Loading a ZX spectrum 48k game from cassette

Hard reality, it takes 3 minutes to load the title screen, then another 5 minutes to load level one.
The dial-up modem noises stem from the fact that the Sinclair ZX does indeed use a modulator-demodulator, or if you prefer, AD/DA converter for bi-directional conversion between analogue and digital signals.

This retro machine is a British 8-bit "micro computer" from the late Clive Sinclair... it seems to rock something of a 'Dark side' look :-D
