    To get around the scissor thing on planes you can bring a dental floss container and use the top to cut your thread! That's what I used to do when I was sewing pointe shoe ribbons on planes ;)

      I used to have something that looked a bit like a Pac-Man character, but the mouth had a little blade. It was targeted at cross stitchers. I don’t know if it’s still available or even passes the tests now x

    My earliest memories are of my sweet grandma sitting in front of the tv with tatting or knitting or quilting or some kind of hand work in her lap working happily while she watched! This brought back those warm memories and gave me some more ideas to add to my list of projects I already do to be productive while enjoying tv. Thanks so much for your creativity!

    Thank you for these great ideas for tv watching, traveling (car, plane, or hotel), or waiting in the car or waiting rooms. It can be hard to choose which fun thing to do today. I have an additional idea someone may also want to try. I take a small crochet hook and thin yarns and make little crocheted flowers, chains, or just small squares. I plan to use them in clusters.

    As I am disabled and live in pain, other than sewing, I have done EVERYTHING thus far in my recliner with trays and a bookshelf next to me. My first journal was a altered book, you had told us about Crafty Irina. I make lots of ephemera and create a mess. This was a wonderful video of new ideas.

    I think the crazy quilt painted and doodled on papers are wonderful. Great idea. I was watching a tutorial somewhere (I watch so many I can never remember which one taught me what). Anyway, the tutorial was about aging paper without needing to tea dye it. This lady used brown shoe polish. Once dried the polish does not rub off, you can go as dark or light as you want and polish comes in lots of colors. She says it goes a long way and it costs her a lot less than using ink and saves the mess of tea or coffee dying. I haven’t tried it yet but I thought I would pass the idea on.

    I don't know if this is a new idea but I tried this and thought I would share. When you separate napkins there are the extra pieces well I hate to waste and so I stamped on them then cut them out, roughly, then glued them down. I made a card with them. I used blue tissue paper then cut out little houses stamped onto the napkin and glued that down and embellished with gems. It worked very well. Sometimes you can't find the napkin you need so that's why I tried this.

    • @ADayInLisasLife3947
      @ADayInLisasLife3947 4 года назад

      Jody Conrad, that's a great idea! And I like reducing what I would have tossed, because we aren't allowed to recycle paper products like napkins and paper towels, even if unused.

    • @lyllydd
      @lyllydd 4 года назад +1

      Cool. What kind of ink do you use to stamp on the napkins? Stazon? Archival? I'm thinking some inks would bleed and look fuzzy, and some might not react well to the glue. I love the printed tissue paper sold for collage, but it gets pricey, and I have a ton of stamps so this could work.

    • @jodyconrad3763
      @jodyconrad3763 4 года назад

      I used to be like that, now Eds has caught up with me and I’m not pushing, pushing to get things done my whole life has slowed down. My sleep isn’t anywhere near being good, but I don’t have loads of things buzzing around in my head. Do this, do that, write reports, get that done for that class, do this for that person, while I’m setting it up I might as well do it another language.
      My mind still isn’t quiet but it’s better than it was. I still do things while I listen to tv, but I can just watch now too....thinking about it, I suppose emailing customers, reading or finding a kindle book, reading the news...yeah, I do more than I first thought 😂

    A mass making sewing tip… separate the sewing into all fabric and fabric/mixed media. This helps save the needles. Swap them out for each type of sewing you are doing.

    Fantastic ideas. Things I make already but not in bulk or while watching tele. Will be getting a little tray ready for after dinner. Thanks Gayle

    I love this one! Spent 20 minutes after trying to find that Grand Hotel paper pad at a reasonable price. Sadly, I didn't find it at a reasonable price :( I just fell in love with that pack!
