    The key to keeping little friends out, is plugging up all the places they can get in form the underside of the camper. Also a trick that so far is working for me is I surrounded my RV carport with LED string lights, this keeps the area lite up at night which seems as this point keeping them away.

      Dryer sheets in all cracks and crevices work great to and don’t leave the mothball smell. Been using every winter for the last 9-10yrs never had a problem with rodents and I live out in farm lands. Cheaper the better. I go straight to the dollar SEL tire for them. Then get a aluminum pan for like cooking a turkey in a pour a small beg of kitty litter in there to keep the moisture down. All good so for both the last 32ft bunkhouse and our new 39ft toy hauler 5th wheel.

    I used those peel and stick tiles on my travel trailer. Removed the very small 1 piece backsplash behind my stove and used these to make the backsplash much much larger. The wife is extremely happy and we have had it on there for 2 years now with no issues. Would definitely use again on a new RV. I didn’t use any other adhesive other than what it came with. I think what you did applying it to the island looks great. Certainly ties in the countertops.

    We added the same tile in our fifth wheel except ours has some blue to give a different color to the dark wood interior. Been up for two years. Only issue so far is heat in the summer. Have a few “top” portions lifting some. Added some glue and back up no issues. Put up as kitchen backsplash and an accent strip through the bathroom, which also helps with splashing water for that sink as well.

    If you boondock, you will get rodents, it’s just a matter of time.
    We use sticky mouse traps when boondocking, we thumb tack them to the tops of each tire......that’s where they come in! And yes, we’ve caught them on the tire trying to get inside the motorhome! We don’t particularly care for glue traps but it works.

    You could not have chosen a better tile color for that kitchen as far as blending in with everything, and you chose the best floorplan there is as far as kitchens go in the length of RV that you have it’s the one I would’ve chosen and will choose as well so you have the extra counter space for your coffee station where it’s located , so it does not have to be put away every day or moved around...

    This is one area that has always annoyed me about RV manufacturers. Their sloppiness when cutting those holes is ridiculous. Cut holes that are the proper dimension for the pipes and we won’t need to fill these holes. For every RV I’ve owned, I’ve taken every single access panel out and had to fill every hole to keep mice out. In our last RV, mice found some way to get in under our shower then climbed up the walls and destroyed the entire ceiling. We caught mice for months. Remember mice can get through a hole smaller than a dime. Maybe with your channel you can influence manufacturers to take more care in this area. Thanks in advance from Canada where rodents like warm places.

  • @miggov66

    The down side to using the steel wool around the pipes is that steel wool is very abrasive and can eventually rub through the pipes due to the vibration when traveling. Ask me how I know ...

    I hope those are ceramic because rodents will chew through all kinds of plastic with no trouble at all, I have seen them chew through old concrete, oh and I have done the lose steel wool thing and they pull that away, too. It surprised me. Those caps and the steel wool need to be anchored, especially the caps since they can push them straight up and chew through them. Rodents will come in anywhere your pipes come out under your bathroom and into your furnace

  • @HappyQuailsLC
    @HappyQuailsLC 2 года назад

    OH and another thing to be aware of is that when they smell food or sense heat coming through from the other side they will chew the hoses on the opposite side clear through in an effort to get past the obstruction, you may be better off trapping them with a Have A Heart trap and taking them very very ( drive) far away and release them

    SOS pads are the best to use. The soap on them acts as a desiccant as well as the steel wool being a nuisance. The mice can eat the wool, the pipes, the panels, and anything else in their way. It’s the soap that makes the big difference. Also if it’s a single pipe, use clip on escutcheons that won’t move
