Ike is the biggest waste of talent in boxing
I'm impressed, i seen so many heavy weight fight but this one is different from Ist round to finished i seen no hugging and holding to both fighters. A good fight to remember. But i think Tua won the fight in my own opinion.
According to compunox they launched 1,730 punches which equated to 48 punches a minute, incredible
Incredible stamina!
Tuas legs hold all the power. The size of those calves when he pivots and throws a hook is so savage.
I know this was a fast edit but no clinching? Thats amazing for the heavies to go that many rounds. Tua looked so composed the whole fight, shame he lost really
mans was never the same after this fight with Tua
Ike averaged 81 punches thrown a round. Tua threw almost 62 per round. That’s insane conditioning for those giants.
Ike missed 80% of the punches thrown
@@craigwatson921 he still won the fight
With both men having granite chins, I feel like Ike’s biggest advantage was 4 inch height advantage and 6” reach advantage. They were both the same caliber with Tua being a slightly more technical and skilled boxer IMO. Both had awesome punching power so the fact that neither touched the ground is incredible. This is on my top heavyweight fight list for sure.
One of my favourite fights of all time. The stamina and chins of these heavyweights was insane. To bad Ike was mentally deranged. Sad story.
Both of those men deserve bonuses just for enduring all of that.
Love Tua would of been beautiful to see all the belts strap on him ❤❤❤
This was a great fight and I love the way Ike listened to his corner and glued that right glove to his ear to block Tuas vicious left hook. From what I understand David was not in top shape for this fight but still dangerous. Anywhoo whoever wants to see a great heavyweight fight look this one up.

Ageee with. Both are beasts. Had Tua by a slight margin on this fight
Not in shape and averaged 60 punches a round. You must be joking. Tua lost fair and square lke outhustled him. This is one of the best heavyweight bouts l have seen l admired both boxers but David lost a very good bout.
@@keithcampbell6806I agree with you
It was close but Ike definitely won this fight
Two of the best legitimate heavyweights that no one ever heard of. Both those individuals we're straight killers of the highest order.
I did not see Tua lose that fight...
I agree.
I think I see what you mean, the win seemed controversial. Kind of like Muhammad Ali's controversial win over Ken Norton who continued to claim he won that fight.
Tua lost dog
@@AngloSaxon-yx8tkexcept that Ken did beat ali more than once but got cheated.
Common sense, didn't his trainer tell him not to stop fighting? all pro sports are rigged to make money.the odds were against Ike, so the win for lke made people lots of money, big money.just like Tyson lost to buster Douglas
So glad I discovered your channel, I really love the way you present these fights and your narration is top notch. 😀✌🏻
I remember that dude back in the days. I wanted to live with his fam just for a month so I could be big. Samoans are different types of beasts hommie.
Still till this day they hold the Record of most punches thrown which is remarkable
This Era of boxers is so much better than what it is now
I can't imagine any of the current HWs standing up to either of these 2.
He was nuts before he started boxing. Ticking time Bomb 💣
This was one of the tougher brawler matches to happen in the latter era of boxing. I could seriously feel each of these punches. Monster contest.
Discovered your channel, the narration, research and presentation is fantastic. I remember this fight , it was a great HW battle. Both fighters were tough as nails and were landing bombs. I do recall thinking Tua won what was a close fight. I really liked David Tua back then, he was a warrior and fought Lennox Lewis later in his career who gave Tua his 2nd loss. Ibeabuchi did finish his short career undefeated and who knows what he could have accomplished in the ring if not for his criminal behavior due to obvious mental illness.
I was on the same ship as one of Tua's cousin. Dude was a chief petty officer. Had a picture from David signed to his cousin. Nice guy. Looked liked.him.
we love tua in nz still
Imagine walking into the toughest bar in town with Mike Tyson on one side and David Tua on the other; who's gonna mess with you?
