I don't think they will, it is a glitch that has been in the game for years and everyone loves it. The only difference is that now we have that chessboard display.

@@thelegendazure depends on if they find a way to monetize it or not, right now it is harmless, who knows maybe one day freeplaceing items might be part of the 1st subscription. Ether way this is now a must have that will be coveted after this session ends.

No negativity toward your video or your enthusiasm. My disappointment is with Bethesda. Each one of these counts toward the display limit and overall budget. The ability to place items anywhere in your C.A.M.P. is already coded into the game, just not extended to the category of junk. Finding workarounds is cool and all, but I'm tired of having to glitch and mod FO games to make things function the way they should. It was neat for awhile, but not after almost 30yrs of the franchise. I would like for the games to just work at some point. But I'm happy you all are happy.

I agree with you 💯. I wish you worked for Bethesda instead of the clowns that run it now. Camp budget is too small to display very much anyways. Don't even get me started on that new megalonyx display taking up 50 lbs In my stash box.

I started doing this yesterday and omg best thing ever!!! My camps are getting revamped entirely, my mind has been completely blown by all the possibilities 🤯 I now need those 10 camp slots 😂

I've been waiting for this for years. A mergeable “display” showing only the item displayed at the top.
if you want to be even slicker, merge a few chessboards together overlapping eatch other for putting stuff closer together. this is gonna be fun as heck!

I'm so happy! I've been hoarding certain junk items just to use as camp deco. I totally suck at merging but this technique seems easy enough for me to figure out, lol. I'm going to be doing a new camp build tonight on my live stream,so I'll be sure to try this out when it's time to decorate. Thank you!

Thank you very much for this video! I have seen some other merging videos before but they always seemed so complicated to do that I didn't want to try them ( and get thoroughly frustrated with them when they wouldn't place correctly. ) but this is a very easy and simple way to do this. 🎉❤

@@c4garudaa305 in fallout 4 you can put the crosshairs on an object then click and hold the “pickup” button depending on your console you play on then you’re able to move it to the desired location or position

You don't need to stand on the Pressure Plate! Several methods can include having a mannequin on the plate (not necessary for the most part).
Just placing it down the first time, grabbing and placing it down will auto press it, as long as no one walks over it. and you can have the item you're grabbing on the plate itself.
That's awesome! Don't forget to merge the functional cooking stove into your kitchen countertop sections (I did the one with a round window in it so it looks like a functional oven). You can then snap the rest of your kitchen counters around it and make a fully functional kitchen. My next attempt will be an enclave icebox merge with a fridge...

The Jumbo Mr. Fuzzy is still not able to be placed on the chessboard lol. Poor guy will never be appreciated by being displayed.

Fallout all over again gotta love it
I saw this on Facebook and cpuldnt figure out what i was looking at. This is pretty cool.
Ive been doing this since I Unlocked it, BUT here is Helpful Hint, a Maniquin will hold plate down you dont have to stand on it OR even easier, Place the plate down then Pick it up and move it and the plate will lower, IF anyone steps on it it will unset and you will have to store it and repeat moving it. Ive noticed just dropping the boards in with 2 drops on Pressure plate they the boards want to drop to low and part of the item displayed will sink in as well, as you saw with your pool balls ... I used my Camp Module and Placing the Item tyhe boards on Causes it to FLOAT (Basically Opposite of the Pressure Plate) so the chess boards raised TWICE, then used Pressure plate to sink and they were Much flushed then.
Saw this after hitting the build limit for my camp lol guess I’ll have to do some rearranging

you don't need to jump onto the pressure plate to do the trick, wich is not convenient.
you just need to place it on the floor the first time, then pick it up and place it again, then you'll see the pressure plate will go down, at this moment the merge thing will work.
note that, if somebody walk on the pressure plate, this one will trigger and get back to up position. if this occur : store the pressure plate and replace it the same way.
Pressure plate is also great for putting stuff in rivers, lakes, and water in general.
I put nuka cola fish on them so it looks like they are under the water.

is there something you can use to display power armor pieces? aside from probably helmets. iv always wanted to have them all over my workshop to show my love of powerarmor and working on it.
This is a cool video and I appreciate it but I'm so done with merging lol its too damn time consuming for my liking. I'm still able to make cool camps placing non junk items on things tho. Placing junk on the dresser display case works for me.
Can't help but feel this was their exact intention for that chessboard because why would you use a chessboard a display?
Tip for the pressure plate use a manikin on the pressure plate place it on the pressure plate take it off and put it back on and it registers that someone is standing on it so you don’t have to stand on it and mess around with it

It was on a previous scoreboard and is sometimes in the atomic shop. You may even be able to make a ticket at the main menu and request it :)
You can merge two chessboard together and combine junk items or fit them ymtogether more snugly before mergingvthem into a table too it'll youbwant super cluttered tables
How much budget space do the chessboards take? i hvaent gotten it myself but will soon so cant check
How do we get the chessboard display? The ones we find around Appalachia seem to be junk and the only reference i see to the CAMP item is a seasonal reward from some years ago.
the problem?... that displays counts or adds up to the 30 limit... I normally use the helvetia display as it holds 6 items and counts as 1 as far as I know

Great video, but, how do you get the junk that is in your bag out and be able to place it on the chessboard? when you place the board down, how do you select the junk in your bag, and place it on board, the only thing i can do is drop, and it drops in bag, how do you put the junk on the board? No one shows the step of placing it on the board, exactly how you get from bag to board.

That plan for sale in crater or foundation? Got the robot didnt have enough points for that. Season ended when I was trying to get the points. Enter the season bit late.
I used the dice table with a combo of alcohol and chems to make it look like the boys had a big gambling night 💀
Just sucks that one pressure plate drop is not enough to hide the chessboard, and 2 drops is a bit much. Might not be real noticeable for most junk items, but is a problem when I tried to put a newspaper on my coffee table. 1 drop: still see chessboard. 2 drops: newspaper isn't visible. I guess I'll have to use a dirt hill (if that even still works) and hope I can get it just right.
Try placing a small mat down with the chess board on top then drop it twice and see how it looks (:
If you have a small bit of uneven ground in your camp you can use that instead of a pressure plate for finer tuning. I've found a few spots in my camps that let me get about 1.5 pressure plates of drop, which is perfect for everything so far. Takes a bit of practice to get right though. You just need a spot where the bottom corner of whatever you are trying to merge the chessboard into clips into the ground while you move it, but it pops to the surface when you actually place it.

@@TheMalmut Gotcha. I'm relatively new to working with merges, so I've never heard the term drill hill. Everyone I talk to just sticks with pressure plates since they are reliable I guess. Can confirm that it still works though.
Edit: Why did my addled mind read "dirt hill" as "drill hill" each time. Makes sense in context tho.

There are some stuff like the eyebot helmet you cannot display on this which is soooo sad id love to put one of those near my workbench to make it look like I’m fixing it
If you pick up the pressure place & place it again it will stay dropped saving you standing on it, also I use a mannequin to keep mine dropped 👍🏻

Almost like Bethesda should just make this an easy thing to do. Whether it's being able to just lower the boards into things with a hotkey system or some kind of OCDecorator kind of items and category. Either way, I am rushing to that board lol
