The production on this album is ace. So much space between the instruments and the vocals on top of it all. Reminds me of Nigel Godrich and his great Radiohead albums.

An Irish friend I met recently showed me this album, 4 weeks ago. I had listened to this band ages ago as my then bf had showed me this but I wasn’t obviously into this kind of music back then.
I spent days listening to this band last 3 weeks and I absolutely love the songs now. Funny how I have always loved how Irish language sound when Irish people speak :)

This is am amazing track. I first heard it on Irish radio a couple of weeks ago and it stopped me in my tracks. l love the choral singing and the whole sound and feeling of this song. Now checking out the album and it's superb so far. What a fascinating band. They clearly like to experiment, as it sounds like almost a different band from their earlier songs.

What I really like about the song are the upcoming guitars during each part of the song, as they seem to intensify they never really come through. Making it very powerful and energetic almost ‘firestarter’ alike.
Also the meaning of the song about a mother who passed away and their children wanting to put the titelsong phrase on their mothers tombstone, being not allowed to, and going to court over it to pursue Irish language on a tombstone in England is really heart touching, and Fontaines DC dedicating a song to this even more so!

Am I the only one who sees a huge irony in this song?
It is supposed to be in homage to a family who fought to have an Irish language inscription of a loved one - without the English translation.
Yet all the main vocals in the is completely in English bar the title!
It wouldn’t have been Too difficult for the lads to write it as Gaeilge. Or at least use a couple more phrases as Gaeilge.
Really disappointed that nearly the whole song is in English bar the background vocals repeating the title.
This it just seems wrong. And shows lack of self awareness given the background of the court case! It really should have been sung go hiomlán trí Gaeilge (completely in Irish). Or at worst with at least a verse or two as Gaeilge, or at least a few more phrases as Gaeilge. Maybe for Seachtain Na Gaeilge the lads could do an Irish language version properly. If Damo Dempsey can do it with his songs for SNaG so can these lads.
Even this comment could have been written totally in Gaeilge.
Song is a story the world can appreciate. Not just Ireland and those who speak Irish. It makes people ask the question instead of relating to people who already know the answer
