Hi Becca! A little confused about Poison--so you pick a pattern to be Poison, show them what it is? (how--demonstrate? notated on the board? both?) And then go through a series of patterns (body percussion) that they repeat (like Simon Says), and throw in the poison pattern ? If they repeat it, they are out? Is that the gist? Just trying to picture how the game flows, it sounds super fun!
Yes! I pick a pattern, write it on the board and we practice it a few times. Then I say, "Don't ever do it again!" after that, once the game starts, they repeat everything EXCEPT that pattern.

Unlike in schools where you the teacher are in this dilemma of meeting the needs of the children and playing along with "the man" and having to take grades and data, summer camp is less of that being controlled by "the man" and more about what works with the children so yes there you go with teaching summer camp. If I could have been a fly on a wall I'd bet that those campers loved you. - Dwight
