Loren thank you so much. Finally someone who was willing to tell the truth about the food aboard carnival. Bottom line if you wanted to just eat in the main dining room and the Buffet carnival does not offer much. I think they intentionally make the food mediocre to push you into spending more aboard the cruise on specialty dining. People talk about how inexpensive carnival is. But what they don't tell you is if you want to enjoy the food you're going to have to spend more. That leaves the question, are you really saving money if you have to pay for specialty dining just to have a pleasant dining experience. In my estimation this is a bait and switch. At least with Royal you could go the entire cruise eating in the main dining room and the Buffet and have a pleasant dining experience. Now if we can get royal Caribbean to bring the party you got the perfect cruise line.
Exactly. They really only care about making money. The food used to be rather good. They didn't seam to have the specialty dining options a few years back. Now there are more of those and less quality included food. Eventually it will be all food for pay and not included food.
Royal's included food isn't good. They don't have anything that could compare to Guy's Burger, Shaq's Big Chicken or the Blue Iguana. Their Buffet and MDR isn't good you have to purchase their UDP as well.
@@ninad6787 This just shows the lack of sophistication of our culture. Hamburgers, hotdogs, chicken fingers and hot dogs are not real food. It really shows that your flavor palette has a limited dimension. Like I said before there are people who will only eat things like Cheerios and chicken fingers. For people with a limited pallet like that of course shacks burger is going to be amazing to them. But unfortunately they're missing out on food from other cultures that will expand their flavor palette. I love burgers but I also love, Sushi, a well prepared steak, French food Italian food, Mexican food, Greek food, food from the Middle East, Indian food. We as a people need to stop limiting ourselves and grow. Bottom line on a five day cruise I'm not going to just eat chicken fingers, hamburgers, and burritos. My flavor palette is a little more sophisticated than that. When you go into the Buffet on Royal Caribbean and see that it is literally eight times the size of the Buffy on Carnival how can you say that you can't find items that are better than the three previously mentioned. It's probably because you have yet to expand what types of foods you like.
@@kvocal RC is a mass Market cruise line just like Carnival , except Carnival has better free food. I cruise Celebrity and Virgin as well. They actually have amazing food that is far superior to anything RC offers. Unlike some people I don't need to stick my nose up in the air with a phony air of pretentiousness at Carnival Cruise Line which I also enjoy. You "Loyal to Royals" are so obnoxious and fake bougie it slays me. You really typed all of that and thought you were educating me. LOL! SMDH!
@@ninad6787 not quite sure what you mean by mass market. I would call Royal Caribbean in Carnaval the two budget friendly cruise lines along with MSC. In my opinion carnival would be the only mass market cruise line based on the definition of mass market. So let's go with budget friendly as mentioned previously. Not sure you are aware, but Celebrity is actually owned by Royal Caribbean. Last correction carnival does not have more free food options. The Buffet on royal Caribbean is many times larger than the Buffet, Shacks Chicken, Guys burger, and Guy's barbecue joint combined on Carnaval . If you actually look at the amount of variety inside royals Buffet you can argue Royal actually has more variety. What carnival has is more individual restaurants. And of them only two are actually good that's the burger and the burrito. What you did ma'am was fall for the oldest trick in the book. Let's do it by the numbers, Free restaurants guys burgers, you get burger and french fries. Shacks big chicken what do you get chicken strips served on a bun or by themselves and some really thin sliced obviously to save money French fries. Blue iguana burritos and tacos. On the CD guys barbecue joint dry barbecue chicken pork links ribs mac & cheese. Now take a look at the Buffet on Royal Caribbean and tell me if they don't have more options in the Buffet than all those places combined.

Thanks for the review from the actual cruisers. Great job. The only thing is I wish you had more younger people to review, but as Lauren stated that they were not a lot of younger people on this ship.
We just got off Royals Grandeur of seas. I believe all ships are having a hard time with help. Our waiters had to wait on 3 tables as big as ours which was 10 or more people at the table. I felt for them. They were awesome in our dining room, which is our favorite part of our cruise. Getting to know your waiters are so awesome. Love them!

Just got off the Celebration and understood the couple talking about the show and how the people who saw the show stayed for the next one so we couldn’t get a good seat! That pissed me off. They should vacate the area like they do the Punchliner during the comedy shows.
It sounds like overall everyone had a lovely time and they really like the ship. I’m sure all the negative issues will be addressed and in time all will be running smoothly. Thanks for the great report.

I have a Samsung phone and had no problem with the Hub app. I was on that same cruise with you. I would like the cabin bathroom to be bigger, the shower door is great but the standing area in front of the sink is entirely too small, I feel like I am in a camper bathroom, LOL!

It does look like a gorgeous ship. Issues with the elevators already? Oh that’s a good point Debbie made about the seating for the shows. Next couple people friendly. Easy to please. Got off the Mardi Gras 2 weeks ago and all the things mentioned are still an issue on her. It was near capacity and they didn’t have enough staffing, elevator issues, food service, waited 40 minutes for Cucina when app said 10 minutes, brunch backup, show seating, etc. Last year Nov ‘21 at a reduced capacity everything was perfect.

Thank you for doing these honest opinion interviews. We tried the Carnival Panorama last October (we are 9 cruises in with Princess) and I agree that their buffet was limited and lame. We felt it was very crowded however the entertainment staff did pretty good. We tried Carnival and our next one is on NCL in January on the Vloggers cruise which will also be our first time with NCL. I am looking forward to it. Thanks for sharing!!

Sounds more like Carnival is finally getting up to the standards other cruise ships have had for years.....if you are a Carnival regular this is an upgrade, if you frequent other cruise lines (as I do) this is standard procedure on those lines.

You talked about the part I dislike about cruising is how passengers treat crew members. I understand that they are on vacation. However, that doesn’t mean that anyone should treat another PERSON like they are beneath them. I don’t like when passengers are rude and disrespectful towards crew. The crew is working so hard and they are trying to make your stay as good as possible. Be kind…be kind….be kind.
I really appreciate getting these early over on Patreon. It's nice hearing from other passengers about their feelings, as we generally only hear from the 'pros'. No offense to JJ Cruises. :-)

Just got off the Carnival Mardi Gras 3 weeks ago. Love the ship but I was the only one of 3 seniors that did not get sick. Visits to the medical cost $500+, $600+, and$700+. We did back to back, my 78th and 79th cruises of which about 1/3rd on Carnival. Love cruising. Royal Caribbean's Oasis class are my and my honeys favorite.
Carnival really needs to address the hub app problems.
The buffet and main dining room food is consistently not appealing, For the price that does not sway me from cruising on carnival. What will keep me from cruising on carnival is the security not controlling the trouble makers/ harassing people and causing fights
I fully agree about hub problems fleetwide! Carnival needs to just cut the hub reservations system until they get it right.

I went on the celebration from April 16 until the 23rd. The cruise was absolutely wonderful however, I did not like a lot of the food on the ship. I got cold food a lot of the times and most of the restaurants the only two restaurants was very delicious. Is the steakhouse and the New Orleans restaurant.

The first ship I sailed on was the MS Celebration for Carnival back in the late 1980's. I am surprised no one has mentioned the name has been used by Carnival before.

This cruiseship is beautiful however, The ship is not design for someone in a wheelchair.
1- Beds are to high this make it difficult to transfer.
2- Elevator are too small. I had to wait a long time to get an elevator because if more than five people are in the elevator, a wheelchair won't fit.
3- Eating are poorly designed for a wheelchair (lido, street eats and blue iguana)
4- Hallways are narrow. If there is a cleaning car or luggage in the hall, you have to wait.
5-The theater have 2 spaces for a wheelchair. You are place in the very front or in the back.
Please don't get me wrong. The ship is beautiful but, I'm in a wheelchair and in my point of view carnival smaller ship are more accessible and I was disappointed in the lack of improvement for the disabled.

I just came off the Celebration and we're going with another line for our next vacation. The hub app chat was useless. The dining room crew was disappointing and it did took forever with food. We just didn't go back. Food was always cold the only hot good food was Emerils. The drinks were too sweet and Alchemy was not as good as I'm used to. The rooms kept creaking like it was falling apart. To us it wasn't a fun party vibe. Other than that the ship is gorgeous and despite the disappointments, we had a good time.

Great ideal for a video to get a wide range of opinions. Mardi Gras is my all time favorite ship and I’ll have the same great CD and solo Musician (regie) so I know I’ll have a good time. It will be my first solo cruise so I’m nervous about that part.
