent a night in forest of dean on way there, we arrived when it was dark and raining so were hasty to find a suitable pitch spot. unbeknownst to us the one bit of flat ground we set up on also turned out to be a trail which we discovered in the morning when a dog was sniffing outside our tents lol. the people that walked through our camp were very understanding tho and we set off

Spot on Paul, very nice views and what a lovely place. Snow stopped play for us this weekend had a couple of nights wild camp arranged in the van but had to abandon. Will reorg for this next week after another crueler at work which always makes it worth while and the run to the hills Friday straight after work. Keep on enjoying pal you get some amazing feedback on here so keep up the good work.
Enjoying watching this trip buddy , I've also just read a bit on BBC travel I think it was about the resurgence of bushcraft including an interview with the one and only Paul Haze , don't let the fame change you lol

Just a quick suggestion, Map time to the music from Tony Harts - The Gallery.
So beautiful!! If you snuggle up with your batteries in your sleeping bag at night it helps them last longer but you probably already know this. X
