Traveled for one week on the South Island and one on the North Island (by car…), rest of the time I spent in Wellington and Auckland with family. Would love to go back one day…. 🫶🏻🇳🇿
Making a store stop first thing when you start your day, especially in the mornings, is such a treat, it is like a kid in a candy store. I’d bet it is a universal delight in all countries. Zone 3, you are becoming a pro!

It is uncanny how similar the New Zealand landscape is to the Scottish landscape, absolutely gorgeous, even the temperature is similar only we think 12 Celsius is the middle of summer. 😉
What amazing views and fantastic landscape. You handled those river crossing with glance. But like you said, to do it alone with all heavy luggage really could have been a challenge and not as joyful . Really great episode Runa. I liked the clip about 15:40 in the video where you follow with the drone at a lower level so it looked like you followed with your bike and then flew in a different direction. It almost looked like you did a takeoff with your motorcycle, cool scene 🤩

Oh Runa, the scenery, the mountain & valley views were just beautiful, the drone view of that large wide valley was epic. Great music choice. It always looks to be such a well behaved drone ! You were much more confident on those small rocky creek crossings than you were on the Rainbow Rd crossings with Kinga. I remember your "Gas Gas Gas get over it !" comments as you tip-toed through those small crossings at the start of your NZ journey, hardly a peep from you this time. 😆😆😂 Great to see your riding skills improving Runa, your charm seems to attract good helpful people on your trips. I got a puncture, and had to replace my Rear Tyre, and the front to match. the difference in grip between the Factory fitted MRF water ski's and the tyres I brought (Pirelli MT60's) gave me the confidence I needed to tackle the Coromandel loop (where I discovered the tyre makes or breaks the motorcycle... turned my Baby ADV into a sportbike and dirtbike combined, rather than a don't go anywhere bike) now I can't wait for the Christmas break... no more watching others doing it, I'm going to get out there myself!
Tires matters! They make a huge difference in the riding experience, and finding one you enjoy using sure gives you more confidence on the bike! I'm glad you found a pair that does that for you, and happy to hear you are heading out there yourself! Stay safe and have lots of fun! 😃
Hi, that 901 are very powerful and sometimes having too much power and get you into trouble. You should try to take a royal Enfield Himalayan 450 for a spin/ride. I think that would probably suit you better and they’ve got plenty of grunt/power that’s only my advice, but my advice doesn’t count for much. Just enjoy your ride. Keep the smile on the dial cliff from Australia.
This is the kind of riding that appeals to me. I’ve been riding 44 years- no “HARDLY” shit either, but zero off-road exp. I can only dream for the next year; recovering from rotator cuff/detached bicep surgery. HOW? Picking my bike up at a local gas station. Haven’t dropped in 40+…but at 68, it’s harder! And it hurts more too.😂
I came back to see if you are petting any cows yet. I saw the sheep. You should have stopped and played with them. You have really changed and so much better and with your drone. Very nice music and not loud or overbearing. I have missed watching but my life is so out of control and complicated with my wife's health. It's hard to focus on anything else. thanks for a great video. 🙂
Runa, I'm curious about what you do for chain maintenance - cleaning, lubing, tensioning, replacement. Just curious how you handle that on your trips. Cheers
Good question! Honestly, I offer the chain quite little thoughts when traveling. Usually check it every other day or so and deal with it whenever there is time - wether it's simple things like lubing it, or adjusting the tension. If I ride a lot of dirt I dont lube it very often as it just makes sand and dirt stick more and it just makes it worse, wearing out the chain faster. I have all the tools with me to deal with it - except a masterlink which I will get my hands on before my next trip, just in case! Cleaning is probably the one thing I should do more often, but I'm not gonna carry around a can of chain cleaner, so the next best option is getting a little bit of diesel at a gas station and bring along a tooth brush or something to give it a scrub!

Hi, that 901 are very powerful and sometimes having too much power and get you into trouble. You should try to take a royal Enfield Himalayan 450 for a spin/ride. I think that would probably suit you better and they’ve got plenty of grunt/power that’s only my advice, but my advice doesn’t count for much. Just enjoy your ride. Keep the smile on the dial cliff from Australia.

This is the kind of riding that appeals to me. I’ve been riding 44 years- no “HARDLY” shit either, but zero off-road exp. I can only dream for the next year; recovering from rotator cuff/detached bicep surgery. HOW? Picking my bike up at a local gas station. Haven’t dropped in 40+…but at 68, it’s harder! And it hurts more too.😂

Runa, I'm curious about what you do for chain maintenance - cleaning, lubing, tensioning, replacement. Just curious how you handle that on your trips. Cheers
Good question! Honestly, I offer the chain quite little thoughts when traveling. Usually check it every other day or so and deal with it whenever there is time - wether it's simple things like lubing it, or adjusting the tension. If I ride a lot of dirt I dont lube it very often as it just makes sand and dirt stick more and it just makes it worse, wearing out the chain faster. I have all the tools with me to deal with it - except a masterlink which I will get my hands on before my next trip, just in case! Cleaning is probably the one thing I should do more often, but I'm not gonna carry around a can of chain cleaner, so the next best option is getting a little bit of diesel at a gas station and bring along a tooth brush or something to give it a scrub!

I've started doing that, yes! Makes a bit of a difference, perhaps you notice it more with more aggressive riding than what I do 😂
