    With the V-bar chin up is adding the leg lift for ab work or just to mix it up with sonething different?

    For the Wenning Warmup, would you recommend slowly increasing the load used over time? Thanks!

    Do the upright row with a wide grip: no internal rotation forces and no pinching of the shoulder joint as long as you dont go higher than parallel = no shoulder pain

    • @williamlawlor7445
      @williamlawlor7445 9 месяцев назад +3

      If an overhand grip is used your already internally rotated. Upright is a horrendous exercise. It jams the the head of the humerus right up into the roof of the shoulder squeezing the shit out of tendons.

    • @k4s461
      @k4s461 9 месяцев назад +2

      @@williamlawlor7445 If you only go up to parallel the humerus doesnt reach the roof of the shoulder joint. That is what I meant by no pinching. With an overhand grip you have some kind of internal rotation but as long as you stay in that exact same angle by gripping wide and dont go higher as parallel there are no significant rotational forces on the joint.

      UR's built my shoulders into cannon balls but with the caveat, having performed them like bodybuilders in 80's mags, of destroyed joints. Along with behind the neck presses my shoulders now at 56 are paying the price. I do want to re-incorporate uprights in the correct manner as described, wider grip and only to shoulder parallel. With the aid of rehab exercises, which I'm definitely slacking in, and peptides like bpc/tb500 they have gotten better to the point dB presses don't hurt as much. Wenning has hands down the most informative strength training channel on YT.

    I usually find, like Matt here, that after an exhausting set of 20 on the bench, incorporating a pause helps me squeeze out another 10 reps.
