May Allah bless you and preserve you ustadh, I learnt so much just by listening you for one hour. Wallahi, I love you for the sake of Allah. (I'm splitting the video into parts for myself to listen to and comprehend it as much as possible)
Probably with a bunch of spelling/grammar mistakes(might edit later) bc I was writing in a rush, but here is the biography of the shaykh that ustadh has mentioned: Born in city al Qasim in unayzah in 1307 AH. lost his mom at 4 & dad at 7. he grew up in a well mannered household, he memorized the quran before the age of 10, when he was 11 he had mastered its memorization. After that he sought other islamic knowledge. He was able to teach/was a teacher at the age of 23. In 1350AH shaykh became a refference point for the mantiqa of unayzah(place), they’d go back to him for their questions. He studied with noble scholars, he studied with shaykh Ibrahim(from scholars of kuwait) ibnu Hamad ibnu Jasir(the first person sa’di read on), shaykh Muhammad ibn AbdulKarim ash-Shibl(he read on him fiqh & ulum al arabiyyah), Shaykh Salih ibn Uthman al Qadhi(qadhi of unayzah)(he read on him tawhid, tafsir, fiqh, usul al fiqh, ulum al arabiyyah)(shaykh si’di was with him the most, was like his shadow till shaykh passed away)(si’di studied with many shuyukh). Sh. Si’di was known for his manners, he was very humble with the young and old, rich & poor. He really hated wasting his time, was very organized in his time(divided it between: studying, teaching, worship). He cared about the poor a lot, contacted them and gave them. If anyone was his guest(eg: foreign students of knowledge coming to him) he would make sure he would find a place for them to stay in. he always stayed away from what is doubtful. He was known for not concerning himself with things that didnt concern him. Any responsibilities he took he'd be dedicated to them. His teaching style: he could break down complex knowledge. He taught shaykh uthaymin(u can see that the style of shaykh uthaymin’s teaching was similar). Sa’di also taught the shaykh who was called the shaykh of the hanabilah of his time - shaykh Abdullah ibn AbdulAziz ibn Aqil. Abdullah ibn Sulayman al Basim was si’dis student also. He has many books. Shaykh sa’di had an illness for the last 5 years of his life. He passed away in 1376AH. He was prayed on in al qasim in his masjid(al jami3ul kabir) after dhuhr prayer, many people came from all over the world for his janazah. May Allah be pleased with him.
Assalamo Alaykum , a question has come up 1:45:35 (possibly within a minute of this time tag ) why with his knowledge and not as his majesty befits in the same manner we look at all of the attributes we affirm ? Please clarify to assist in understanding. Jazakallah khayr
We understand Revelation the way the Sahaba, Tabi'in, and Atba' Al Tabi'in understood it. And in the Arabic Language معية (to be with) is not restricted to being physically present with. You can say "the Moon is with us" yet it is miles away. Regardless, the Ayah "And He is with you" means with his knowledge. This Tafsir was made by Al Dhahhak bin Muzahim (102 AH), Imam Malik (179 AH), Sufyan Al Thawri (161 AH), Imam Ahmad (241 AH), Al Tabari (310 AH), and many more Imams before and after. There is Ijma' (consensus) over this explanation and Imam Al Dhahabi In Kitab Al 'Uluw cited Abu 'Umar Al Talamanki (429 A.H) affirming that Ijma'. Allah praises praises the belief of the Sahaba and the consensus (Ijma'): So if they believe in the like of that which you believe, then they are rightly guided; but if they turn away, then they are only in opposition. (2:137) And whoever opposes the Messenger after guidance has become clear to him and follows other than the way of the believers - We will give him what he has taken and drive him into Hell, and evil it is as a destination. (4:115)
May Allah preserve Ustadh. Surely I amongst those who have extremely benefited from him. I repeat "extremely"
Amin. Wallahi I‘m amongst those, too.
I am also among those . May Allah raise his ranks and make him and all of us among the people of Jannah
Ameen
what a gem this man is. May Allah perserve him and his family
