    The last line “so that’s why, she did it.”
    He’s saying that’s why the chicken crossed the road. To get to the other side. Something all of us have known forever. Something we have always thought was pointless and lame. But now when you think about it, it gives it perspective. Because Bo is too smart for us and we don’t deserve him.

      the song is very similar to a bit by dave chappelle called "the impossible punchline" you'd prolly enjoy as well.

    “We ought to believe that she got to the other side.”
    adds so much to “so long, goodbye. I’ll see you when I see you. You can pick the street. I’ll meet you on the other side.”

    Internet: “What are you gonna do next Bo?”
    Bo: “I’m gonna release a special of only outtakes that’ll still be better than most comedy sets. At the end I’ll make everyone cry about why the chicken crossed the road.”
    The Internet: “Great, now kfc makes me depressed.”
    Bo: “It should have already done that.”
    Internet: “That’s fair. Whelp, time to go back to thinking about how many cities we would burn to the ground if anything happened to you.”
    The whole Outtakes special is on his RUclips page!! The Inside deluxe album should be on all streaming platforms!
    Love your channel man, keep up the great work

    It's my second time seeing this song now and the bar she checks left right left right left right hit me even harder. I don't know why this chicken song is hitting me so hard right in the feelings. His storytelling is just so amazing, showing that she really did everything to make sure she was safe. How can a song about the oldest joke in the world just hit me like this, is it only me?! Bo is just a legend. I am so late on a lot of his stuff.

    Honestly, the first time heard this song I teared up. It is beautiful and takes the most basic joke and turns it into a serious look at how some people live. So afraid of getting away from the things they hate that they never try to cross that road.

    Not sure if it's been mentioned, but this was originally going to be the last song on the album/special instead of goodbye. Bo ties in the lyrics the chicken getting to the other side with the opening of goodbye: "You can pick the street I will meet you on the other side." Thanks as always Cliff.

    I felt like I got Rickrolled when he first mentioned crossing the road. I might have screamed at the tv and laughed hysterically when I realized this was “Why did the chicken cross the road?” as an insanely serious, dramatic song.

  • @GBNationalist
    @GBNationalist Год назад +5

    I love how he took something as simple as a ‘why did the chicken cross the road?’ joke and extrapolates it into a deep philosophical lesson. Don’t be happy with mediocrity, don’t stand idly by while life passes you by. Don’t sit in comfort and routine because you are content, the unknown is where we find who we are and become the captains of our own ships rather than allowing the ocean of life to drag us around.
    We are all going to die, don’t let the fear of failure or mortality rule your existence and stunt your potential.
    You can be great, more than you know, trust me friends.

  • @theConquerersMama
    @theConquerersMama 2 года назад +7

    I think of how my first hubby passed.
    He lost the battle with depression and was found in his car after going missing.
    He was a medium (able to pay the bills with it) successful comedian. His last words to me were "see you on the other side".
    💙
    (If you struggle with depression, please, reach out. You may feel like you don't want to live. But maybe you just really don't want to live like this?
    Maybe others can help you find another way to change the story you are in. Sending some hope & strength your way)

    This is such a beautiful song, even without the lyrics. Add in the lyrics and it is just spectacular. I would like to look at the hopeful ending as what happened rather than the chicken getting squashed along with her dreams. 3:38 makes me get really emotional with what he does with the melody. Thank you for your reaction to this one!

    I always thought this was a song about a woman in a toxic relationship and escapes and then is hit by life which is the road where she can see the wealth “across the road” but she has to take the risk of life by crossing that path and taking the risk to become who she wants to be

    Tou could write a thesis on this song. How it ties into identity, greener grasses, and most importantly how everything you dreamed of can bring you the most pain. Wild for essentially a super long chicken crossed the road joke.

    Great, now I'm having an existential crisis from a song about a chicken. How does he do this to us?! Awesome reaction as always.
    If you need a chicken song to make you laugh, check out Voiceplay's "The Chicken Song'
    And just an FYI to anyone reading this, he really will respond if you message him; and it won't be a copy and paste response. He's one of the rare ones who, when he says he loves his community, actually means it. So if you need someone to talk to, he really will respond. ::steps down off soap box::
    Seriously though, thank you for all you do!

    I always have a hard time watching reaction videos that add almost nothing to any conversation about the art they are presenting. Not a tuber myself so I'm not familiar with community guidelines on fair use, but imo you should add more depth to your opinion or reaction other than saying "wow, Bo that was amazing." Just some feedback

      This must be the only video you have watched of mine. I actually get yelled at for pausing too much. I mean literal death threats because I’m breaking down each line. If a song has completely taken me over and I want to hear it all together (like this), I refrain from pausing. It was beautifully done.
