Consider the Following: -When vehicles were leaked, the devs were quick to say the vehicles would never be in the game due to game engine limits. -They promised the Steam review cape and that went nowhere. -Warbonds are released slower and with much less content. -Every jungle planet or fogged planet drops frame rates in the beefiest of PCs. -They drag their feet on a full page of listed bug fixes, and went on vacation. -The social friends menu STILL has major bug issues with cross platforms -A promised test server? When? Early October, and weapons fixes in December? There is so much more than weapon nerfs, and this dev team of 100 isn't up to fixing anything.
Some of the people criticising players who were complaining bout the nerfs don't even own the game. On Steam you can see how many hours they've played and many people saying "get good" had no hours played. Pretty good indicator of the mentality behind their attitude, uninformed trolling from clueless loud mouths.

Why would they, when none of them even play test their own asinine changes to the game. No wonder they're so out of touch with what players want, they don't know what's happening to their own game. They'd much rather dump the job of play testing to us players and go on a vacation themselves. Imbeciles all of them. They've completely erased what's left of the players' good will. @@mategido Yeah I personally don't think they're being honest. I'd rather choose they are being maliciously obtuse and insincere than the alternative, that they are dangerously incompetent instead. I've played Helldivers 1, it's not a perfect game but the effective weapon design there doesn't scream to me of incompetence. They know what they're doing, they know how to do this right, and this explanation comes off as an attempt to buy them time and excuse their slow and ill conceived decisions. I don't think it's fair that they assume we're slow and can't recognize this kind of corpo talk for what it is. Like we're supposed to just nod our heads and believe that they have been wanting to manipulate the entire design implementation of flame weapons for months now? They really want us to believe they aren't being reactionary when all evidence proves to the contrary? It would have landed so much better if they just said “they were disappointed that they missed the mark and didn’t provide us what we wanted”
I’m just putting this out there; Battlefield 5 and 2042. Same things happened, players abandoned the game and then the studio had mass layoffs as a result.

So give us good weapons to fight back, this shouldn't be an impossible concept
@@DemoDivsion The issue is that Arrowhead doesn't want DRG like solo gameplay. They want the Helldivers 1 experience but with an over the shoulder camera pov. They want the back to the wall teamwork element from HD1 and that's a noble goal because HD1 is fun as hell. But they already poisoned those waters before the game even released by allowing players to stim themselves and removing passive healing. They removed the downed state from HD1, which meant you had to depend on other players to get back up. They removed the game over if all players were killed. They removed the REP-80 Healing/Repair gun. These are all things that promoted team based synergy. They added a bunch of self sustaining tools instead and are now upset people are using them to solo wander and wanting the power to survive on their own across the map. So they're taking away tools to make that possible. To make us feel like we can't handle the challenge without supporting each other. *That's fine but the game they want us to play is contradictory to the one they actually made.* At some point they need to realize that. _Because the game they made is still fun._ I don't think AH or the players are ready to take the sacrifices necessary to make this game feel like the first this late in development.
Who nerfs the PvE game... Despite of all of the bugs at the beginning and hard to connect to actually play, I had the most for the first like 2 months ? On top of this, I convinced a couple of mates to play with so it was always full, always enjoyable with everyone having their own role. Now after all of this nerfs, the Sony controversy etc. there is nothing to come back to. And what a shame - as we considered this game as the best coop experience we ever experienced
@@ReforgeGaming will we want to return to it tho? Even if they fix all issues which they won't, I am not coming back, a dozen of my friends won't either. It was a great fun, but enough is enough. Time to move on.

Doesnt mean it cant be realisit in way guns handle. What is issue is that realism is ignored when it suits them and used as reasoning when it suits them.
I didn’t have a problem with the smaller flamethrowers not hurting Chargers more than the typical primary. But the large flamethrower is a stratagem and the devs said specifically that stratagems were how you were meant to kill large targets.
The theory going around that because of how the game's programming is structured, they couldn't keep the Warbond flamers from having the same properties vs armor as the support flamer seems sound to me because of that. We can reasonably say that people would have flocked to the Pyro warbond if it had been that way, and some would have cried 'pay to win' about it. But this is far from the solution to the issue they seem to believe it would be.
This is something that can be easily changed by reference updates. If they're using proper programming techniques, they can add a new damage type and update all enemies according to enemy type/rank/whatever they have set up.
I said this waaaaaay back when they nerfed the Breaker instead of fixing the bad weapons: _If you have a car with 3 flat tires, you don’t pop the one good tire so it’s flat too, you fix the others so they work as intended_ .
This is what is intended though. The goal isn’t for you to have 4 perfecting working tires and to be a Ferrari. The goal is for everything to be going wrong all over the place and for you to overcome it a percentage of the time. This is a demolition derby and you're just trying to survive to the end.
@@northlandphoenixthat's the opposite of what it says on the box. And I quote "destroy your enimes with overpowered weapons" Face it , the devs are just saying whatever and they don't have ANY idea what they are doing
@@northlandphoenix And that is NOT the experience the majority of players want. But that is not all players. Hell, that's not even _MOST_ players. This game's been on a slow bleed of players since launch, and while there are ups and downs from time to time, it's trending downwards. When Space Marine 2 comes around (assuming that the studio doesn't fumble something BADLY), it's going to GUT the playerbase for Helldivers, and honestly, after seeing how they drop the ball time after time after bloody time; THEY DESERVE IT. LET THIS GAME DIE.
Been a bit since I played but the whole game feels contradictory. I was sold on the power and absurdity of the weapons, and using these absurd weapons to kill hordes and hordes of bugs and bots but I’m being disincentivized to not fight and just run. I also just started hating bug breaches and bot drops because of how quickly they can call in backup, and you can’t do anything to mitigate a bug tunnel breach when it’s activated, and kill the bot drop ships usually leaves the enemies alive and now you have an obstacle the enemy can shoot through for…some reason. And don’t get me started on how many heavy armored enemies those things drop in…which is why people gravitate to weapons like the flamethrower and incendiary breaker in the first place, because the anti tank weapons and stratagems cannot keep up.
It's still possible to stand and fight in some cases, it takes a LOT of trial and error, reflex, coordination, practice and frustration. Some things that most people nowadays don't have time for anymore. But yeah, you're 100% correct. It feels like you just can't stand your ground anymore. That was where all the fun in the game was.
@@mitchellbarton7915well no, because you either run out of ammo or die because you ran supply pack instead of shields and got ragdolled by a rocket devastator then chased down by a hulk that one shots you

Believe me, I understand 100% where you're coming from. I'm not trying to say skill issue, just that it takes a lot more work to do the same things. And even still it feels almost based on luck.
You ever head of the Stanford prison experiment? I'm imagining the devs responding to the "treason" by getting a little too much into their roles and doling out mass bans to people not obeying MO's.
I only have the energy to do one operation compared when the game first came out and at the moment i find it hard to even bother as i feel like im a wet paper towel fighting gods in game. I have never seen a golden goose like Helldivers 2 get rammed into the ground by its creators
I completely agree! I used to run mission after mission. Now I can barely bring myself to complete more than two with how much I’m tossed around and unable to fight back effectively.
Yeah… my buds and I used to run for hours, nowadays, if the crash’s don’t send us away initially, we get our motivation killed within a single operation.
The biggest thing I hate about the new update is the amount of new “tanky” enemies without the consistent hitboxes on them. The impalers are way too overpowered. One can rag-doll you across the entire map. Their reach needs to be nerfed and so does the ragdolling. And their hitboxes need to be fixed. There are times when an orbital rail strike doesn’t kill them, or an orbital precision strike. INCONSISTENT!!
I’ve been trying to figure out why the game feels so bad to me now, and this is pretty much it. On bugs, primary weapons aren’t taking care of the chaff enough and big enemies aren’t dying predictably. As an antitank user, it feels like none of the antitanks are working well for me. BileTitans can take 5-6 rockets to die because of their glitchy faces. Sometimes you’ll hit a charger in the face and they won’t die. I notice this a lot with the Commando, where supposedly 2 should take down either charger, but I’ll end up using 3 or 4. You can’t strip leg armor standing still or moving backwards. Reloads are harder with more chaff everywhere. A lot of times I have no clue as to where the Impaler is, which with tentacles as long as they can have, could be practically anywhere. The game just isn’t fun when the stuff that should work doesn’t, and the stuff that used to work no longer works, whether its due to bugs or nerfs, whatever. I know they are hell bent on making this a dark souls like experience, but most players don’t want that, and I don’t think Arrowhead is capable of dialing in the pain level accurately enough to where most players are having fun with a dark souls level of difficulty.
@@hamothemagnif8529you can’t destroy them the tentacles simply run away when shot. To stop it you need to kill the bug itself. The thing is in the middle of a pitch fire fight they are difficult to find but they do down quick if you hit their weak spot
Me, given up on this game. "A game for everyoen is a game for no one" well when you design a game for no one, turns out no one plays it😂 this game deserves to fail
I popped back into the game the other night.I had put about 150 hrs into the game after it launched and running level 7s with a buddy and randos fairly quickly was my regular play session. On my return I just solo queued a level 3 to relearn the mechanics and got destroyed multiple times. Lost all incentive to try anything harder.
They made it harder by weakening weapons, limiting ammo, and nerfing fire damage. I have almost 600 hours on the game and I started only running Helldive difficulty around 120 hours. I jumped into the game a few days before the update (because I know Everytime they update the game they make it worse) because I wanted to see how bad the changes were. I played for three days and did fine, after the update all I was doing was getting flung around the map and getting swarmed by bugs with no answer on how to manage them. Arrowhead screwed the pooch on this one and I uninstalled this once great game with no plans on ever returning...they didn't learn when they allowed people to buy the game in countries they knew weren't going to be able to have access to it along with all of the unnecessary nerfs and bug buffs they always do the same thing and end up admitting they screwed up but keep doing the same shit. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over while expecting different results, they've lied and burned me personally too many times therefore they won't get anymore of my time or money 🤷🏻♂️
First couple of runs I was definitely rusty but after a few more attempts I think they've increased enemy numbers and agro and I felt like I was getting stun locked more easily. I'm not sure if I want to go back just to lower the difficulty. Ego perhaps , the power fantasy has been watered down.
Lol. That's some odd logic. 4 man coop game, and oh ya it works. Let me solo it and find reasons not to try. It's not designed to be solod. If you can cool, but there is 0 push to make it balanced around solo play. It never will be. And of course, I am forced to say "get gud." People solo 10s. I can solo 9s but it's a lot of running. I'd only be upset if I couldn't add 3 other divers and casually destroy 9s consistently. If you are unable to solo 3s, keep trying, because that IS due to skill gap and not game mechanics. I solod 6s on bugs will full nerf thrower load out. It can be done, but not at your current skill level.
I remember when people would claim the Incendiary Breaker was not a good weapon, I would argue with them its a great gun for bugs, and the devs even nerfed a gun most people thought wasn't that good. The devs nerfing got out of control and took all the fun out of the game when they are even nerfing mid-tier weapons
@@ReforgeGaming it's probably because they nerfed all the guns above it, so it became one of the best guns in the game, so that too go nefed. Its why nerfing just ruins games.
@@bigbrain8839 Warbonds would sell regardless, because it would be new weapons to upgrade, but their big brain move is to nerf fire right before a new warbond based on fire is released.
The problem with “go play something else” is that…well, I bought this particular game with the promise that it was awesome. And now it’s being made into bad.
My democracy officer is dead. I fucking snapped after they nerfed my incendiary. I dont know what to do. Super Earth is trying to contact my destroyer.
When I was little, my mom told me a story about a painter who created his masterpiece. But this painter was foolish and day after day he went back to it to make tweaks. After a while, he had ruined the painting because he couldn't leave it alone. This is what Arrowhead have done with HD2.
I've heard the "go play something else" comment. Well okay then. My friends and I have literally stopped playing and moved on to other games. Just like me, most of the playerbase just wanted to have fun playing the game. As of right now, that fun factor is gone.
PvE not PvP, they seem to forget what the game is about, it's about squishing bugs and bashing bots. Not making this the Elden Ring of video games, nerfing weapons takes the fun out of it, I want to be an overpowered MF and be challenged, not for it to be weak and "realistic" to the point where the fun is just gone...
It's not even realistic like who tf is gonna make flamethrowers that can't do shit against armors or intentionally weaken the equipment of their soldiers and only give them like 4 mags to go out and kill dozens of aliens? It makes no sense
I don't want to be OP. Being OP can get boring quick. I want want challenges, but be given a fair chance. And I also want the ability to choose and diversify my load out. I've played many challenging games like Elden Ring, Nioh, etc but never once did I feel like I wasn't given a fair chance. Now I can already see the AH white knights stating drop down the level or git gud. That still doesn't take away the limited weapon options. Plus ultimately we want a sense of accomplishment, even if it's just through gaming. Playing diff 4 or 5 again and again isn't very fulfilling as a gamer. The best games I've played offer players a multitude of amazing (not OP) weapons and armor. This game does not do that.
The thing about Fromsoft games like Elden Ring, it’s true that the enemies and bosses are tough but at least the devs gives the players powerful weapons and magics.
@@ReforgeGaming what a shame I was hoping I’d leave a couple months and come back with some nice new buffs and a couple interesting warbonds with some new content :/

Let the warp consume the devs. If anything, the devs are already tainted by the warp. How else can you explain the horrible mismanagement of the easiest lay up of a successful title in years.
It’s a big reason I will never like live service games. I don’t enjoy games I love turning to crap because the whims of the developers. Sure, they could correct course, but then they’ll just make the same mistake over and over again. I’m going to leave a live service game one way or another, developers have to ask themselves if I leave on good or bad terms.
Man the first helldive onto planet was legendary, then I got a breaker, had a ton of fun, even had some heroic last stand action while team flew away those were times.
I was on the side of the devs during that railgun Nerf patch, because my understanding was, they didn’t want one particular strategy or weapon to be good at everything. Each one had a role, things it excelled at, things it did not excel at. The railgun (Although I have heard this was because of a bug with cross play rather than the weapon itself) was pretty much the only thing you needed on most difficulties. Made sense to me to adjust it. I genuinely have no idea why they felt the need to change the flamethrower. Not only does it just feel worse to use now with the recoil and changes to visual effects, but its niche was completely destroyed by ruining its ability to kill chargers. It was not overpowered, it was a good weapon to kill swarms of smaller bugs and eventually kill bigger ones. The drawbacks were Needing to be up close to the enemy, which was especially an issue when facing bots (to the point where having it on a bot mission was pointless) It also could not take down an enemy like the bile titan, that spawn more and more frequently on higher difficulties and require other strategems to take down And it had the potential to hurt you and your allies when coming into contact with the flames This was as well balanced as a strategem can possibly get, but some dweeb, looking at a spreadsheet, saw a high usage rate against bugs and thought it must be overpowered, because they clearly do not play their own game
It’s not just that the weapons are getting nerfed. It’s that SO MANY of the enemies above the literal bug larvae and basic infantry bots have insane amounts of armor that take NO damage from 80 percent of our arsenal. Our shots bounce off, potentially hurting or killing us. There is no degradation of enemy armor from dumping an entire magazine of assault rifle ammo into a charger’s head or the Walker bot’s platform. “But just aim for their weak points!” I hear the sweats cry out. My brothers and sisters in liberty, when I have seventeen other enemies on my tail, how am I supposed to apply the necessary precision to get a two pixel headshot on said weak point? Meanwhile, the ENEMIES get new toys, new weapons, better, more effective ways of killing us players faster and more efficiently Tell me, has there been a SINGLE patch where we, the players, were given a weapon that was capable of taking out multiple tough, armored enemies in a reasonable amount of ammo that didn’t have a year long reload time or hasn’t been nerfed into oblivion? Now, HOW MANY times now have our ENEMIES been given new, stronger, more efficient ways of killing US? That’s why this game is dying.
Having Nerfs in Video Games is never Fun and it takes all the Excitement away when they Nerf something that a lot of people use. I was interested in this game but no longer. Thanks for the Update and always stay True in what you do, Reforge. Keep Up the Awesome Work!!
I have close to 300 hours in this game. I was a flamethrower main, it was my baby, and the playstyle I had the most fun with. I will not touch this game again unless they revert it. Idc if they make it do less damage to chargers, but at least let it damage them. And at least make it a stream of flame again. I was for super earth, but pretty soon I will be tor the emperor. Space marine 2 baby, where they will actually let us feel badass.
Theyve had the most crap philosophy on balance since day 1. EVERY gun feels like absolute garbage to use. There is no fun to be found in this game as the devs seem to actively seek it out and remove it.
i grinded to get the eruptor originally, grinded to get super credits to get the Warbond (because after being burned over the Arc Blitzer i wasnt gonna pay for a warbond again) and it took a long time. Grinded the medals to get the warbond items and eventually get my hands on the Eruptor, and the moment i finally got the gun i grinded for they nerfed it. I havent had any interest in the warbonds after that and fell off the game hard. I did come back for the latest update, but that was such a mistake. It almost feels like anytime i specifically found anything i enjoyed and worked to get they'd decide that wasnt allowed so destroyed it
Game is completely different from what it was 5 months ago, all the enemies are way stronger, all the weapons keep getting made worse, and the biggest issue that the devs created hasn't been fixed for months- being the bugged patrols that all seem to walk towards you now and enemy spawn rates feeling about 10x what they were. You used to be able to avoid stuff and sneak around, now it's just cancer.
Thing is, the patrols aren't bugged. The devs intentionally made them auto track the player and deliberately cranked up the spawn rates. Apparently 'stealth' wasn't an intended option so they destroyed it.
Also, that CEO is flat out lying. It shouldn't take a few weeks or even a few days to just change number values on weapons. Buffing all the weapons wont break the game, they're just making excuses. They dont want to let their players have fun and it shows.
I feel that since the whole Sony incident, Helldivers 2 has just been degraded over time. Which is really sad because I don't want this game to die out so fast, we haven't even made contact with the Illuminates yet.
I remember having so much fun using some of the lesser-used rifles and the eruptor. Then nerf after nerf to ammo, damage, buff to enemy strengths, I've not been able to find anything fun about the weapons we have anymore.
4 is a laugh riot. Not sure why on earth they would do this so close to a launch like Space Marines 2. The goal is to retain the player base for f’s sake
They need a guiding north start? TF?!you showed us E4mafia with super powered weapons bumbling their way through a bug mission. Cause that trailer is your North Star E4 Mafia with big guns.
I never really expected to play this game indefinitely. I'll agree that nerfs and communication can kill a live service... but I never thought the game had the legs to maintain a "Live Service" level of commitment. It's a fun time, but it can't be my main game and I have trouble seeing where the expectations that it COULD be... for anyone.
@@ReforgeGaming It looks that way when you start new or due to the chaos that can happen on higher diff, but currently the amount of content isnt really that big. Different planets are just colorswaps with potentially detrimental modifiers, bugs are all the same in the end, running up to you with the intend on meleeing you, bots simply spam whatever weapon they have in your direction. Mission objectives are simple af with little differences in how fun/annoying they are. So while the game has content for a while it starts to get stale after the 100hr mark imho.
I've been on both sides of the fence. Both telling people to "get gud" and being mad about it myself. I still kind of think the entire prenerf was a marketing ploy to make the only usable fire weapons the ones in a new warbond (i.e. "give us your money"). That said, I'm ready to take a long haitus anyway. There's weapons and vehicles that are in the files and we've known about for 4 months and yet instead of getting any of them (like the suppressed rifle, lever action, or the Jeep and APC), they dangled the AT mines in front of us for 2 months... almost just for laughs it would seem.
Helldivers has been the gaming community voice as of late. Game companies have been shitting on gamers for a few years now. And gamers are fed up with it. Getting sold stuff not even close to what they were promised, half baked games, or out right killing off games that players love. Big companies throwing copyrights left and right. Spending half their money on a game only for it to flop and then fire half the company just to survive. Or like helldivers with Sony, forcing something that is not needed just because they want to look better. Independent game companies are the future of games. Because they put their full attention into that one game, making that game better because they only have one project. Now I’m not saying big game companies should die, rather independent game companies seem to be doing it better than the big ones. It’s the same argument with pc vs consoles. Consoles were the start of the game industry to an extent because computers back then were built to be multipurpose, while consoles focused on just games. This was because a computer was very large and expensive compared to a console back then. And not as powerful. Today computers clearly show they can out power consoles, if a part breaks you can replace the part rather than buy a new computer, and still have multipurpose as a thing. Consoles only really have being cheap as a win today. Plus when any of the big companies that make those consoles dies so does the console. Computers are made by so many different companies that don’t even make the games for them. Anyway gamers are pissed and it seems that a new third video game dark age is coming. And from the looks of it. Big game companies are either going to be knocked off their high horse and have to change some things to survive, or they will outright go out of business.

Someone reported my message and i was met with a Perma ban without reason from the discord server, Really shows the character of the studio with what kinda stupid people they hire. Haven't played the game since
Haven’t played since I bought the first gun on the cutting edge warbond and it was drastically worse than all default guns. This told me all I needed to know. This would never be the game we all wanted. Weaker weapons with same enemies numbers or more enemies wirh better guns? Idk I’ll take the more and better over the weaker one
What really surprises me is that the ceo has a hit game Then the nerfs had people freaking out Why not tell the team to stop? It’s beyond clear no one wants this and it’s hurting the game. What could make someone burry there head in the sand and keep saying “this is a good idea”
I feel like Arrowhead needs to decide what kind of game they want to make. If they want realism then go for it, if you want to go for crazy power fantasy then go for it. They need to pick a lane and commit to it. Then they’ll find their audience. They can’t have both though. Same thing for how much they care about the player feedback. Either commit to balancing by data or balancing by player feedback then keep to it. I’m tired of them bouncing back and forth.
Why nerf weapons, in an PvE game?!? The only reason to even consider nerfing weapons, is in a PvP game where people always spam the same load-outs. In a PvE game, either, leave the weapons alone, and let people have fun, or, boost the unused weapons to bring them to the level of the preferred ones. Nerfing is just, dumb.
If they are to nerf they need to add lore reasons to the nerf and a player mission to combat the nerfs. Example: Liquid fire is produced on world X, supply lines are tight, and in order to maintain quantity of rounds quality control has been reduced. -liberate x worlds to tldr "undo nerfs". Make it fun
i do feel they could make use of the STORY of the world to make "excuses" for nerfs and buffs... bugs shells got stronger - fire damage dont do the same damage as it used to.. bots attacked X supply line making X weapon less effective and not as strong in return - a successful mission to take over a planet make X weapon super extra strong for the mean time a successful mission rewardss the helldivers to have free mechs --- use the buffs and nerfs be part of the story instead of flat game patches
I am done w/ Helldivers. How long do the CEO and devs expect me to stick around when they speak out of both sides of their mouths? Do they think we have nowhere else to go? They are acting like it IMHO.
When i first heard of the eof update i wasnt even aware of the nerfs so i dropped in with my flamethrower only to find it looking and feeling like a wet pool noodle lmao

The only thing arrowhead can do at this point is fire EVERYONE from the game and rehire all new staff with ideas to make this game better. However, by the time this happens no one will care about HD2 any longer. This game started off great and only got worse due to bad choices. Can we say HELLO NEIGHBOR 2. Wait the dev who destroyed that game is also a dev at Arrrowhead. Do we see a pattern?
I don't understand how you can mess up this badly. They had literal GOTY material and they ruined it. Mf this aint a pvp game, fix ya glitches and buff the weapons!
and if that's the case, when Johan gets back from vacation (or worse he started getting notifications while checking in to see how the BIG update went over upon release and see all the backlash) Alexus' and majority of the nerf team are getting sacked or reassigned, the amount of damage done to the game AND studios reputation might never recover at this point.
I don't think this is true at all. They just want it to be really hard, and thought that we wanted it really hard, and they suck at getting it right because they don't playtest their own game. They just change some numbers and wait for us to complain about it.
the consensus is already clear: we want guns that KILL to use on enemies that can KILL. we get like, 29 spawns max, they have infinitely many. we have limited gear, they don't. our gear shouldn't be balanced on a 1v1 basis, it should be balanced on a 1v200 maybe even 1v300 basis, since on higher difficulties getting more than 200 kills is inevitable for all players in the match, and lower difficulties flat out and simply SHOULD NOT BE HARD. anything under D5 can't be considered for nerfing players, only if people are doing shit on those low difficulties should we start looking at numbers.
I'm the same. 600 hrs and still playing. I'm like a 10 on the ok with losing until I figure it out scale tho. Nerfs have followed me and it feels bad every time. Slugger, Eruptor, now the flame thrower. I'm probably missing something. That's 3 unnecessary nerfs that just maybe had some bugs to adjust.
good video, the only issue I have is listening to the community, most of which didn't come from any of previous AH games or even educating themselves about how AH games are, might be a fools errand. The community at large seems to want the game to be a casual co-op horde shooter like EDF or DRG and that's never what it was going to be. Listening to the community and alienating your fanbase from previous games for the sake of a wider audience will burn you in the long run
like the simple solution is just to revert the flametrower (not the warbond weapons, just the old flametrower) and you calm down the community (a band aid solution for now, but still a better solution)
They said it was intentional, but how do you not include the stealth buffs to laser weapons? I think it's ok if the devs admit they are learning on the fly.
@deinemuddda1178 and simple can't be the answer? They already got almost everything correct except weapon balancing. Who cares if a certain gun is overpowered since half of the enemies are op too and it doesn't guarantee immortality. You will still get randomly one shotted at times
"just buff everything" isn't an universal solution, but here's the thing, the reason some guns are much more popular is not because they're broken, it's because they *work*. most of the guns in the game just do not have neither the raw power nor the utility to hold back chaff at higher difficulties, which is why weapons with decent AoE, decent stagger/knockback for crowd control, or overall decent power for better TTKs get picked over the more varied, fun options; they make it *possible* to play at higher levels. there's a reason why the high difficulty meta is stealth. in helldivers.
For a game that's constantly being called "dead" by almost everyone with a YT channel, being able to maintain 35-40k daily users is still pretty impressive for a gimmicky hoard shooter. I think being outraged and stirring the pot is part of the games identity at this point. We are either fighting the bugs, fighting the bots, or fighting the devs.
@@ReforgeGaming oh certainly. I agree with your "embrace the chaos" idea for weapons etc. The thing that kind of killed the game for me was there's just no real "grind" outside of get super credits and samples. If we had more gear grind (attachments/upgrades) or cosmetics tied to challenges like "kill so many Automatons and now you get a crazy skeletonized glowing skin for your gun or character" that would keep me coming back.
The fundamental problem is that most of the available gear is wildly underpowered, so people will use what is viable, only for it to be nerfed because people are using it, not because it’s overpowered
LIVE DISCUSSION - ruclips.net/user/livewxcX2jyFII8
Consider the Following:
-When vehicles were leaked, the devs were quick to say the vehicles would never be in the game due to game engine limits.
-They promised the Steam review cape and that went nowhere.
-Warbonds are released slower and with much less content.
-Every jungle planet or fogged planet drops frame rates in the beefiest of PCs.
-They drag their feet on a full page of listed bug fixes, and went on vacation.
-The social friends menu STILL has major bug issues with cross platforms
-A promised test server?

Right? Arrowhead doesn’t even know what the hell there game even is. There idiots

Did i hear right that it regrows tentacles after they’re destroyed? It would be dumb if it did.

This happened to me as well. Lvl 7-9 just fine. But after every patch the mob density and aggression feels odds. Unrelenting.
I remember when people would claim the Incendiary Breaker was not a good weapon, I would argue with them its a great gun for bugs, and the devs even nerfed a gun most people thought wasn't that good. The devs nerfing got out of control and took all the fun out of the game when they are even nerfing mid-tier weapons
so crazy how stuff like that works out
@@ReforgeGaming it's probably because they nerfed all the guns above it, so it became one of the best guns in the game, so that too go nefed. Its why nerfing just ruins games.

How about buffing all the guns and make them fun and only balance the difficulty levels? Anybody thought about that??
Exactly new enemies like fire resistant deep bug variants mixed in the horde. Plus you get to add that to the story.
They can't balance the high difficulty because they can't even get passed difficulty 5 😂
Rock and Stone!
Just as well its not fun to join a match and see 1 player out of 4 bulldozer the entire map alone.
The thing about Fromsoft games like Elden Ring, it’s true that the enemies and bosses are tough but at least the devs gives the players powerful weapons and magics.
you can't be OP and challenged at the same time. they are literal opposites.

The drawbacks were
Needing to be up close to the enemy, which was especially an issue when facing bots (to the point where having it on a bot mission was pointless)
It also could not take down an enemy like the bile titan, that spawn more and more frequently on higher difficulties and require other strategems to take down
And it had the potential to hurt you and your allies when coming into contact with the flames
This was as well balanced as a strategem can possibly get, but some dweeb, looking at a spreadsheet, saw a high usage rate against bugs and thought it must be overpowered, because they clearly do not play their own game
Meanwhile, the ENEMIES get new toys, new weapons, better, more effective ways of killing us players faster and more efficiently
Tell me, has there been a SINGLE patch where we, the players, were given a weapon that was capable of taking out multiple tough, armored enemies in a reasonable amount of ammo that didn’t have a year long reload time or hasn’t been nerfed into oblivion?
Now, HOW MANY times now have our ENEMIES been given new, stronger, more efficient ways of killing US?
That’s why this game is dying.

I havent had any interest in the warbonds after that and fell off the game hard. I did come back for the latest update, but that was such a mistake.

Yeah, it feels like a completely different dev team took over after the release.
Blame the sweatlords
Thing is, the patrols aren't bugged. The devs intentionally made them auto track the player and deliberately cranked up the spawn rates. Apparently 'stealth' wasn't an intended option so they destroyed it.
@Sorain1 wouldn't doubt it since it has been this way for months, complete morons it's baffling.

I'll agree that nerfs and communication can kill a live service... but I never thought the game had the legs to maintain a "Live Service" level of commitment.
It's a fun time, but it can't be my main game and I have trouble seeing where the expectations that it COULD be... for anyone.
i disagree, the planets, enemies, and content is very flexible
@@ReforgeGaming It looks that way when you start new or due to the chaos that can happen on higher diff, but currently the amount of content isnt really that big. Different planets are just colorswaps with potentially detrimental modifiers, bugs are all the same in the end, running up to you with the intend on meleeing you, bots simply spam whatever weapon they have in your direction. Mission objectives are simple af with little differences in how fun/annoying they are. So while the game has content for a while it starts to get stale after the 100hr mark imho.
I was wondering why the bots have gotten so close to Super Earth. Its the player base going "Let them take it."
It's like they aren't aware the death of their game is around the corner. Space marine 2 will probably be a better bug killing experience.
My friend loved the eruptor until the nerf. He switched to the inc breaker. I laughed a morbid laugh when AH nerfed that recently.

Make it fun
Would make them far more tolerable to me and give some control back to the community who also seem to like lore related changes.
Make us work to correct their fuckups?! Not on your life!
Instead of writing lore to justify a shit disicion mabye dont make the disicion.
Lore would just show a stronger commitment to making the game shit
i do feel they could make use of the STORY of the world to make "excuses" for nerfs and buffs...
bugs shells got stronger - fire damage dont do the same damage as it used to..
bots attacked X supply line making X weapon less effective and not as strong
in return - a successful mission to take over a planet make X weapon super extra strong for the mean time
a successful mission rewardss the helldivers to have free mechs ---
use the buffs and nerfs be part of the story instead of flat game patches
If you design your game for the top 1%, you'll end up with only 1% of the players.
I am done w/ Helldivers. How long do the CEO and devs expect me to stick around when they speak out of both sides of their mouths? Do they think we have nowhere else to go? They are acting like it IMHO.

Mf this aint a pvp game, fix ya glitches and buff the weapons!
a part of me thinks this was one of the balance devs taking advantage of everyone including pilestedt being on vacation
and if that's the case, when Johan gets back from vacation (or worse he started getting notifications while checking in to see how the BIG update went over upon release and see all the backlash) Alexus' and majority of the nerf team are getting sacked or reassigned, the amount of damage done to the game AND studios reputation might never recover at this point.
I don't think this is true at all. They just want it to be really hard, and thought that we wanted it really hard, and they suck at getting it right because they don't playtest their own game. They just change some numbers and wait for us to complain about it.
What part of "REALISM IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN FUN PLEBS!!!!!" don't you understand? 🤣🤣🤣
the consensus is already clear: we want guns that KILL to use on enemies that can KILL. we get like, 29 spawns max, they have infinitely many. we have limited gear, they don't. our gear shouldn't be balanced on a 1v1 basis, it should be balanced on a 1v200 maybe even 1v300 basis, since on higher difficulties getting more than 200 kills is inevitable for all players in the match, and lower difficulties flat out and simply SHOULD NOT BE HARD. anything under D5 can't be considered for nerfing players, only if people are doing shit on those low difficulties should we start looking at numbers.
Man I still love playing this game, I’m really rooting for arrowhead to work this out in a way that keeps the community happy.
Im down with that thought process parker. I think they'll get it right, but this will take time. I have patience and plenty other things to do.

Listening to the community and alienating your fanbase from previous games for the sake of a wider audience will burn you in the long run
i think the launch of the game proves they can have a broader audience

I had a relatively smooth crash free experience, this last update destroyed that i carsh 4 to 5 times a day now
They said it was intentional, but how do you not include the stealth buffs to laser weapons? I think it's ok if the devs admit they are learning on the fly.
Really feels that way
Naw since this is a pve game, buffing everything is the only way. Don't drop mediocre stuff, make it strong and give it variety
That would be too simple
@deinemuddda1178 and simple can't be the answer? They already got almost everything correct except weapon balancing. Who cares if a certain gun is overpowered since half of the enemies are op too and it doesn't guarantee immortality. You will still get randomly one shotted at times
The bots will never take super earth because the guy controling their expansion wont push them any closer than they are for now.
SEAF suddenly gets off their lazy asses and somehow stop the advance before reaching Super Earth🤣
We are either fighting the bugs, fighting the bots, or fighting the devs.
definitely dont ever want folks to think i am saying it is dead, i am advocating for a healthier future tho
No.... they get a little more time, then I take my money elsewhere
The fundamental problem is that most of the available gear is wildly underpowered, so people will use what is viable, only for it to be nerfed because people are using it, not because it’s overpowered
Balance in a PVE game is so dumb. Just buff everything and increase enemy numbers. Problem solved
