Incredible video Facu as always, although this game was Need For Speed's Biggest Failure, this is a little bit enjoyable. It's like the Pontiac Aztek, when launched the car was negative reception but looking at it today might seem like people actually like it more than people hating it. Undercover was the bad sheep of the Need For Speed franchise.

The Online Only DRM, bad handling physics, always raining, the night only aspect was an hit or miss, fall through the map, police ai too easy to escape and too weak. The prestige mode who is a good idea but very hard to do due to the physics and only 2 OP cars. For NFS Payback, it was the micro transactions, the card system to upgrade cars who is also random; car classes because you have the same car 5 times and upgrade it aswell instead of sharing the upgrade parts between cars of the same class. The story who is too cringey, predictible and badly made. And like NFS 2015, the handling physics. And for NFS Heat, the story mode is too short and ends on a cliffhanger, the lifebar who was a big mistake to add it due to an unbalanced damage rate, no pursuit breakers, the fact there is too much car trims of the same car; limited engine swap options for some cars, no endgame content, only 1 DLC with 1 paid car that should be in the game from the start and was free on other NFS titles. And the common points between these 3 titles, they use the same engine (frostbite) which is designed primarily for 1st or 3rd person shooters. Which causes a lot of problems like the world clipping, fall through the map, bad handling physics or bad optimization on PC. There is also the fact that the 911 RSR is the most Over Powered car which causes the performance of the cars in the game to be unbalanced. The Brake to Drift model was badly implemented and a failure. This is all i can think of. And for NFS 2022, i hope they will not do the same mistakes but at the same time; i am not very hyped and have a very low level of expectation. Edit: They did and it's even worse. Luckily, i didn't bought it since it's a waste of $$$.

For me, the story of Undercover seem to be the weakest link. All that time, Chase Linh has been using the main character to eliminate loose ends connected to the phone containing Chau Wu's criminal network. Concept art looks impressive and all though, but should have gotten a lot more customization options, an improved vinyl editor, a better yet grippy handling model, better storyline and better characters.
I enjoyed Need For Speed: Undercover to a certain point, after a while it got really repetitive, and there wasn't any weather effects in the game, but just Sunshine, 24 hours a day.
Nope. May have some artistical and techincal good things, but are not even closer to majority. I've enjoyed before and after teenage, pretty classics as Hot Pursuit 1, Porsche Unleashed, Underground series, Most Wanted and Carbon, and I did never feel that satisfaction (or at least illusions through fun) with Undercover. Even ProStreet brought something of fresh content and was remembered with kindness. You had fun with it, because of that few things well done on that game. But you get back to ProStreet, Most Wanted and Underground, and you may reframe what you said.

I love your video, the game’s soundtrack brings me memories in a way how they perfect it but not in the best way, it is certain that this game was doomed to fail due to 6 MONTHS of Development on this game. I felt bad that every studio were taken advantage of their resources by EA due to not making accurate deadlines.

I know this is a video on Undercover but I really can't get on why Prostreet was received so bad... It had great graphics, great damage system (possibly the best ever), godlike sense of speed (I'm looking at you deadly Nevada), many different type of races and a great car pool. Maybe I'm not able to perceive anymore the game as they did in 2007 after MostWanted and Carbon but from my point of view that game is just amazing even nowadays

honestly, even if Undercover wasn't the best published NFS game, i still respect the game, it honestly wasn't the best on PC port since it was a bit glitchy within the game and it crashes at times, but long ago before that, i had played the DS version and it was good, not the best as Carbon Own The City in regards to NFS DS games, but it was still there within my childhood.
All because to get easy and quick money. Thank goodness indies are revolving. Too bad there are so few Racing ones inspired by Juiced, NFS, SRS and TDU.

Undercover is indeed the failure of NFS, although when i first got the game, i got for the PS2 version, with was arguably the best version as it was the NFSMW map with some changes and the same type of game MW and Carbon were, the other versions are just.....a sad shit show.
It looked like they were going after a burnout style game. If they rebranded and made the game focus more on that instead of being a false most wanted game, it would have been so much better. Might've been a hit since there are so many burnout fans.

I played all of the NFS games from Blackbox and they're fantastic. There is a lot of stuff i liked about Undercover but i didn't really like the game as a whole. Undercover's failure is all EA's fault. If only they gave Black Box more time the game would've been a hit.
Totally agree, it's because of EA that the NFS games after Carbon went downhill and incomplete/unfinished.
The Run as well. Black Box's closure was due to EA and Ghost's was due to the studio itself.
