This video was a life-saver!! i had no clue about splitting the heat tape. The terminal method is so much neater looking. I did one rack this way. I have 4 more racks I'm going to rewire!! thanks so much
Three really goodways to do this Justin and l have never seen so far anyone show completely how to do this. l have never used it but l am thinking about getting some myself. much cheaper then buying heat mats.
thanks for the great tutorial. I'm planning to build a snake rack. I'm not a great electrician and was wondering the plastic covering of the heat tape is insulated as long as I don't have the open end? didn't want to electrocute myself by just touching the heat tape.
Awesome video, the only one that made sense that I've seen! Hopefully someone sees this, but is it possible to wire several pieces together to one outlet plug in? I have a multi level rack, and I'd like the 10 levels to operate on one wall plug at the bottom. How would this be achieved?
Some people will run one continuous piece of heat tape zig zagging in and out of the rack ...I cut sections that fit under the back of the tubs and wire them together
Hi, first of all, very helpful video. Im building a DIY 8-9 level rack from a home depot utility shelf. How many thermostats do you suggest? I'm new to all this and not sure if I can just run 1 for the whole thing or if different shelves need different thermostats. thanks
I love this video. So thorough!!! Many options to choose from. I prefer the inlets myself! One thing I may suggest is to use gorilla tape for the probe. The foil tape can mess with the probes and cause faulty readings!! I actially use thr tape that reptile basics send with their kits!!! Great video Justin!
This is the best heat tape tutorial I have seen. Outstanding demonstration..
I appreciate that and thanks for watching 🤜💥🤛

I use the eyelet kit that had the anvil and punch from Joann's and hit it with my framing hammer. One hit and it's flat as a flitter.

DO NOT PUT ALUMINUM METAL TAPE ON THE HEATING, USE ELECTRICAL TAPE!!
