Very informative vid man, thanks :) bit of a silly questions now though, is there a way to go about making a time stamp or a clock to pop on your screen? or hell a bloody mini map mayhap? btw subscribed.
How do I pause this event, which by the way I love and am using right now. I would like this to continue when I'm inside a cave, or structure, or I'd like to pause this event and have it start at the same point when I come back to its map.
TTstudioFilms Oh, thank you so much for the help. I've been asking for assistance on the RPG Maker.net community too. I really appreciate all the help. It's a great day/night + weather system. I love it for what I'm using it for. Just simple enough to execute, but interesting enough to use and even play with if I need to. I'll be sure to credit you.
+Nicholas Phillips If you have it start at the same point in time as when you entered it then it would be like time stopped while you were inside the cave. It would make sense for the time to have changed a little. If you want it to be maybe dark when you exit just delete everything before the first dark. Idk if this would work but I bet it would
Hey how come the picture shows up at the left corner but covers up the actual game like --- layer of game --- layer of pic the pictures overlaps the layer and u can't see behind it how do I fix that?
Ariesta Dwi set a parallel process event that removes the picture for the sun. You could put it on the door transfer event or inside the building as its own event.
Can you give us the picture of the sunlight? Coudn't find one. :< It is a nice tut but whenever i enter a building .. it still rains, etc lol *Sorry my english is not the best*
Hello, I watched your video which has been very helpful. Just wondering where you got the sunset animation at because I'd like to use it. Please and Thank you.
+Married Man Gaming Ha ha ha, sorry, I don't even have Facebook. Not too much into the Social Media. RUclips is as far as I go. I have a email address you can send it too. I'm sure I can private message you my email address.
Alright, I love the simplicity of this day/night system, but what I can't figure out is how to add a sort of time-lapse system on top of it. For my game I need the character to be able to sleep at night if the player decides to, but I can't figure out how to get the day to reset if they do... little help maybe?
You can make it so, when night occurs, it will activate a switch. Then you can change the event that allows your character to sleep and make it activate only when that switch is on
You will need to place the events on each map. There is probably a script out there that has day/night cycle for every map without eventing. I'm not sure how that would work for interiors though. On that note I'm not sure I mentioned it but when you enter an interior you will need to set weather effects to none as well as sfx and set the screen tint to normal.
+Married Man Gaming Thanks man. Should I put Erase after the Set weather effects to none? And yeah I am up pretty late. Where has rpg maker been all my life (T_T )! ty for fast relpy.
It's got it's hooks in you has it? That's awesome. You can use erase event or leave it as it. Either is fine. I'm pretty sure erase event removes the event until you re enter the map.
I didn't know you could implement weather and day/night effects. That's great.

I love this tutorial, thank you very much for it! It helped me a lot!
using this in rmmv thanks so much, really gives it a loz feel.
Awesome video and tutorial it helped me out a lot, thanks Toby.
You're welcome. Happy to help.
@@TTstudioFilms can you do a tutorial on how to get the time and steps to show in the menu screen?
@@hazelsoftincgamesholdingsco That would require some programming and I have no idea how to code lol.
@@TTstudioFilms someone told me you can use variables but I and not good with that stuff.
@@hazelsoftincgamesholdingsco perhaps. You can call variables in text but not sure how you would do that within the menu.
Why doesn't my RPG Maker VX ace have the "Dark" tint button on my tint setting? It just has sliders....
This was super helpful for my game, thank you so much! :D
Sampai That is for watching. Glad it helped.
this is really neat
Thanks! Very useful tutorial :D
Oh never i shoulda kept on watching. thanks for the
video you got a sub.
+Alex Vue Thanks! I appreciate it.
Would you be able to set up visual filters for multiple times of day (Dawn, Dusk, Sunrise, Sunset)?
Sorry is this is a stupid question but how did you make that raised bit of land on the island? I have MV and can't figure it out
There are specific tiles that can be placed to represent raised ground. it always has the rocky side and edged top. it's on various MV tilesets.
Married Man Gaming thanks :)
You never showed the branches for night cycle; how's that set up?
anyway i can hit you up on this? Idk what i did wrong and i went over this video more then 5 times. and still not doing anything.
How to make sure that the rain does not go in the houses and after the exit again continued?
when i go inside a cave, and go out, the time just resets... any solution? or pls can you comment me a script? ty
P.S. sorry for my bad english
So do you repeat this settings on every map? Or with only one map with these events affects the whole game?
It's been a long time since I made this but I think you have to do it on every map.
can you help me one more time please?
how to make that day in sequence
such as morning, noon, afternoon and night?

I have an idea on how to do it with multiple event tabs, variables and tracking MAP ID. I'll post a video if it works.

the pictures overlaps the layer and u can't see behind it
how do I fix that?
Make sure it's the correct size as well as a PNG file so it's transparent.
it's very great tutorial , and i have 1 question
how to end the sunlight? when go to inside building the sunlight is still in there
Ariesta Dwi set a parallel process event that removes the picture for the sun. You could put it on the door transfer event or inside the building as its own event.
wow, I feel honored that you reply to my question very quickly
okay I will try it first, thanks for making a very useful tutorial
wait you didnt explain about the control switches x_x , im confused
Can you give us the picture of the sunlight? Coudn't find one. :< It is a nice tut but whenever i enter a building .. it still rains, etc lol *Sorry my english is not the best*

+Married Man Gaming Sorry, I don't have twitter, and I plan on not getting it. Thank-You though.
+Ami L OK well if you do let me know. I'm on Facebook if you prefer?

is this a one time place event for the entire project or do i need to place these on each separate map too?

ok thanks man! and good tutorial!
six romeo Thanks for the view. What else would you like to see a tutorial for?
Please.
At 6:12 for the conditional branches how did you remove the Else?
+Alex Vue On the set conditions tab untick the box at the bottom that says "Set handling when conditions do not apply"
Good explanation.
If I put this in my first game, should I put you in the credit as this being your event system?
No need for that. Just have fun with it.
Thanks, this is a very helpful tutorial. It's very easy to understand. :)
I have a town map. When it rains in the town map I go into my house. It even rains in my house. How do I fix that?
+Alex Vue You can put an event in the house that is set to parallel process. Use Set Weather effects to none.
+Married Man Gaming Thanks man. Should I put Erase after the Set weather effects to none? And yeah I am up pretty late. Where has rpg maker been all my life (T_T )! ty for fast relpy.
