Thank you for all of your great work. I have learned an awesome amount from your videos. If you don't mind me asking, what manufacturer of rackmount cases would you recommend? (3-6 space, portable variety) Thank you again.
Hey, great video, I have a question about this KORG DTR 1000 - if you listen closely - can you hear some noise from the tuner, when its turned on? For some time I didn't notice that, but after a while I found out that mine has very slight noise (a bit like something you would get from some solid state / valve guitar amps). Is that normal? What do you think? And yes, I did try various cables etc.
Hi scott. Huge fan of your videos. I am wondering what rack tuner you would suggest for a bass player. Also this is probably a dumb question. Do they have to be mounted. Or would it be ok to just sit on top of the amp.
hey scott! i dont have alot of money, and im looking for a cheap but decent amp. what do you suggest? i thought about a fender champ 100 but you know more than I
Scott, I love your videos. I was skeptical when I first started watching, maybe a year or two ago. But, whenever I research something you say, or review, you always turn out being right. I thought I caught you the other day, though, when I noticed the scarf joint in the Parker guitar (I think) before you, but you corrected yourself. Keep up the awesome vids!
Thanks for the info Scott. I just got a rack box for free with this exact tuner. Can't wait to try it out with a guitar. Have you made any videos of your stage rack set up? It would be very educational to see what you use on a gig.
1st tuner was a late 80's Banana BT2, still have it. Gotta Korg CA1 (I think) the white chromatic version of those little korgs in your room. but lately I been liking the built in tuner on my Mustang II amp just cause its convient.
Thank you for doing this video. This one really helped me out. The bouncing from green to red, when I knew I was in tune, was driving me nuts...and now I know it's normal. ...and yes...I tried out several of those headstock things...and they couldn't even tell me if the guitar was intonated...when it was obviously way out of intonation. Totally useless crap. ...I'm also having lustful thoughts about those strobe tuners...and I'm not ashamed to admit it.
LOL....I had to laugh about all of your back-ups. I had a wedding band back in the da and like you carried back ups for everything. the guys in the band thought I was disturbed......lol thanks for video. I just acquired one of these from a friend and now know what to do for best results. thanks....... very informative and appreciated too
william brown I'll have to see if I still have a DTR-1 around here. I did a couple more tuners tonight. I never trust the built in tuners on anything. None of them have worked so far. The Johnson amp tuners don't work, the Fishman preamp tuners are horrible on my Martins and such. Whatever is in the Rainsong is fair at best. It's nice to have something that actually has another indicator every 2 cents or so instead of every 10 cents like most little devices.
Great video!..I have a DTR-2..but I really like the DTR-2000,its got more features nd its built like a tank...I thought about gettin the Pitch Black tuner looks kool nd everything...but u did point out in your video review of the DTR 2000 that its chassis was made of plastic..big no for me..nd I'm glad I saw that video I want my gear to last...again your videos are very informative!. ROCK ON BRUTHA🤘🤘
Randell Vandergriff I've had TONS of different clip on tuner companies wanting to give me some of theirs for free to do a review for them and I tell them that I would TRY them for a Ukulele or something really small like that ONLY. When they push the full sized instruments, I tell them that they simply don't do the trick, then they argue and I tell them to fuck off. EVERY SINGLE ONE of those possible plugs for those damned things have gone EXACTLY like that. lol Just more morons that think that the sound of their guitar is somehow generated at (and should be measured at) the headstock. lol Just silly. So, TONS of people making money off of the FACT that the general public is retarded.
Hi Scott, this is not about the tuners, but i've got a question about if what i'm doing is right. i've got a rosewood fretboards and i'm not really far in my music theory. To help, i put 'note notes' beween each fret. (so that under every string, it says what note that fret is) the way i do that is writing the notes on a strip of paper and sticking it to my guitar with a srip of scotch tape. it helps me more than how much i think it looks weird. But i wonder if it is bad for my guitar to do that. and is it better for my strings if i put the plastic scotch tape over my fretboard? that way the dirt from my fingers doesn't get into the rosewood grooves. well, sorry if this question was a little long and hard to understand. i tried to explain it ass well as i could. have a good day, Patrick~
Patrick If it is an electric guitar, you are fine my friend. Doesn't matter, as strings don't touch the space between frets, but rather the frets themselves.
Alex M thanks for your reaction but why? and what i ment with ''bad for my guitar'' was if the glue from the scotch tape would be bad for my fretboard sorry if i wasn't clear about that
Patrick Ah gotcha. I definitely wouldn't use the plastic type, but the regular scotch tape would be fine. I'm not sure I would leave it on for years though - might be good to replace it every once in awhile so that the glue doesn't "cement" like how it does after it ages significantly.
Alex M ohh.. in holland the regulair scotch tape is the plastic kind. do you mean paper tape or so? and thanks for the replacing tip have a good day ^^
I agree strongly that clip on tuners suck ass, handhelds aren't much better, and really rack mounts are the best, but due to quick accessibility and easy, fast tuning, I honestly prefer pedalboard tuners. Your opinion?
Tuner hoarder!!!!! lol I tried last year to get one of those but ended up with a mini floor KORG. It's probably off but close enough for my lame ass. DON
Anybody here pretending to know what the hell Scott is talking about is, well, never mind. It's Chinese at best. Cool video though. I cannot believe anybody has this many rack tuners in a single rack. Maybe Scott is a roadie for Sebadoh
Just got me one one of these! One. Not 10. One. Thanks for your review. Appreciate you always!
Thank you for all of your great work. I have learned an awesome amount from your videos. If you don't mind me asking, what manufacturer of rackmount cases would you recommend? (3-6 space, portable variety) Thank you again.
Any videos on your rack mount effect modelling units?

What's your opinion on the Boss and TC pedal tuners? They seem to be the most popular. Thx.
Did Dimebag use this? I saw another korg version with 4 buttons on the left hand side
That would be the DTR-1
@@groovydjs I know his tuning was minus 50 cents, I’m guessing you can’t do that on here?
Gosh! I am still using a Korg ToneWorks DTR-1

How well will this work tuning a BASS guitar?
Works great on bass. I still have one of these in my bass rack.
I use the built in tuner in GuitarRig 5. It works GREAT. BTW What about the DTR-1?

Haha...typo...Pitch Black chassis is plastic..big NO
Johnson amplification bad ass

Here in US scotch tape refers to that tan, paper tape. Sometimes called marker tape.
