    I saw somebody say it, and I feel like it's worth re-iterating. This type of backstory could be generalized to any fantasy horror undead thing where she was brought back in some other Gothic fantasy city and everything else was the exact same and it would've still been a very good, intricate backstory that would be not that far from the norm. But her decision to make it based on the Briarwoods and what they did was solely a love letter to her friends at the table and all the critters out there, and it just makes it that much more awesome to us

    I guessed this on a whim in a conversation with my gf. Later on, she saw this episode live and told me “you were right.” I didn’t know what I was right about, and she wouldn’t spoil it for me. When I finally got to watch it, it did break me. I had to cry, couldn’t shake it. The way she described it from a first-person perspective was so nonchalant as if she was over it, but knowing the story behind it from watching Campaign 1 and TLoVM and still putting a new angle to that aspect of the story just hit my core. Anyone who says Marisha sucks probably doesn’t realize how great of an actor she is. This scene proved beyond a shadow of a doubt her prowess, imho.

      I believe this comes from something quite real and that’s why it is so effective. Marisha has traumas in her past (obvi not being killed lol) and she covered some in her after dark interview. Songs like “I am here” are on Beau’s playlist and there’s a line in it that goes “I’ve already seen the bottom so there’s nothing to fear”. I think this is a pretty good example of why people say “write what you know”; she’s never been literally undead (I assume) but she sure as hell knows what it’s like to survive.

    Words truly cannot express how shooketh I was at that reveal. It was AMAZING story telling, and a call back to something we may have forgotten about(were it not for the animation now). And even still, further tying the world together by bringing, essentially, a cannon fodder character into the light and making an opening to revisit the old story/characters. Maybe even make one a villain of sorts for Laudna...

      Regarding the first campaign, if you mean the audio and video quality, it gets better as they reorganize the set and work out the kinks.
      If you mean the first story arc (i.e., Kraghammer), it's relatively short. You can jump to Episode 16 for the beginning of the next story arc.
      If you mean Tiberius/Orion, he leaves the group after Episode 27.
      In all three cases, you can jump to Episode 28 and see a huge improvement over the first episode. In fact, most long-time fans recommend it.

    I saw someone suggesting that she wasn't Vex's double but actually Vax's
    She couldn't be Keyleth's because her description of what she looked like when she woke up didn't match Keyleth at all
    The only reason she'd be Vex's double is she's a woman
    But Vex and Vax always looked so similar
    She woke up in leathers, not furs
    No mention of a feather or a blue dress or anything particularly detailed (which Vex's wardrobe was always more detailed and unique than Vax's black rogue leathers)
    She just says "I woke up in leathers"
    She has a raven's skull she put on Pate (maybe put on her when she was hung or maybe Marisha's Vax Easter egg to hint her identity)
    And it'd make more sense for Marisha's character to be Liam's character's body double
    The idea that both Liam and Marisha's characters in this campaign are almost love letters to Keyleth and Vax makes me so giddy
    Also I know in the animation, Vax's double was a man pre hanging BUT the animation was done before campaign 3 was even in prep so details can change
    I'd then assume her mother was Vex and her father was Percy because then that's also a love letter to them two as Launda is, in a very weird way, a portrayal of Percy and Vex's child
    But maybe that's going too much into it

    • @bestofcriticalrole
      @bestofcriticalrole  2 года назад +3

      I like the theory. Sadly she confirmed in the talk show that Laudna was made as Vex's double in the tree

    • @giuliagrosso1804
      @giuliagrosso1804 2 года назад +2

      Also Vax and Laudna both have black hair while Vex has brown. And how easy would it be to find a man with hair as long as Vax's? It would probably be easier to body double him with a woman especially when he was already quite androgynous

  • @angriestjoker
    @angriestjoker Год назад

    I wonder if Pate and the rest of Laudna’s creations were named after the dishes served to her before the hanging
