- In this video, I share how to easily make this DIY pinched leather earrings with a Cricut Maker. It's easy to cut faux leather, cork, and genuine leather on a Cricut Maker and on a Cricut Explore Air. There are so many great genuine leather and faux leather colors, textures and patterns. Making DIY earrings is a great Cricut project idea.

Great video! Just getting started with making leather earrings. For the oval jump rings, would you use 6mm as well? I didn't see the link for the jump rings. Thanks for all the awesome tips.
Yes. 6mm is a good size. If I'm working with thin material, I sometimes use 4mm. Here is the oval jump rings: amzn.to/3hqzNHb
The back piece you said is 1” wide by 2 1/2” long. What are the dimensions of the 2nd piece on front?

Thank you for the video! What size jump rings did you use? Maybe you mentioned it and it missed it.
I'm pretty sure these are 6mm. Although this genuine leather was actually pretty thin so I may have used 4mm. I use the smallest I can for a tight fit. Usually the thickness of the two materials drives me to a 6mm.
Which Cricut machine would you suggest for a beginner?
Hi Amanda. The Cricut Explore Air 2 is perfect if you'll be cutting paper, vinyl, and other basic materials. It even cuts faux leather and basic genuine leather. If you're wanting to cut thicker leathers, certain woods, etc, then you'll need to go with the Cricut Maker. One isn't harder to use that the other so you'll want to go with the one that cuts the materials you want to cut. If you can afford the Maker, I'd probably go with that one so you'll have flexibility as your needs change. amzn.to/3lZ5cU4
Why not let the holes in the design and have the Cricut cut it?
Not easy. The ring can pop back up multiple times. I finally just put a solid ring to hold it.
In my opinion, you do really need a bigger jump ring . Just saying!!!!!!
