I started to take a shot every time one of you said “if his shot improves/if he shoots better” but I had to go to the hospital with alcohol poisoning and missed picks 20-30. Love the show guys, you have great chemistry together.
One of the best NBA pods out there. Always love the draft talk. Coach Spins leaving was a bummer but Bryce has been awesome in his place. Thank you guys for the content!
Bulls taking a guard will be criminal. We have Coby, Caruso, and Ayo.
Having to guard Shai throughout the beginning of the first just for ROB DILLINGHAM to come off the bench would be absolutely disgusting.
I don’t want to draft over Duop Reath is a CRAZY statement
First time watching in RUclips. This is a great visual and way to use the online tools out there. Awesome job
Thanks for tuning in. Hope you subscribed too!
Dillingham to the Thunder wasn’t as absurd as you made it seem. Clear BPA , especially as he said - on his board. Didn’t need to get bullied out of that pick that shouldn’t be how this goes lol
It depends because if we going off soley ofd the guy logic of BPA on his board then sure but if it is including what the team would do then it doesn’t make sense
@@Wrestle_Kingdom I could see Presti drafting Dillingham if still available. They already have an A+++ team with lots of picks coming up in the next few years. You can take a swing at the highest offensive upside available. It’s not like there are some crazy off-the-dribble scorers on that OKC team outside of SGA, J-Dub and Chet. Imagine Dillingham turns into some sort of DeAaron Fox! Even if it’s a bad fit, that becomes incredible value on the trade block. Really don’t see the point of bullying Bryce if your other choice is Tidjane Salaun… and I’m French myself. This dude is a role player at best. You can find role players in free agency, Draft is the opportunity to bet on talent
@@slamdunk2270okc don’t draft players the way fans think okc, wants all there players to have a certain skill set that fit the system if you don’t have those skill sets and playstyle okc not interested in you and dillingham doesn’t fit what okc looks for. It the same thing when fans constantly mock okc traditional big like they been doing the past few years with mark williams, jalen duren, and derick lively etc
Okc don’t care about BPA or were a player is mock they care about fit and skill set okc would draft like 20 players before dillingham and it not because he a bad player it just not what okc wants, also okc don’t mind taking projects as long as that player fits what they look for and tidjane salaun fits what okc looks for also okc don’t need anymore star level players they just need good rotation players from now on
Interesting Question for you guys: Toumani Camara vs Stephon Castle. How close/far apart are they as prospects? obviously they have different positions, different ceilings, but in this draft, with what we know of Toumani today, how close/far would they be from each other?
Devin carter 16’ 8” lmao bros underrated
You're right Portland is going to move off one of the guards and it's going to be Simons. And, yes, Blazer fans are expecting a Simons to Orlando deal involving the #18 pick, and whomever else. We will definitely not be building around Simons. Right now, who we would build around would be the Sharpe, Scoot combination.
As a Hornets fan, I'm all for Castle. I'm also intrigued by Alex Sarr and Cody Williams.
Really how tall is ron holland? He lo9ks 6"5 at m9st but listed at 6 "8 most places
He's probably between 6'6 and 6'7.
Castle is a culture builder too - CHA could use that type of attitude in their locker room. Melo is an unserious leader.
Brandon miller already has been doing a lot of that though
Ja’kobe Walter would be the dream pick for my magic
As a okc fan I wouldn’t hate the tidjane salaun pick but I hope okc keep doing what they did last year and keep bringing players that can play immediately
Hey Sam what is the difference between dilly and garland/maxey
whey they play in college
Maxey is heavier and stronger, and Rob is almost certainly even worse as a defender than the other two.
subscribed just because Bryce and I share the same name!!
Why is Tristan Vuk not a NBA player?
We need more Jaylon Tyson love from Sam
Yeah, like I said to Bryce, I want to do the full deep dive this week for the draft guide and get a better sense of where I stand. I liked him a lot in the flashes I saw earlier in the year, then did not love a lot of what I saw later on. Need to do the full overall look
Guy got bullied out of taking Dillingham for OKC lol. You could have argued that better, stop being so afraid to speak up.
It wouldve been a horrible selection
@@grimlockthethrasher1 Not really. Don't see Wiggins or Joe staying there long. They have Chet locked down at #5, Jdub as a wing and Shai as their lead guard. Dieng is a project wing in the system already. Cason Wallace as a defensive guard, but they could use more off the ball scoring, especially if they use their assets to trade for a big scorer like Lauri.
It's the perfect pick. Not another wing like Poku or Dieng who are raw and won't get the court time to develop because the Thunder are ready to win.
OKC is a 1st seed in the playoffs, therefore they can afford to gamble with a lottery pick. Expect OKC to roll the dice on a boom or bust potential.
Secondly they don’t want to steal the ball from J will or shai. They want the ball in those guys hands. They don’t want to sacrifice their stars getting touches.
They need to ensure possession of the ball and efficiency.
They could use a hungry big who rebounds and sets picks.
My projection for OKC interest
1.) Zach edey
2.) Kelel ware
3.) tidjane salaun
7 foot 4 Zach edey setting a screen for shai is not a bad thing
@@Dunk1It1Hard You can always get project wings later in the draft or no skill bigs. They won't have a chance at Dillingham level guards especially with Kentucky pedigree in that range. Imagine passing on a Quickley or a Maxey type guard because you think only one ball handler is needed on the team.
Ass backwards thinking. James Harden didn't have his best year until he had Chris Paul with him. You need multiple high level ball handlers.
@@KidCudi72 And I want those multiple high level ball handlers to not be no-defense midgets.
sarr + aj johnson on the wizards next time please
Sam I like your drafts except for one thing you really should spin it no matter how it goes its Toronto loses the pick they lose the pick.
Swap Dillingham to Rockets for Cody Williams to OKC, then that’s a solid mock draft. Rob would be perfect off the bench playing alongside Amen, Cam, Tari, and Adams 😮💨
i would like to hear your opinion about Ulrich Chomche. Hes very raw prospect but looks interesting
Not a fan. Think he's way way way way too raw to enter this year's draft having seen him at Hoop Summit. Thought he was about three years away from the NBA if he got there. But has real natural gifts with the size and length, plus plays really hard.
Why do you say Tristan Vukcevic isn't an NBA player? When they finally put him in the last 5-10 games in the season he was looking nice? Am I missing something? Thanks
Also great work guys 👍🏼 love these videos
I've never been a Vukcevic guy. Don't think he has a chance to defend at an NBA level, don't think we saw any of that even with some of the fun late-season offensive stuff. I also really don't like starting the rookie contract clock on a player like that right now when I think he's still pretty far away. Plus, March/April basketball isn't real life in the NBA.
@@GameTheoryPodcastwSamVecenie I wouldnt be sold on jakob poeltl not being moved, he has said twice he doesnt want to be on a rebuilding team publicly after leaving the spurs. also what is interesting is if you look up bobby webster interview, he didnt include jakob poeltl as part of the core or veteran leadership moving forward. so i believe its possible jakob is moved in summer as he is likelyl asking for a trade quietly behind the scenes. his interview in the summer said he wants to compete for champiionships at this point in his career and the raptors are in a rebuild that doesnt include jakob by the time they are ready to compete.
based on what masai said at exit interview, he said the raptors are looking for big wings, so i do think they take ron holland at 6. i also believe at 19 its likely they take missi or even zach edey if jakob is going to be moved in the summer.
I just don't understand 'upside'. Are you saying the potential of height, youth, and/or athletic ability trumps height, and demonstrated skills (total minutes played competitively). Was Larry Bird too old?
It’s a combination of everything
Teams like OKC, facing real short term financial decisions, do need to draft with transition planning in mind
Yeah, OKC keeping all first rounders is going to get to expensive real quick - Need to start trading picks for vets and draft and stash second rounders
@@Kenny-bj2zqy’all need to stop overthinking this it not that complicated the purpose of picks is to have flexibility also no team that competitive was able to keep everyone that the point of picks to be able to replace guys plus already been traded picks around for future picks
Oh, and as a Blazermaniac it does chafe when fans are asked to spend years paying for player development--did the fans pay for Lillard's development or Brandon Roys?
I mean, the alternative is your team drafting old and continuing to never win anything.
Wooooaaah is that mighty mouse
Jared mccain for the blazers is terrible
It’s good for business if the Toronto pick conveys to San Antonio spurs
San Antonio will have 2 lottery picks
1.) Portland Trail Blazers
Alexander Sarr
2.) Detroit Pistons
Ron Holland
3.) Washington Wizards
Donovan Clingan
4.) San Antonio Spurs
Zaccharie Risacher
5.) Charlotte Hornets
Reed Sheppard
6.) Memphis Grizzlies
Stephon Castle
7.) San Antonio Spurs
Rob Dillingham
8.) Utah Jazz
Nikola Topic
9.) Houston Rockets
Matas Buzelis
10.) Atlanta Hawks
Isaiah Collier
11.) Chicago Bulls
Ja'Kobe Walter
12.) Portland Trail Blazers
Cody Williams
13.) Oklahoma City Thunder
Zach Edey
14.) Sacramento Kings
Dalton Knecht
This has to be a troll
@@Wrestle_Kingdom trolling trolling trolling
Raptors picking Shepard the year after drafting Gradey Dick would be weird
masai said they are looking for wings at his exit interview, i think its holland or buzelis if they are there, or cody williams.
He’s been kinda stuck on drafting Reed Sheppard despite team fits/log jams. Usually chooses him for the Hornets when they’ve stated that they are looking for wings, rebounding, and toughness.
Didn’t you actually bully him for drafting Dillingham with OKC pick to later draft Dillingham with… Sacramento?! 💀
botched the thunder pick imo lol, you had an easy choice with your first choice, don't overthink it.
Rob dillinghqm is not a okc player the guy would not work in okc we just traded a player similar to him due bad fit and not enough playing time
I also seriously doubt we are trading Giddey
Rockets do not need another wing player. We need a center. Adams is old and coming off surgery. Too many easy lobs against Rockets this season
My pelicans need a center why would we draft a guard just to keep them in the g league 😂😂😂
It depends what we the roster looks like after summer
@lavonbullock2880 ig but damn we need both positions
The Pistons don't HAVE a core beyond one (1) player.
Who has a better chance of being at least an average shooter between Castle and Topic?
Topic fs.
neither can shoot the 3 well currently. the issue with topic is his defence is bad, and he cant defend his own position currently even though he is a tall guard.
If you think Rob D is going to fall out of the top 12 that’s insanity.
alot is gonna be at combine, especially seeing how generous teams were with measurements. if dillingham is 6 ft rather than 6'2 then he will drop for sure.
@@giovanni-ed7zq As he should: he's really small and can't guard you.
Kings should replace Malik with Bones and draft a 3&D athletic wing imo. I do like Dillingham I doubt he falls to 13
Who’s that 3&D wing?
@@whoosh5469 bpa
@@whoosh5469best player available
@@whoosh5469 best wing kings can get is likely jakobe walter. buzelis, holland and cody williams will be gone before they pick.
@@giovanni-ed7zq JaKobe isn’t big enough to be a threat defensively and hasn’t shown much of anything outside of shooting off the move on offense this year. None of those others guys will fall that far so I’m wondering who you want outside of that.
This draft is eerily similar to the 2012 draft with Sarr having the potential to be this draft Anthony Davis, and a take who like draft.
The Topic pick to the Spurs is getting old as hell the more film I watch on him the more I’m hoping Spurs don’t draft him and saying Topic is the obvious choice is a reach
Is Dillingham really 159 pounds LMAO?
He sure looks as tiny as that would suggest on TV!
That's why I think of him as a no-defense bench player, and therefore don't care about him at all.
Id have drafted Risarcher, then traded Keldon and some future picks for Trae Young or Garland.
Nikola Topic future spurs
Doing BPA is not how Sam presti works. I get ppl don’t know okc that well, but going BPA is almost never the answer when doing mocks. There’s a reason why 95% of mock drafts have been wrong the last five years when it comes to OKC. Wallace wasn’t BPA, dieng, giddey, dub, all not BPA. Fit matters most with Sam.
BPA isn't even a strategy, it is merely a guess.
That said, I liked Cason Wallace a LOT more than any other options they had at that pick, so I quite literally think they did in fact pick the best guy.
They wont rig it this year for Spurs to win #1, theyll save that for next year so they get Cooper Flagg.
That tinfoil hat looks good on you!
The conspiracy theories are strong with this one
Hansen Yang is the best center eligible for this draft. Don't believe me just watch his scouting report. He was able to dominate Alex Sarr with ease
Hansen Yang is not eligible for this draft as he did not declare prior to the early entry deadline and is not on the NBA's list of early entrant candidates.
