This video is so good...hope you can turn it into a podcast...even though there are no tutorials or much images in this video but it felt like high level discussion...yes a 'cool and warm colors ' theories and explenation would be amazing...im still a beginner and i undertand that green blue are cool while red orange are warm..but then we have red that is cool...here i loose track with relaity lol...thank you so much for this u are both awesome artists..
Great blog both of you! Here is my question: How can you both talk for an hour and not touch your wine? LOL My real question: I have seen Cornelia post images from Procreate that isolate colour/values and show them. Would you recommend this technique? I will still try and become familiar with the isolation card technique, BTW.
4:50 This makes sense to me. I think it might be simpler to convey to someone in a way more like a venn diagram, rather than a pyramid, which can distract people conceptually with a notion of vertical layers or a chronological order. (value(color))
I thankful for Coronavirus because it gifted us your channel! Haha thanks Stephan. I very would like to see a tutorial about oil paint color mixing\matching and most important, controlling those colors on subject to give form. I can give really good form on graphite but i can't follow the same thing on oil painting. I wish you could demonstrate an example about this. Thanks!
Hi Stephen, i heard you say something about that you were studying in Sweden. Im very curious to know where? Im in Sweden, and are looking for a good place to learn traditional art. Love you artwork. /M
Hi guys, thank you so much for this video. I have a question, where this "visual isolation device" comes from. I'd never heard of it before and it looks like H U G E help. I'll make a couple for me first thing in the morning.
This was excellent! Thank you both!
Sometimes... colors is intuition.
Intuition that based on understanding the fundamentals and a lot of practice.
Very much appreciate this in-depth conversation about skintones. Thanks
Happy to help!

I think it’s a great technique to learn and if it resonates with you and your process I think it can be very rewarding!
Hi Ronald, what is this technique you are talking about? I've tried to search after this images/cards but couldn't find them. Thank you

I like that diagram idea, and simultaneously admire the effort necessary to make a venn diagram via keyboard illustration!
@@stephenbaumanartwork Hah Thank you Stephen.

There are full demos of painting on my Patreon page if that is what you’re interested in.
what happened to the other episodes?
Will it be available as Podcast (not RUclips), Steve?
Great job, by the way!
No audio only option yet. We are still working out the format etc. and we're more comfortable with audio/video just now.

Not sure the origins... It's kind just always been around throughout my education. Glad you like the idea!
@@stephenbaumanartwork Sorry, would you say that is something very old or not that much?
