He was responsible and not much fun, she was fun and not much responsibility, they really worked well, and over time she comes to really see the value of his responsibility mantra. I love what this comic said about her, she hates how she’s the bad girl, and he was the first man she ever loved. Her origin story is tragic, and I want more comics with Peter and Black Cat. I like how Felicia and Mary Jane became friends in this comic

With all the money she's made over the years stealing, she could've retired by now but just Like with Selina Kyle, it's not about the money, she literally lives for the thrill of a good score. I absolutely love that comic, and yeah the jokes were fun. I couldn’t stop smiling, and Peter talking about that dream was funny. I find the conflict between his affection for both of them is fun, and I definitely want to see more of it.
K, so. A bunch of thoughts here. 1. I love Mary Jane going around fixing people's lives. If we could get a mini of her just going around and helping heroes or washed up villains feel better about themselves. She doesn't need to break up with Pete for that. His life doesn't revolve around her, her's shouldn't for him. 2. So, the MJ FH PP throuple is not a bad idea. My main issue with the Krakoa throuple is WE NEVER EXPLORE THAT DYNAMIC. We explore the Nova/Gamora/Star-Lord thing much further, and that story ends with them finally accepting it's a thing, before we can play with it further. If we go full throuple, I want to explore it, not make it window dressing like X-Men did. 3. I thought the joke was funny. I mean, of course Spidey had that dream.
That's because no one needed or wanted the Krakoa throuple. Scott/Jean/Logan is just toxic no matter what way you put it, and most fans were happy when it ended with Scott and Jean back to being a couple. Not to mention it was greatly out of character for both Scott and Logan. The Nova/Gamora/Star Lord thing didn't work because fans expect her to end up with Adam Warlock again, and Gamora with Star Lord is entirely an MCU thing that should not be leaking over into the comics. Now, Peter/Mary Jane/Felicia being a throuple makes a lot more sense and would probably be a good idea, since Peter keeps bouncing back and forth between the two, and fans don't really want either MJ or Felicia to end up with anyone else but Peter. We already know that Felicia is bisexual, so it wouldn't be a problem for her. As for Mary Jane... well, she's a model/actress so this shouldn't be a problem for her either. lol
You may love this then! I was recently reading an older Spidey comic (A Friend In Need) and while fighting the Hulk, Peter refers to himself as "The big apples number one masochist"
As someone who has read ASM for years... this was a fun one-shot! I do think the story really boiled down to the last few pages and exploring what MJ and Felicia's dynamic will be moving forward. I hope to see them interact more as we move into a new era of Spidey in April.
I think MJ/SpiderGwen is a more interesting relationship to explore, especially as there hasn't been a lot of exploration of how comic book characters handle the weirdness associated with the emotional reactions to meeting alternate-Universe versions of people they know (or themselves).
@@rickrivers2021 Don't you think that would make MJ's reaction to SpiderGwen even more interesting? She looks and sounds just like MJ's old rival, but acts like and fulfills the role of Peter Parker. Hard to say how she might react. Anything from anger and jealousy to sexual attraction wouldn't be unexpected.

Not gonna lie them gal palling at the end was pretty nice, Felicia and MJ have so much in common that it really explains why they clash at times but still get along at the end of the day and them mentioning Gwen as her being the perfect one when compared to MJ was so fitting. Also the joke in the hospital room where Peter cracks the threesome joke is so very much Peter, it's cheesy but very on point for him.
One thing I like about your videos is that you speak on many different perspectives one could have while giving your own, so no one is left out. We’re able to come to our own conclusion about how we feel instead of the narrative being controlled. Anyway, nice vid as always.
Never thought in a million years that someone would name drop Tracy like that on an actual comic review. Many on the forums were joking that she is writing her parody as the issue dropped. I would not be surprised and kinda looking forward to it. Damn Sasha, you always come with new surprises. But in all seriousness, as a fan that ships Peter & Felicia as the OTP AND also believes that logically that MJ and Peter are just right for each other, this one shot was a blast. I miss the days when all 3 had constant back and forth because that is a rare dynamic in not just comics but any other medium in general. I like that one issue of Marvel Knights Spider-Man were MJ has an implicit understanding that Felicia is one of the only people that she can count on when Peter is doing his thing as Spider-Man, also referenced in a the Friendly Neighborhood issue during the Civil War era. Although some fans read into this that Marvel is setting the stage for a poly superhero, and even though there's some legitimate good writing that can be had, that's too much to read in the fan service rose-tinted glasses. This issue is fun and makes me wish that MJ and Felicia interacted more. Hopefull Amazing MJ can get some sort of comeback like Black Cat mini had because there could be a chance for another crossover there.
This issue was a fun read, and I picked it up because of how much I've been enjoying Jed MacKay's writing. The cover featured plenty of cake but lacked rib cages. Milage will vary. All that said, I'd love to see these two get a mini series or something.
I think Peter's "joke" was less about an actual dream and more about waking up while still being in pretty bad shape and likely already tired, sees the two in Black Cat costume, "nope, I don't wanna even know" and them just says something to make them both roll eyes and let him sleep some more. MJ on the windows imo works. Her BC costume clearly has suction cups on the soles, she is a rather fit actress and likely is used to wirework in this day and age, she is also a dancer with a lot of agility (also aided by having at least some basic combat training), her experience swinging around with Pete probably also helps, and overall she is doing something way more tame than what Tom Holland (a real actor not in a comic book) does while in Spidey's costume, or even Christ Hemsworth wirework stunts.
I've literally been wanting an MJ and Black Cat comic for YEARS, since they were developed as really unique opposites that you still don't see often developed in comics, ie MJ loves Peter Parker first and Spider-Man second, while Black Cat loved Spider-Man first and Peter Parker second, so as the two women closest to Parker/Spidey on both sides kind of set they as perfect foils to each other that can't really happen outside of superhero comics Give me more, call the series "Black & White and Red All Over"
Mary Jane being Black cat sometimes makes sense. This would be a funny thing if this was not the first time and Peter not knowing. You want wig on wig, you want to go all mission impossible.

The Black Cat’s mask shows so much of her face it would not be practical for hiding her identity. Although I get that such concerns would only be important to the comicbook guy on the Simpsons, And that its looking different is the exact point of it. 😉✌️🤔 My only lament is that Storm doesn’t still have her own original long platinum hair. Never liked the Mohawk or the costume change on Orora. Maybe she at least has her longer hair back now ? - I hope so.
Nobody looks at her face. There's even a comic where she admits the cleavage of most of her costumes is entirely to make sure nobody looks at her face.
I think everyone knows who she is in this point. Actually in her 2020 comic series she goes to prison in the end. So, technically she is a wanted criminal at this point.
Bro go look at Zoey Deschanel with and without bangs and glasses and come back to me. The lines of Black Cat's mask break up the angles of her face, much like Clark Kent's glasses or ZD's bangs/glasses

But this was writer Dan Slott not understanding continuity where Felicia's identity had been public knowledge for years.

I liked this issue a lot. I have always been a fan of Black Cat since the 90's cartoon. Even in that, MJ was end game for Peter, but Black Cat always seemed more of Spider-Man's match. I like having them both, for the else world stories where Peter definitively chooses one life over the other, I feel like both need to be in the mythos
Now I'm imagining Count Nefaria queuing for a premier with a bunch of regular folk who are desperately trying to hide how terrified of him they are because if they caused a commotion he'd probably destroy them like ants.
Espeacially with how insanely powerful Ionic powersets have gotten over time. I think only Spidey, Luke Cage, and Hulk habe power-crept so hard. Oh and the Siblings Storm.
Right after One More Day, they introduced Jackpot and teased that she might be MJ. I thought that would've been much cooler than the random nobody that ended up being Jackpot, as it would've been nice for Peter's two greatest love interests to have opposite powers, one good luck, one bad luck.
The "dream" could have also been a dominatric thing. Well, double since it was apparently both of them. Or possibly just a fight between the two and he gets "hurt" in the middle.

I appreciate that from a few different issues now (but understanding they're all from the same writer) that although Felicia may be interested in a relationship with someone, it's not Peter and she cares about him as a friend - albeit with definitive flirting. I feel like that pulls her out of "Amy Rose"/crazy stalker girlfriend trope territory that makes me really hopeful as to how she'll be handled in the future.
7:14 Tombstone being the central villain of that one Gambit mini was interesting. I also liked how that mini proposed a version of The Bar With No name that was a glitzy club full of civilian tourists to dissuade another Scourge incident. Which might be where she saw Rhino.
I can see them having great respect for each other and having playful jabs at each other, but hanging out and going for drinks na they are two different people.

I like to see more female friendships in my comics. I also like the way this was presented, with an adventure and then the heart to heart- as much as I liked She Hulk and Titania's recent encounter, this is the way to do it. Also Mary Jane is awesome, and that needs to be showcased more. I wonder, has MJ met Spider Gwen? I wonder how that would go...
Current MJ is 28-30 (that's Peter's age) and Spider-Gwen is a teenager still in high school. MJ met the real Gwen when they were both 18-19, when Gwen was in college. So current MJ would probably find Spider-Gwen very different from the Gwen she knew, and that's not taking into account her having powers and being a superhero.
I can imagine mj freaking out of seeing spider-Gwen walking around a bit during the day, starting to think that she’s probably seeing ghosts or more clones again till they meet and mj just goes “of course it’s a multiverse situation, what else is new” retort.

Loved this issue! My favorite supporting character is Mary Jane and I love Felicia too! As a single issue it was better/more fun than any issue from ASM Beyond so far, LOL.

I would love to see a series with just Black Cat and MJ with Spidey maybe only in background, perhaps a new character called Red Cat that causes problems for Black Cat (mistaken identity) and MJ (is she the Red Cat or a clone, yes, lets revisit the clone saga mess, or someone else) and it could pose a real threat like someone Peter knows is killed to start the series.
Most of MJ's facial espressions were hilarious and i didnt mind that joke (him mentioning again and for them to be gentle made it funny). Also yes get that wig, +1 over here

Never thought in a million years that someone would name drop Tracy like that on an actual comic review. Many on the forums were joking that she is writing her parody as the issue dropped. I would not be surprised and kinda looking forward to it. Damn Sasha, you always come with new surprises.
But in all seriousness, as a fan that ships Peter & Felicia as the OTP AND also believes that logically that MJ and Peter are just right for each other, this one shot was a blast. I miss the days when all 3 had constant back and forth because that is a rare dynamic in not just comics but any other medium in general. I like that one issue of Marvel Knights Spider-Man were MJ has an implicit understanding that Felicia is one of the only people that she can count on when Peter is doing his thing as Spider-Man, also referenced in a the Friendly Neighborhood issue during the Civil War era. Although some fans read into this that Marvel is setting the stage for a poly superhero, and even though there's some legitimate good writing that can be had, that's too much to read in the fan service rose-tinted glasses. This issue is fun and makes me wish that MJ and Felicia interacted more. Hopefull Amazing MJ can get some sort of comeback like Black Cat mini had because there could be a chance for another crossover there.

This issue was a fun read, and I picked it up because of how much I've been enjoying Jed MacKay's writing. The cover featured plenty of cake but lacked rib cages. Milage will vary. All that said, I'd love to see these two get a mini series or something.

I think Peter's "joke" was less about an actual dream and more about waking up while still being in pretty bad shape and likely already tired, sees the two in Black Cat costume, "nope, I don't wanna even know" and them just says something to make them both roll eyes and let him sleep some more.
MJ on the windows imo works. Her BC costume clearly has suction cups on the soles, she is a rather fit actress and likely is used to wirework in this day and age, she is also a dancer with a lot of agility (also aided by having at least some basic combat training), her experience swinging around with Pete probably also helps, and overall she is doing something way more tame than what Tom Holland (a real actor not in a comic book) does while in Spidey's costume, or even Christ Hemsworth wirework stunts.

I've literally been wanting an MJ and Black Cat comic for YEARS, since they were developed as really unique opposites that you still don't see often developed in comics, ie MJ loves Peter Parker first and Spider-Man second, while Black Cat loved Spider-Man first and Peter Parker second, so as the two women closest to Parker/Spidey on both sides kind of set they as perfect foils to each other that can't really happen outside of superhero comics
Give me more, call the series "Black & White and Red All Over"

Bro go look at Zoey Deschanel with and without bangs and glasses and come back to me. The lines of Black Cat's mask break up the angles of her face, much like Clark Kent's glasses or ZD's bangs/glasses
@@eldragonball14 In that story it was a plot point that SpOck (Doc Ock in Spider-Man's body) had beaten her up and gotten her arrested, so her identity as Black Cat was made public.
But this was writer Dan Slott not understanding continuity where Felicia's identity had been public knowledge for years.

I liked this issue a lot. I have always been a fan of Black Cat since the 90's cartoon. Even in that, MJ was end game for Peter, but Black Cat always seemed more of Spider-Man's match. I like having them both, for the else world stories where Peter definitively chooses one life over the other, I feel like both need to be in the mythos

Right after One More Day, they introduced Jackpot and teased that she might be MJ. I thought that would've been much cooler than the random nobody that ended up being Jackpot, as it would've been nice for Peter's two greatest love interests to have opposite powers, one good luck, one bad luck.

If Marvel was into taking risks, Black Cap could be an interesting ship. Cap is always more interesting in contrast to somebody flawed.
They need to follow this up with a Black Cat/MJ/Spider-Gwen miniseries. I was to see MJ and BC both POd at Gwen for being "perfect". Throw in Jessica Drew as the voice of reason so Gewn can have throw away lines like "I used to be so mad at you for getting to the Spider Woman name before me."
That was amazing Sasha, adding in STAS🤣🤣🤣 made him sound like Shocker was the White Whale Spidey would hunt down.

Hehe, Tracy Scoops... most of her comics are too short for my taste but her hability to give the characters clear and striking personalities in just a few panels is admirable

I appreciate that from a few different issues now (but understanding they're all from the same writer) that although Felicia may be interested in a relationship with someone, it's not Peter and she cares about him as a friend - albeit with definitive flirting. I feel like that pulls her out of "Amy Rose"/crazy stalker girlfriend trope territory that makes me really hopeful as to how she'll be handled in the future.

7:14 Tombstone being the central villain of that one Gambit mini was interesting. I also liked how that mini proposed a version of The Bar With No name that was a glitzy club full of civilian tourists to dissuade another Scourge incident. Which might be where she saw Rhino.
I can see them having great respect for each other and having playful jabs at each other, but hanging out and going for drinks na they are two different people.
I honestly would love to see a what if story, that being “what if MJ & Felicia Hardy swapped places”, it would be nice tbh

I think the writer could have easily eliminated anyone’s disbelief in MJ being able too pull off Her part in the Tombstone Heist with 1 thought Bubble, either while going down the side of the building, or once sitting in the car “ Thank God for that Stunt Training I’ve been taking for more Action Film parts” … Loved MJ & Felicia’s Facial Expressions throughout the comic, especially in the Peter Threesome Dream statement panel …Although I don’t want to see MJ become part of Felicia’s “Crew” I would Love to see this writer get them back together in 🤔 maybe a mini series where they have too deal with Tombstone seeking Payback 🤩 Keep Up The Great Work Sasha 🖖🏾

I like to see more female friendships in my comics. I also like the way this was presented, with an adventure and then the heart to heart- as much as I liked She Hulk and Titania's recent encounter, this is the way to do it. Also Mary Jane is awesome, and that needs to be showcased more. I wonder, has MJ met Spider Gwen? I wonder how that would go...
Current MJ is 28-30 (that's Peter's age) and Spider-Gwen is a teenager still in high school. MJ met the real Gwen when they were both 18-19, when Gwen was in college. So current MJ would probably find Spider-Gwen very different from the Gwen she knew, and that's not taking into account her having powers and being a superhero.
I can imagine mj freaking out of seeing spider-Gwen walking around a bit during the day, starting to think that she’s probably seeing ghosts or more clones again till they meet and mj just goes “of course it’s a multiverse situation, what else is new” retort.

I would love to see a series with just Black Cat and MJ with Spidey maybe only in background, perhaps a new character called Red Cat that causes problems for Black Cat (mistaken identity) and MJ (is she the Red Cat or a clone, yes, lets revisit the clone saga mess, or someone else) and it could pose a real threat like someone Peter knows is killed to start the series.
