I've just done mine for the first time after 21 years and 300,000klm.
The adjusters were still working perfectly and the shoes still had at least half their life left.
I do 4WD from time to time but not a lot of mud work.

My haynes manual says 69nm for the axle retaining nuts, not a bad guess at 60👍🏻

Is the hole you said to put the spring in correct? The spring is too long for that hole. No tension. 🤔

At 12 mins 20 seconds there is a small clip on the adjuster thread, that the mechanic says these can go flying, I re assembled my brakes and had that piece left over haha, should I pull the wheel off and install it or will it be fine till next service when I can re install it??
