I’ve been teaching 20 years and I never have thought to make a video of myself going over the beginning of the year procedures! I love this. No more having to repeat myself 22-25 times the first week...yay!!
Hi, Chealsea! Thank you for posting this video. I am a new music teacher this year in Dayton Public in Ohio and I have been having trouble with setting my classroom expectations. I will be using some of your ideas to make sure my students are having the best time possible. You seem to be an amazing teacher. Thank you for what you do!
Thank you so much! Feel free to message me on IG if you ever have any questions. I also have a full video on here about my classroom management and behavior routines! :)
Thank you so much for showing us what you did for your video! I'm a brand new music teacher and I love this idea! I'm going to make my own one. The kids will love hearing from a video and it will save my voice that first day! You're awesome!
@@TeachinginPearls Can you also tell me where you got your classroom MUSIC rules poster? I'm looking on TPT.com and not finding the same one you're using. I like how the letters of MUSIC stand out on yours and the simplicity of it. Thanks.
Wow!!! Never thought about making this type of video!! Definitely doing that this summer - especially with COVID going on. It’d be nice for them to know my expectations😊
It's really convenient and the kids know how to use it well. I am going to remove the "boys and girls" labels for next school year though and just use one :)
Yupp! First through Sixth are very attentive the whole time. It is still too long for Kindergarten to concentrate on, so I am pausing it and doing activities in between chunks! One of my first graders asked me if "the lady can see us" lol and another asked "where's the camera?"

It gets so tedious! Then I find myself glossing over some of the instructions because I've said them so many times!

How did you get your boomwhackers to stay flush against the wall?
Velcro strips!
totally gonna do this next year!
I love this! I am brand-new to elementary music. Where do you get the sit spots?
they're polyspots and I bought them off of amazon! :)
I think this is what I want to do with my life. I love kids and I love music.
What type of rewards do you give to your students?
depends on what I can get on sale or get for free! stickers, erasers, notebooks, pens, mechanical pencils, sometimes candy or chips etc!
tq pearl watching from Nepal greetings from NP
Where did you get your MUSIC acronym paper?
teachers pay teachers, about 5 years ago! :) I think I searched "music rules"
@@TeachinginPearls That's cool!
Have you gotten a good response from the kids showing this video?
