Not been on camp with the group for a while now. Joining them on camp in jan/fab, hopefully there will be time for some filming.

What would be the most important metric of the ones in the chart you would use to make a decision? Also, do you think that the order in which you testes makes a difference?

    RedBull before a Lactate test?

    Great testing.
I wonder how Crocs would do like that guy who run sub 66min in Crocs.
1h at the same course with around the same weather and temp, lots of runs with different shoes and a lower effort with perhaps 70-75% of max heart rate and then compare the shoes by only looking at average heart rate ? Just a thought..
This test was so short and so hard that it's hard to get really accurate reading ( how would the data look if you did this session once again but with same shoes every set... You would probably still have different reading and ave heart rate data ?)

So the lowest power and lactate would indicate better performance? ie... same speed with less power needed and also having less lactate?

Yes, they are, I call them 2% ;) Good for the value! They where the first shoe out, and that helps a bit on some of the results...

    What was the testing protocol?

      Good WU then:
      6 minutes on each shoe on 18,5km/t - 1%
      4min rest between.

    This test is
absurd. I don't mean to offend, but it's what I think . The shoes are designed to run on asphalt, not on tape. On asphalt the shoe behaves differently, even on the track, so on the track you run with nails and on asphalt you cannot. Tell the person doing the test to try to run on asphalt only with socks as he does on tape, and try to do it for 42km. IF EVERYTHING WAS SO SIMPLE YOU WOULD BE DESIGNING SHOES AND DIDN'T MAKE ABSURD "TEST".

      Tnx for your comment.
The tape is to keep the STYRD power meter on when not having shoes on on the last test. 30-40 years ago people won big marathons without shoes... test-runner Lars has done some training without shoes.
We want to know the how the shoe affect us, not design.
I would not call the test absurd. Lots of people run and train on treadmills, and use the next% on treadmills. If you have taken a lactate profile and gotten a spesifikk threshold speed, it would be interesting to know it the speed difference in different shoes. and if so, how much.
Doing a test outside on asfalt would be ideal. But that is so not simple!! ;) You have to run on the same speed, or intensity whitch is hard. The speed on the mill is constant. Outside you also have to in counter wind. Witch there is a lot of on the west cost of Norway. And lastly. We don't have a mobil apart to measure O2 .

@@mikaliden9967 1. Abebe bikila made 2h.15m.16 barefoot and 2h.12m 12 with shoes, both world records at the time. There is no more to say.
      2. I totally agree that outside the tape it is almost impossible to perform the test. The tape is useful for stress tests, but not to measure the performance of a material that is not designed and optimized for use on tape.
      3. The test is done with good intention, no doubt, but honestly it is of no use. I have been running for more than 25 years and on tape I can run barefoot, as shown in the video,.
      but not on asphalt
