Great review Jim! I had no idea about this product. I definitely need this. Sounds like a good deal for the price! Thanks for the great video and the link. Hope you and Michelle are doing well, have a great week!
Thanks, Paul. This charger/case really surprised me. It’s one of of those products that you never knew you needed! Doing great here, little worn out from working on the house. Getting too old for the 32’ ladder!
Thank you for the review. Would you be able to tell me where you got the three headed USB-C charging cable, or what it is called? I have been trying to find something like this for a while, but everything I find have a mix of different connectors rather than just USB-C. Many thanks.
Here's an Amazon link (non-affiliate) to that cable: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08GY7FBHZ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I did review the cable and a different non-charging case in an earlier video. Hope this helps, and thanks for watching! ruclips.net/video/wTKTMaLJ7gk/видео.html
To be clear (and, don't feel bad. None of the videos I've seen on this charger answers this obvious question), can you really use the ZGCine ZG-R30 as a carrying case in that the charger stops charging the Go's inside so that the charger is not going to run down while the Go's are inside? Also, the button... it appears to be, thought no one said for sure, merely a switch for the LEDs on the front and has nothing to do with turning charging on or off? I mean, can you load the charger and immediately double-click the button to turn of the LEDs because they are only indicators and have nothing to do with turning charging on or off, correct?
Thanks for watching and commenting. When the case is turned off, it stops charging the Go’s batteries. When the charger/case is turned on with the front button, the Go’s all light up and start charging. As to if the Go’s stop charging when full, that’s a matter of the Go’s, not the charger. There should be no difference if they are plugged into the Zgcine case, or a cable and a brick. I may do a follow up video after a few months of use.
The Røde units are intelligent and stop accepting a charge when they are full. But, just like I wouldn’t leave them plugged in to a charging brick 24/7, I’d turn off this charger when they’re full. I am going to keep an eye on this unit and my “Røde Blocks” as well. It’s a really good question. 👍
BUYER BEWARE: I thought this was the best idea, but twice now it’s caused me MASSIVE grief by flattening the receiver over night the day before a LiveStream. I check it is off then in the morning it has flattened the receiver completely. Its ONLY job is to charge the WG2 and recently it caused me massive grief on a large LiveStream. It should have protection against flattening devices. You can have a receiver turned off, put it in the case, it turns on automatically and then charges but when finished charging it stops and overnight the battery in the receiver goes flat… shows over… as a 20+ year veteran photographer/videographer… my advice.. just use the charge cables…
What do you think of this battery case for the Røde Wireless GO?
Wow!I also want to buy one. This is a disruptive product. Thanks Jim
👍
Great Video, James, thanks for sharing
Thanks Tony.

Interesting, I may have to purchase that also!!
I like this case… but no storage. It is smaller (!) than that other zipper case.
That’s a nice tidy wee charger. Great review
Thanks 👍
Looks pretty cool.
Thanks. I’ve been using it in the field. Works great.

Great questions, BTW.
@@VintageInsightPhotography that makes sense. Thank you.
Is it going to over charge and damage units overtime tho?

Good points. I’ve gone back to using the cables too. I prefer carrying the Røde WG2 in the grey zipper case I found on Amazon.
Lol. Dead mice, dead voles maybe 🤣
