This video took 3 weeks of non-stop editing to finish. (+ a little Tears of the Kingdom on the side). I don't think the next one will be the follow up to this video, I probably wanna do something simpler first... It depends on how this video performs.
These are the sorta puzzles that make this game special. My only issue with them is that they take so much focus that i forget to concentrate on the fact that the anchor on the sloop isnt centered.
ok, so I am about 6 minutes into this video and honestly dude, this video is AMAZING. For someone who loves SOT but doesn't follow along with this kind of stuff you have made a masterpiece! Thank you so much for the content.
This was super helpful! I would love if SOT hired someone that solely makes new in-game puzzles like this every week. It would be so nice to have some non-procedurally generated puzzles every now and then. And in a year, they would have 52 quality puzzles that new and returning players would love!
9:20 The reason the letters were mirrored was because you had to read them starting at the side the fruit was on, not just left to right or top to bottom.
9:05 "For some reason I still don't understand" The reason those needed to be read a different way is because they're read from the fruit outward, aka in the direction of the spotify link
God ppl are crazy smart. Not only did some group of rare eployees come up with this then get it going with the game, but people are actually solving this. Its good to know the whole world isnt doomed to stupidity 💀
So good at the game that you still managed to finish it by going through the wrong arch and on top of the wrong rock at the end! Great editing though, Geenee, seriously! I hope this does well so we can get the next stage explained.
@@KnightOMurk yeah, I know what you mean and I agree it would be awesome. The main thing that would ruin it is that the answers would be posted online and it would be a requirement that you cheat out the answers to get good gold/exp per hour
17:13 i did this different, i looked at my 6 o'clock, the giant middle rock and to its right there was another arch of wood and trough it there was a big rock a little bit to the south of the island, and there the actual north pointed to the big tree
I love the idea. Much like how runescape did their riddle that the community tried to solve for a helmet. I just wish it was more like runescapes, in game only. Wouldve been more fun and accesible for everyone.
I've been really busy irl to even attempt this, and just from the first puzzle I can see that I definetely don't have the patience or time to try. Props to those who get it, but this is just too much for an average player like me lol
I liked doing the riddles in game. However the outside riddles are stupidly complex. Most of the time i was like you "how the hell were we supposed to know that?" So i just waited for the answers online then did the voyage myself
Was expecting to have the riddle following also be insanely complicated at some point xD but luckily it isnt at least "yet" looking forward to the next video
Honestly the in game voyages were the bast part of the experience for me, and I did enjoy doing my best to decipher the riddles in game. That said, the ones outside the game were my biggest.. gripe(?) with this event. A lot of the puzzles just felt far too convoluted and obscure from the get go, though the worst being the last one which was only solved today, 4 days before the 22nd deadline. Don't get me wrong, I think they absolutely nailed the in game portion, but the riddles outside SoT were just kind of.. infuriating. I felt that a lot of the internet puzzles were harsh on those that can't pull all nighters to work out a wacky internet riddle to get some pixels in game and a real gold skull because they have to work at 4 in the morning, yet a lot more generous to those dwelling in their parent's basment if that makes sense. It just feels like Rare.. didn't understand or forgot that not everyone has the free time to spend hours scouring the internet for every clue for this adventure as many of us are adults with jobs we have to go to and very limited free time? (I've seen quite a few out there that share this sentiment on a few places like reddit, twitter and the comments on the SoT YT channel.) The only ones who really had a chance to complete this event first are typically those with a lot of spare time on their hands which others just.. don't have, leading to a significant disadvantage and even a punishment just for not having all the free time in the world to solve internet riddles. Overall the in game experience was great, brilliant even but everything else was just.. ugh.. I don't have much free time due to the hours I work, and the fact that this event primarily benefited those that had far more free time or just don't work at all is what makes me most disappointed in it, I feel that things like this shouldn't punish people for not having enough free time. "What's that? You work long hours and therefore can't spend all day and night trying to solve our funky internet puzzle? Well that's cool, good luck not having a chance to get those exlusive rewards!" - Rare probably
Imagine getting the final puzzle and... roll for encounter! 1D20 pls. 1= hacker steals your final piece of puzzle, 2-5= skelly gally AND meg spawn on you; you get sleep curseballed in the face and sink with final piece, 6-10= game crash, 11-15= you get get sunk by players while on the seas, 16-19= you get to the outpost but you get killed before turning it in (and final piece stolen), 20= you actually are able to turn in the final piece.
It’s just ridiculous and stupid how hard they made this first part! The first parts suck for all 4 of them but the key missions were fun after you got the stupid hard code!
@@AbsolutePixel ohh wow! so how does it work? Like i need to collect 3 keys and? Is there a website for it? And haha never thought i would get an answer that fast😅
Wasn't expecting a video like this while the game rots away. Then again, what else are you going to make a video on. The game desperately needs life breathed into it, and soon. These mysteries are doing nothing to help.
The mystery sucks. Too hard and poorly thought out. You got to work together so there can be one winner? Why would people cooperate in the final stage when if they figure it out can just screw everyone over and go get the key first. Why work together if you need to go solo? It's gonna turn into a race which is also unfair due to different times around the world and the riddles for finding the dig spots are near impossible due to lack of information and you have no idea what it's talking about it. At least the first mystery made it simple to figure out but the second one is just bullshit and I hate every second. It was made for highly intelligent people. If you're too dumb to understand what's going on you're shit out of luck. I go back to see what's progress was made and I got no idea what's going on, how people get their information or what they do to solve it so im basically useless in this mystery. I hated every second of it. It feels really unfair.
I share a similar sentiment and honestly so do a lot of SoT players it seems. This event _heavily_ benefited those that have a crap ton of free time or just don't work, meaning those of us that do have jobs or live in a separate time zone didn't have a snowball's chance in hell of being the first or even 100th to claim the prize. (Side note I'm from Australia.) It almost feels as though rare forgot other timezones and people with jobs and little free time exist, and that's what disappointed me most about this event. I myself work really long hours and don't have the time to go around the internet Sherlock Holmes style while pulling an all nighter trying to figure out a riddle for some in game pixels and the chance at a irl momento, and the fact that I get "punished" in a sense for that just.. sucks. The in game experience was pretty interesting, I had fun with that I will admit, but everything else outside was just.. frustrating at best and a complete shit show at worst. I'm not even really salty about it, at least I don't feel I am? More than anything I'm just pretty disappointed that you're at a severe disadvantage for this event if you work and lack free time.
@@clockwork3494 yeah and when the mystery ended and I voiced my distaste for the mystery how it's a load of horseshit cause the guy who got it was only GUESSING meanwhile the community is using their brain and trying to find it meanwhile the dude won the contest by guessing, doing the voyage and then is like "hey I solved the riddle" and he revealed when he gets the skull he's going to melt it down.
