    We full time travel in a Winnebago Micro Minnie 2106 FBS and have found it to be an excellent and very comfortable RV. We downsized from a 40 Foot Bighorn 5th wheel and would never consider going back to large RV. Our small RV has opened up so many more wonderful camping experiences. It works about perfect for us.

    • @RVBlogger

      That is quite a downsize. So glad you are happy with your choice. I agree a smaller camper allows for much more flexbility when camping. Better campsites and fit in National Parks. Thanks for watching and commenting. Safe travels.

    Oh my gosh that 2'x2' shower! What were they thinking?! Also, in the third trailer with the bathroom light switch on the side of the vanity - maybe that could be a motion sensor light that just comes on automatically when you enter the bathroom.

    The first trailer (Highland Ridge Range Lite Air 17BH) would be the one I'd pick. And since it'd just be me I'd rip out the bunk beds and stick a stacked washer and dryer in that space, making it a tiny laundry area.

    I like the Highland Ridge the best of the three. So much so, I now plan on buying one. I'm 6' 2", so I need an 80 inch long bed. Even though the bed is six inches shy of being a queen widthwise, it's still doable. The shower is plenty big enough and the toilet has plenty of elbow room on the right side. But what I really like about this trailer is that it is perfect for dry camping, which is what most of my camping is. The 55 gallon fresh water tank is huge for a trailer this size. The absorption refrigerator is quite large and is also perfect for dry camping, as it uses very little propane. A 12 volt compressor fridge doesn't work unless you're running a generator or have a huge investment in solar panels and lithium-ion batteries. Two 30 lb propane bottles also mean you can go much further before refills. The kitchen is well laid out and functional. The bunk beds are long and with a 300 lb capacity, can be used by adults. The roof is accessible via the rear ladder, a feature missing on many trailers today. Most dealers are equipping them with the 190 watt solar panel and the 12 volt tank heating pads. This is a trailer that punches way above its weight class.

    • @luvondarox
      @luvondarox Год назад +2

      Thank you for the refrigerator comment. I've been wondering if there's a big difference between a 12v vs propane fridge (aside from Fancy, I guess?) as I'm only just starting to learn about RVs. It sounds like a propane fridge would be much better suited to my needs, so I'm not incessantly tethered.

    The Forest River Nobo is my favourite, it's got a proper sized bed, and it's a Murphy too. The spacious interior is very appealing but I dislike the raised counter. I'd prefer a larger counter top with storage underneath and some drawers under the sink. The bland interior is boring, I prefer the 50s look with bright blue, aqua or red furniture and trim.

    I would keep the bar top counter and chairs in the NO BO and get rid of the dinette. If possible, I would even get rid of the slide out and put a bank of cabinets along the wall. Not all the way down the wall, just enough to make a good storage area with extra countertop.

    nice selection if you want $40K+, I would also look at the EMBER series (small ones). one you seem to not cover is the GEO PRO 15TB. Its 16' long, two full twin beds or king, bathroom/shower. Works great to a couple or single camper. Only weighs ~2600lbs and ~$23K. We have been using it now for 6 months, except for some minor issues, been great little camper. hope that helps others when looking for smaller camper. Note: It is pulled by our Jeeps, so smaller SUV's can work

    On the third one, the forest river nobo. I absolutely love the look and the set up IF the mattress wasn’t showing in the murphy bed, I seriously dislike the noticeable wall bed, they need to rethink it’s design to blend in, especially when so many others are doing such a great job at the wall blending and solid looking structure of it, I don’t like how the wall is even shorter than the mattress once you lay it down, that just seems like it would cause unevenness. Also, personally, this would be perfect if there was no side, no dinette just the breakfast nook and barstools, there could even be a folded up table on the wall with two fold away chairs so if you wanted an extra eating or working area for guest or what not you could but when just a couple’s camper the table could be flush against the wall and out of the way.

    I've watched a lot of videos over the years, but your channel is the one that has helped my find three things. I learned about the KZ 130RBSE from you guys and wound up getting one for my Jeep. I learned about the Lectric Bike from you guys and wound up getting one. Now I've just found exactly what I was looking for in the Highland Ridge 17BH. I'm already in touch with two dealers and will be picking one up next month. I sold the KZ 130RBSE because I couldn't get through Canada with it. But on the bright side, I sold it for $2500 more than I paid for it. Now that the Canadian border is opening up fully, I can take the new trailer home with me and use it next summer when my 6' 3" 250 lb grandsons come to visit. Then I'll sell it next spring for another nice gain, because trailers are much more expensive in Alaska due to the high cost of shipping and very limited competition.

    You called the first bed "full size." A full size is typically 54x75. What you have there is "Full Size XL" or full-size extra-long at 54x80. It is 6" narrower than a regular queen (60x80), but has the same length as a typical queen or king. And, I mean residential queen or king lengths (not what some in the RV industry might call it).
    The bottom line is that taller folks would benefit from that 80" length.

    First camper question. If the fridge only runs on propane or shore power does that mean that if it had solar it would not be able to stay on or would it need some sort of inverter from 110v to 12v? I like the FR NO which has 3 windows in the bedroom and two chair bar. Do you think the NOBO could of had a second tv on the the wall to left of of the Murphy bed just above the window? It would be good for the persons sleeping in the master of if someone was cooking they could watch tv.never would want a microwave below the stove. Would rather have it above and storage below. Question do you think the NOBO 20.4 could have had a U shaped dinette or there would not be about space? I notice that you don’t get into options on these models such as solar. Do they have auto leveling?

    • @RVBlogger
      @RVBlogger  Год назад

      You would need an inverter to sun your fridge off solar. I think TV placement is an afterthought sometimes. Not thrilled with the layouts of these. An east west bed can be difficult for an older person to get in and out of. We just finished putting over 1.4K miles on our Surveyor 19RBSC and love the amount of room and storage it has. Also a dream to tow. Really surprised that two of the units still use the older style fridge. With my solar panel and a larger battery, mine will run for hours.

    They all look very nice are you ready but I wouldn’t give you a dollar for the first two maybe two dollars for the third one. Maybe you can answer this question. Why do the majority of the travel trailer put the dining table opposite your campsite. I have no desire to watch the neighbors while I have breakfast/lunch. Again great video and review. Thanks

      Because the slide is only on that side of the TT. My 25' TT has no slides and my dinette is where it's s'posed to be! My Murphy bed is a must as well since when it's folded, I have a nice sofa. When it's down, I have a full queen bed. Murphy bed is an excellent use of space in a small TT.

    Where do you relax in the evening…the 1808’s dinette? Very uncomfortable.

    • @RVBlogger
      @RVBlogger  Год назад

      True. In many cases, small campers do not have have a sofa (unless a Murphy bed) or living space for relaxing. That's definitely an important fact to keep in mind. Thanks for pointing that out Lawrence.

    • @markduree7132
      @markduree7132 Год назад

      The 1808, IMO, is a camping trailer, not an RV. When we go camping, we spend our time relaxing outside. If it weren’t for being able to make the dinette into a bed, we wouldn’t really need it at all unless it was raining. I do miss the old days, when my body allowed me to sleep in a tent on the ground.

    • @RVBlogger
      @RVBlogger  Год назад

      @@markduree7132 an RV is a recreational vehicle. The 1808 is a recreational vehicle. Everyone camps differently and if you are camping in a small TT then space is limited and wanting to be comfortable is important. Sometimes it rains, is chilly or you just want to be cozy inside. Lawrence’s question was a fair question. And don’t you own a Super C?

      No one should ever buy an RV as an investment. They only go down in value over time - just like a car. And quality has always been a huge issue. And many people don't know how to properly maintain their RV either.
