- The Concord gameplay reaction has been largely negative after the PlayStation State of Play last week. The first Concord trailer was just a cinematic, but now we have a story cinematic along with a brand new Concord gameplay trailer, and the reception is largely negative. Why?
Concord is an upcoming first-person hero shooter game developed by Firewalk Studios and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. The game is scheduled to release for PlayStation 5 and Windows on August 23, 2024.

And if Marathon doesn’t offer something exceptionally unique and awesome for a hero shooter it will also be DOA.
The trailer was every Joss Whedon dialogue trope in 4 minutes. I'm not the only one sick of this style of characters and writing. It's not 2015 anymore. Imitating Marvel isn't cool.
Any PvP, Hero shooter, Overwatch clone is a hard pass for me. Don't care how good it looks.
Concord has a real saints row 2022 vibe...
I believe BodyCam (exclusive on Steam) will be a better option imo......of course free multiplayer online..and its from a indie developer and it brings something totally different from a FPS perspective....this is what gaming needs more innovation.....Concord i wish it the best but!...not sure how the PC players will adopt it, especially if PSN is required to play-online😮💨😮💨
I was surprised by overwatch's success, it originally ( titled - project titan ) was going to be a sim style game, you would be a normal person doing a mundane job, then you would go off as a hero in an arena. I still believe it would have been even more popular if it had released as that.
Not sure about PC, but my PS4 copy of the original Overwatch was $60 and every subsequent roster update was free. Overwatch had a major hand in popularizing the Loot Box which was how that game made much of its money.
It was the very first game I ever bought any for. I loved you got one for winning I think or atleast every level which you level faster from winning
@@BrokenMessiah1 Yeah, and to be fair, the original game was reasonably generous with the free loot boxes, especially during events.
It has been at least 3 years since PSO2 NGS has been out and I haven't had to pay Microsoft to play it and Halo multiplayer. The PVE co-op in Halo does require gamepass though. X-defiant also doesn't need gamepass. Hopefully The First Descendant won't either.
My theory is games dont cater, for older, set in their non ingame spending ways.
Game studios want young, fresh, manipulatable gamers.
Gamers who accept ingame spending, like its natural.
Like how companies offer better deals to new customers?
I think gaming is getting like that.
I think people need to pump the breaks until the Beta releases. Everyone is saying it’s generic but really know very little about the gameplay.
at this point im just looking for an overwatch replacement. OW2 is a disaster that they put training wheels on. they litterrally made the hit boxes and bullet size comically larger in a COMPETETIVE game so its more accessible. and now its a joke. litterrally you can shoot orisas chest and crit. Im hoping this game is good.
I used to play pvp games.
But iam well and truly burned out on them!

I did enjoy dmz and mw3 zombies, but both modes got done dirty by the overlords!
Its so obvious hactivision want all cod players, playing warzone!
The digital store with a frustrating game tacked on!

Is it too much to ask Sony for a normal fps pve game
with the money they make from COD - maybe - would love to see Socom return but...

It’ll be the opposite. If you think the woke stuff ends at the pronouns on the character screen, it’s bound to have more. It’ll be a lot of anti-woke talk. Not people loving it like Helldivers 2.

I really dont understand what anyone could have against this game. Its not my cup of tea, but it looks good judging from the gameplay shown. I thought the mixing of character abilities was cool. There was no jank and it looked like enough was going on for the game to be fun. If it was 3ps, I would probably give it a shot. First person is usually why I avoid playing these games. But I dont see any reason to DISLIKE it outright, even as someone not into those games.
Edit: Okay, so the hate train is running rampant on this game because people think it looks generic and not something they would play for more than a couple days...that seems to be reason to warrant indifference and disinterest, not hate. Not more dislikes than likes on a decent trailer. There's more to this
This type of game isn’t even my bag and I wanna check it out. Knowing the content being free after launch is a plus so I’m curious if they will go the helldivers 2 route. I hope it does well but will see what happens. The open beta will definitely measure of how people feel about the game. As for the marvel rivals beta on ps5 it’s actually a closed beta.
I think Lono is going to be doing a video saying I was wrong once the Beta is released.
Everyone hates it because of the obvious... The game is not even out or has been played...🤣
People want simplicity in life. Anyone from age 5 to 75 can take a console out of the box and start playing it in 20 minutes. Most people wouldn't have the slightest idea where to start with a PC and once they see the price they'll go "never mind". It's like if a manual transmission car was double the price, only race car drivers would purchase them.
My initial thoughts while watcing SOP was man not another Overwatch RIP of clone but as I watching it I kept getting destiny vibes more so from the art style..... and even more so from the gameplay mechanics.... but my reaction was still this looks mid.
Now i watched the gameplay again from a fresh mind perspective and i kinda like what i am seeing... I mean its got some of the original Destiny 2 pvp guys from bungie so it kinda looks like a slower Destiny style game mixed in with some Overwatch and Valorant..
I will definitely give this game a shot with the beta on PC......
I feel Concord could surprise us all.
I don't think it'll be bad, but it's gotta overcome Overwatch which is now free and I just don't see it doing that. People who play these games only play one.
