For anyone interested: I ran the farm with 2 (as in the video) and 4 floors. With a Looting III sword, it took about 6 minutes and 10 seconds to get a full shulker worth of rockets (9 stacks of gunpowder) with 2 floors. With the two extra floors (4 floors in total) it took about 5 minutes and 30 seconds to get the same amount of gunpowder. If you ask me, not worth the extra materials and hastle. The farm is good as it is in the video.Nice video man, excellent farm. Simple and effective.

i would just like to mention that this is a java only farm. Gor bedrock users this farm makes like 16-32 gunpowder and the farm also makes spiders spawn in it. Just to save you some time if your on bedrock and want to build this. I’d reccomend another farm specified for bedrock.
I made a creeper farm of shulkercraft and guess what this is farm than shulkercrafts one shulkercraft one produced almost 600-700 gunpowder in an hour and this produced 3240 per hour the shulkercrafts was also harder to build I would always recommend this farm tnks to voltrox 😀😁💯
Yes That design was pretty out dated i built it as well and it worked but pretty slow.i guess the reason this one works this good is that its in the sky
omg it works so fast for such a cheap and easy farm thank you also works if u want other mobs to spawn too, i didnt put trap doors on top of 2 spawning platforms so now i have mostly gun powder but some bones etc as well
this was my FIRST EVER time building any kind of mob farm. this tutorial was super easy to follow and i managed to get this thing fully built (after like 5 hours getting all the cobble) in around 45 minutes. this also produces a TON of exp and gunpowder and started spawning creepers before i even finished the roof. this is definitely an amazing farm if youre a total beginner like me!!!
My advice for Bedrock: Follow all the instructions except do this instead: - Do not use any slabs to prevent spiders, you can’t stop them from spawning unless you stop the creepers as well (they both need 2X2 in bedrock). Accept the spiders. - replace all stairs/walls with solid blocks - replace roof with solid blocks, but make sure to put torches up there. Other than those things, do everything as he suggests and you’ll have plenty of creepers (and spiders) spawning.

I just have to say that I've built this farm in 3 hardcore worlds and have been able to get 3700 gunpowder per hour for a farm that only takes like an hour and a half to make + materials. Saying that lots of people say 2000 an hour is good for farms much harder to build, but they forgot about a real time saver, looting!
"For the first step, we need to build all the way up with our 2 stacks of dirt." I used over 6 stacks of gold blocks for this step to create pillars and a foundation at the bottom because I made your gold farm first.
REALLY WELL DONE! great editing and a good working design. the only thing i can really recommend for the video is an explanation as to why you're doing certain things.. like why you used stairs on the walls for example, i'd like to be able to make a style change and might not want walls so stuff like that is handy to know
@Voltrox, thanks for the build/tutorial! This is a good farm for SMP. I prefer this build compared to the other creeper farms using water dispensers or hundreds of cats. After building it in survival I have a few recommendations: • Building a bit higher than 2 stacks of blocks would avoid being in the cloud layer at the AFK/Killing area of the farm (notice in video there are no clouds). • For the last level of the farm, instead of placing the trapdoors on the ceiling first like in the video, I find it's easier to place slabs then place the trapdoors from underneath as per the first level. • Activating the farm from the inside is a challenge. Bring more blocs to have easy in and out access to the farm from the outside because as soon as you remove the torches from the platforms creepers may spawn and you don't want them destroying your work 💥. still works flawlessly in java 1.19, although i recommend that survival mode players bring an extra stack of ladders and building blocks to make traversing the build easier.
if you want to get other mobs than only creepers you can just remove the slabs and trapdoors for one of the floors and then its a xp farm +you still get really many gunpowder (it still works on 1.19.3)

You can do a afk and a xp farm in 1 when you just turn the fire from the campfire off. And when you want to have a afk farm again you just need to turn the fire on. In addition the half block has the same sice like the campfire
@@michaelaumann6533 It works for me...and still works in 1.19.2. Are you building it in the middle of the ocean? It really helps with spawn rate. Also note that this farm only works for Java, not bedrock.
@@aeropondus it still works after updating my world although I saved the chunk in which my farm is so this part did not reset when I updated it. However, the mechanics of it still work.
I thought it’ll take 50 minutes to finish but it actually took me 6 hours lol, a really good farm for java and its amazing but takes a lot of effort but it’ll pay off.
So this isn't for Bedrock I take it? Because I just spent some time building it and 1. Stairs are transparent blocks, so no good for walls. 2. Once I covered a corner with opaque blocks I started getting skeletons and spiders, not a single creeper. Really glad I didn't start this on my survival world. If this is only for Java the title should get changed.

just finished building this in 1.19.3 java, works really well thank you Voltrox! Similar to others I did 1 layer with trapdoors and the other without so that I could get zombies and skelly spawns on top of creeper - highly recommend this for XP as well as Loot early/mid or late game!
Some notes for this farm: You should use a water bucket instead of ladders, its way faster and uses way less resources, and you should bring 8 water buckets because it doesn’t say you need water buckets for the farm. Otherwise great tutorial!

That's because shulkercraft build it above ground, try to build it above ocean too and then compare with this, which one is faster and more?
its obvious that at the ground mob spawning so mob cap is filling faster and slows farm rate

Very good farm!! With looting 3 sword I got around 72 stacks of gunpowder in an hour and with campfire I got around 25 stacks in an hour.

If you guys are having a problem to get such a huge amount of block in the beginning, use netherack or dirt
Build a nether portal at your AFK spot so you don't have to climb 128 ladder

You can also turn this into a hybrid farm by leaving some cubes without slabs and trapdoors.
