That's what I heard everyone saying when I bought my M140i. Until I had it dyno'd stock, on an ACCURATE dyno, and it made 336bhp. So many tuners give false figures, and it's very easy to inflate the figures too, there is a video on here of a standard M140i which has a remap to over 500bhp, that's the the dyno graph says ! We all know it's bullshit though :-))) Just loosen the straps slightly so the rear tyres just ride the rollers a tiny bit to get an extra 40bhp, then have the intake temp probe sat somewhere hot, and gain another 80 bhp instantly. So easy. Mine was mapped to 411bhp/576nm, and a few months later I had a 200cell Wagner cat fitted, ITG panel filter, and remap to 455bhp/634nm, and on some other tuners dyno's I know it would probably read 470-480 bhp, although I know that would be bullshit.
I've just purchased a 17plate m140i, had fast cars and for a standard car the m140 is insane! Prices at the moment are a bit daft but definitely worth the money
I got one on a PCP in 2019 and haven't looked back. No other proposition comes close - £200 deposit, under 400 a month for a brand new, RWD 6cl performance hatch, and even these are aggressive payments that mean I'll have circa £4k equity when I pay off the balloon, to either enjoy the car longer without further depreciation, or sell and recoup some of the PCP depreciation paid off. Look at basic family hatchbacks now and you're still looking at £350 a month. Essentially I've paid a circa £12k premium over 4 years for driving a 4 second to 60 (after £350 remap) missile without all the maintenance and repair costs of a typical used car. I can swallow that. Still in love with it
They are great cars mate, but even with a remap to 415-420 bhp you'll never see a true 4 second 0-60 (not in a RWD one anyway). Mine is 455bhp/634nm and it's only around 4.5 0-60 because more power doesn't mean more traction. The mid range is bloody amazing though.

@@derekporter66 All this stage one stage two stage three is bollocks. What mods have you done matey ? Mine has a 200 cell Wagner cat, ITG panel filter, and was dyno'd on a very conservative (ACCURATE) dyno at 455bhp/634nm. Love the M140i it's such a fun car.
I had a 17 plate m140i pre shadow. Was a great car but like all hatch backs you see them everywhere and bar the awesome b58 didn't feel special in the end. A lot of content done so nah I wouldn't get one for the channel but great value car!
The M140i is a cryde insertion of a high powered 3ngine into a chasis that was simply not developed to handle the torque and power . The rear end if this car gies sideways at the slightest of provications, e.g. exiting a roundabout abruptly at pace
This does look smart in all black, you should buy one, great fun to drive. Lads done well with the insurance on that. I do like the look of the 1 series.
@@wonkothesane2288 Hey, has the 140 for a few weeks now and instantly fell in love with it. It's hard to put into words to people when I try to explain the difference between the two cars. It's a whole other beast..
@@nathanharling1920 Hi. Glad you’ve got on well with the 140! I love mine. Got an LSD and winter tyres on mine - makes a huge difference in winter. If you don’t fancy £1800 for a diff - consider some winter wheels and tyres. These cars are extremely sensitive to tyre choices. I would never mix tyres and only buy premium!
Having owned a 2019 plate m140 for 2 months now I can honestly say is such a power house. The b58 is a beast of an engine !
Id get one, problem is that I can’t get a quote unless it’s 20k plus either a black box cos I’m 21 😂😂
There’s nothing quite like the M140i. Very unique car. Great video 😎
Except for the M240i of course!✌

Love the M140i it's such a fun car.
Do you use it daily if so how's the fuel ⛽️
This is the only current performance I could potentially afford in the future. Just the servicing costs would put me off.
It’s honestly not as bad as you think, as long as you manage your money well and look after the car you’ll be fine
You’ll spend more on fuel in a month than annual service cost…
I’ve got the m235i and I love it so I can imagine that’s insane to drive too.

Been trying to decide between a 335d xdrive or the m140i 🤔
Rwd always
Manual 330d 👍
Me too lol 👍
335 xdrive is 10x more practical. The 140 is alot more fun. So it depends if you need a daily or a weekend car
Exactly what I'm trying to decide between
Won't be getting rid of my M140i anytime yet.
455bhp/634nm so far, and I aint' finished yet !!

So would u say its better than the rs3 8p ?
In terms or fun. Tr Hamza said it himself
I've decided to part with my golf r for one of these, hopefully arriving next week!
