Ed Witten commented about the smoothening effect that inflation had in the early phase of the expansion of the universe.
The problem is that , for inflation to start , one needs extremely low entropy at the begining!
I think that's the issue that R. Penrose pointed out.

Professor Penrose has the best illustrated POV and therefore the best choice for observation devoid of obfuscating labelling.
