I played very well. In fact my piano teacher that lived in a rich house when I was 17 decided that she couldn't give me any more lessons. She had a grand piano in her house my mom could not afford that but she sent me to this lady so I could get lessons. The second time I saw her she said I was too good he said I needed to go to college to become a professional. Well to this day I've been having problems and yes I did buy that keyboard The person that was playing this keyboard very well showed me how it worked this one had I could record my background noise then I could go ahead and play with them with my left hand and then record that. And then I could play with my right hand because I was having problems with my left very good I could make beautiful music with it and I hope that's what you can do with your keyboard because if it if I can't I would like to check one out in Madison Wisconsin and if I could find my original keyboard I would love to Play it again. Because I miss my keyboard a lot and sometimes I get really emotional especially when I talk to my wife about it. It was very good at my piano I was so good like I said I was going to be a professional but for some reason God and I know a lot of people don't believe in God but I do a lot of other people do, go back to my keyboard it was a very wonderful keyboard but my hands started tightening up on my left because I have a condition to give me nerve damage. So if you know someone that has a keyboard like that and it records instruments it records percussion it records background noises and a records what you play with your right hand well trust me I'm going to want to see this but if you know somebody in Madison that has one please let me know. My wife doesn't have a lot of money because I've been in and out of nursing home hospital nursing hospital I have a lot of nerve damage but I plan on fixing this if I can and if I can I would like to have a keyboard like that like you have or a keyboard that does all that stuff because mine did and right now my keyboard if I bought it new would be over $2,000 I do not have that kind of money. My wife is very nice wife she said that she would buy me another keyboard but if it doesn't play like the one I had I don't want it. So search around and let me know because I'm getting really excited about playing my keyboard and at the nursing home that I am right now in they have electronic keyboard is more like a piano that will not fit in my house and also I would like to have a stand so that I can sit down next to it I'm going to wheelchair right now I plan I don't know if that will happen I plan on getting back to walking again I walked about 6 years ago. I am true to my word I really do want another keyboard but I don't want to play keyboard I want the keyboard like yours I know you modified that so that everybody can listen to you. That's what I want I don't know if I have the money to be able to everybody listen to my keyboard but without the speakers and stuff that you have is still played just as Nice and trust me if you know somebody in Madison or around around Madison that still has this I would really enjoy I would be so happy I wish I could do something for you but I don't even know you.
Wow Yamaha, you better give us more than this for $2,500! I like the flute and harmonica patches. This update is really going to scare Korg, Nord, Roland, Kawai, Kurzweil, Casio, etc. Yamaha does it again.
Motif is a completely different line. The Montage/MODX is what you need to compare that to. The CP series is a stage piano inspired by the Nord system of quick and easy access to sounds and modifications.
love this.. only thing I don't understand why they didn't add is the drawbars for the organs like they have in the Reface YC...cmon Yamaha...this is seriously making me consider a competitor, it is a must have for a stage piano now a days
there are 30 new sounds. The update file size is 1.3GB. I have a graphic that would spell out the new sounds by name and location, but no way to include it here… so: SUB / Pad/Strings 09-17 SUB / Chromatic Perc. 06-09 SUB / Others 09-25
Hello yamaha. a week ago i got my cp 88 and i wanna record digital and video record as done in this video, how can this be done? I have a iphone 13 pro max.
Hi, did anyone notice how the master volume in the CP73/88 is extremely low and maybe knows how to change it? I've tried it with different headphones and speaker with essentially no difference
Is it resolved? I want to buy cp88, how low is the volume? I use Sony mdr7506 for headphones and Yamaha hs5 for speakers. Can you hear me well if I turn the volume towards 2 o'clock? Can you expect the sound quality of this video without any additional equipment? Thank you
Agreed. That's the only reason I'm holding off. Hopefully they'll update it soon to match the p515. My old Roland fp7 had string resonance etc and that was at least 12 years ago. Come on Yamaha! Do it and your sales will explode! :P
Mp11se is still the king for reasons such as these. Yamaha came close with the CP88. Keybed is great, features wise its behind even their own p515 lol.
Montage is a tricky beast. It doesn’t have sounds or presets in the classic sense, it has “Performances”. But you can find individual sounds in the “Part” section of a Performance, by tapping on any Element tab at the bottom, go to Category Search from the Element selection in the upper-right corner, and typing in the name of the sound you’re trying to find. The Montage is a super nice, powerful synth, but it’s editing and sound architecture is radically different than the Motif. Sometimes that aggravates the heck out of me!
Yamaha CP stage piano updates without New Acoustics Pianos!!!!! 😕Please Yamaha... More AP... Warm Acoustic Pianos, European A. Pianos... Like a Nord Keyboards. ⚫🔴🎹🎹🎹🎹🎹🔴⚫
In 1988 I bought a keyboard just like this. The guy in the music shop was playing this one day. He was playing it very well just like I could but I did not have the keyboard. Back in the day I played piano I played for 13 years.
Kalimba, Harmonica, Flute... yeah, that's exactly what I was looking for in a stage piano. Why would I bother getting new piano or e-piano sounds in a stage PIANO. I love the UI concept of the CPs. That hands on approach with dedicated effects for each sections is awesome. But Yamaha crippled those instruments for no apparent reason. No sympathetic string resonance in 2019? And why is there no REAL FM synth section for the DX pianos? You're Yamaha for Christ's sake. You had the DX series, SY77/99, FS1r and now the Montage. How can you offer sampled DX pianos in a 2019 top notch product? Why would I chose the CP series over a Nord Grand with lifetime access to the phantastic Nord library which is constantly growing? If Kalimbas are your answer, you're screwed.
Please leave off the flutes and sounds we don't use and give us a slap bass, some mini moog bass sound, maybe a another electric bass option. All of the sounds in the cp 73 and 88 are great. But for people like myself, it's a deal breaker without bass sounds I can use. It's a shame ,this is the instrument I've been hoping someone would make for years ,particularly Yamaha. Unfortunately the closest thing to what I'm looking for is the korg sv2 . I've had 2 cp pianos the 50 and 40 but was waiting for a simple non menu diving live rig.
That big layer at 1:37 - YUM! Actually all the sounds are really nice. What a cool update, making this instrument even better.

Fantastic! Well done yamaha. Brings me closer to the purchase (to replace my old friend P80 ;) If only you added a Cutoff master or section filter.
Marek Winski agreed. There’s a cutoff parameter in the pedal assignable so I’m hoping I can use the FC7 pedal to control but haven’t gotten to it yet.
Please add the function TAP TEMPO on the Delay Section! I have the Yamaha CP88, anche it is not possible to set a tap tempo.

He demonstrates a flute sound. Where is it?
One thing that i still can't understand until now how to change the release amount / level on this thing
I use a Motif ES equipped with the AP, DX and VL boards plus the breath controller. None of these are on CP88.
