What is certain in Genshin is that when you get an Artifact with a double crit stat and a deff stat, you have to prepare mentally to increase it.....
I gotten double attack and defense and I never get crit rate with crit dmg as a 4 main stat
I just don't lvl them at all

After about 2 years of artefact farming at this point and strongboxing blizzard since it's available. My best onset Blizzard cdmg circlet has 7.0CR and 27.2%def..

The 9 layers of rng when farming artifacts is ridiculous. A revamp is needed, because it's horrible that we have 0 choice to anything we get.

Exactly. I wish that at the very least the artifact crafting worked more like in HSR where you can choose the piece that gets made & there's a rare item that lets you also choose the mainstat. Its a lot more expensive in HSR (equivalent to 10 artifacts iirc, as opposed to 3) and you can still end up with ass stats but at least there's more control, as opposed to genshin where the only control you have is over the set.
Edit to add some other thoughts i had:
If they made it so that you can lock a substat from upgrading, they could make it so there's a rare item you have to use for it, and you can only do it maybe once or twice per artifact. I feel like that'd be a good way to implement it without being too op or something. And they can either make it so you jave to sacrifice a few 5 star artifacts, put it in Paimon's bargains, and they could even add a few to the BP Gnostic Hymn rewards to encourage people to buy that if they wanna make money off it 💀

You can't convince me Hoyo didn't intentionally code for dual crit pieces to ALWAYS roll into defense
I managed to get one were it rolled 4 times into crit rate.
It was not enough to replace the piece that rolled 3 times into crit rate.
Fortunately, we can prove that all substats have even 25% chance to be upgraded thanks to the huge number of data samples but we know for certain that crit substats have lower chances to appear as a substat.

@@uvu1282 Yes. For example, Flat hp, atk and def are 2 times more likely to appaer as a substat compared to crit stats. Genshin Impact wiki has a great info about it but I cannot post links because RUclips doesn't like it for some reason.
i wish they would get rid of flat stats. They have so many options now, that flat stats are unnecessary

@@ChainsSSB Also Nilou and other hp scales like flat hp since you can't get hp% on main stat HP% and Circlets with flat as 4th sub instead of other stat like Def or Atk after Crit, Hp and Er. Split scales too.

would be a small change that players would appreciate and the only way it could affect genshin financially is from p2w players who spend money buying primos to use for farming and even then not by a lot.

My least favorite part of building a new character in Genshin and Star rail is farming artifacts it's never ending frustration.

not even kidding when i say every piece i've gotten out of this domain had both crits, and rolled all defense **cries in 23.4 DEF**

I have not even gotten any main stat on relevant goblet, timepiece and sands for arlecchino. All of mine have been HP, ER, DEF and non pyro dmg bonus, and no crit substats for flower and feather. I'm about to give up.

Just remember if you see a flat def or flat hp substat, chuck it in the bin.
Its not RNG how the stats roll, these two specifically have a higher statistic of rolling up. It has a 56% chance for rolling to the flats. So if you have crit rate, crit dmg, and em, that only have like 32% chance of getting the roll.
Id include the link, but youtube wont allow it. So go to the genshin wiki and looks up artifact occurance for the entire spreadsheet. Itll tell you what the statistic is for each piece. Having a goblet vs feather does change the %. So make sure you are looking in the right row.

Do you not know it’s literally rigged? Like getting EM on VV is the rarest thing in the game when it drops consistently on any other domain?

I'm not 100% I'd wanna know how bad it actually is, just to avoid the added frustration alone.
Rigged or not, it's still pretty ridiculous at this point.
@@Fragile_Memories its as bad as you think it is, maybe worse. Defense in husk becomes as rare as EM in VV. Its all domain and artifact based.

@@Fragile_Memories its designed to get people to spend primogems on resin refills. And a good amount of people do it to the point that we have had 3 entire regions plus 4 sub areas added and no resin cap increase.

I’m a new player (like 2 months in) AR 45 and grinded Arlecchino and Kazuha, I just wanted to get Kazuha in a VV 4pc set as I’m already doing good damage with Arlecchino, and then continue the ascension and talent grind. Spent 50 fragile resin and somehow didn’t get a 2nd VV EM Artifact. And I used strongboxes too so even more rolls. NOTE EVEN A PURPLE ARTIFACT rolled EM. So now he has a VV Crit Rate Circlet with EM ER substats as his 4th piece. I just wanted a okay 4pc set for the res shred man :c
Btw, before I get comments about ascension and talents first, all weapons are LvL 80 and all talents are lvl 6 and I’m waiting on weekly boss reset. I wagered getting ONLY Kazuha properly geared was worth more than ascensions right now. And I’m holding off spending the things to change the material I get until I have a decent supply (like 4-6 at all time) so ascension didn’t seem and immediately now thing.
It's okay, as long as you're on AR 45 and using the last level of domains as intended we won't complain.
That's one of the reasons I don't like gacha games like genshin, because the gacha feature exists everywhere :)
I got a double crit with atk% pyro goblet on Arle's set on the first day of farming and my happiness lasted until it all rolled into flat HP (over 1k HP on it after that)
At any survey hoyo makes in last suggestion page i always write something about flat stats and delete them pls
If they do it would ruin the game as some such as me need to build as a tank
Some characters still want flat stats (flat HP for Kokomi and Nilou or flat Atk for Shenhe.. some characters also wants mainly EM substats)
I prefer it to have some kind of item that lets us choose a specific substat to roll for or lock a substat to not get upgraded

They definitely need to revamp the whole artifact system. Grinding for an elemental goblet took me around whole three years which wasn't even perfect that is how terrible RNG is.
Genuinely. It took so long for me to get an elemental mastery circlet or sands on Flower of Paradise Lost for Shinobu that I just settled for a circlet without any crit (ik she probably doesn't rlly need crit stats that much esp for hyperbloom but i like having them anyways) and an off set sands (which funnily enough ended up being a double crit Desert Pavilion Chronical)
When you get the crit rate it's just a trick from Mihoyo
According to Genshin Wiki, each substat has an *equal* 25% chance to be upgraded at lv 4/8/12/16/20.
I never believe that shit.
This is why those double crit 4 line starts aren't always all that and why the "now +15/+20 it" meme exists

has anyone ever collected data? I am convinced you are right. I don't use any Def scaling characters but I bet the defence boosting artifact sets are the ones least likely to roll on def & would give us the best off-pieces

Then there was me who also got a double crit and atk% goblet. It rolled 19% Atk and like... Once into cr. Actual pain
It's all great when you get a piece with sub stats you like, upgrade it, AND THE REALIZE THAT THE MAIN STAT IS DEFENCE
That piece was actually good but in the end of rolls, it's DISTURBING...
Lesson learned: if you see an artifact with 7.8% Crit DMG substat, better ignore it and throw away haha.
This is why i started throwing away any pieces that have flat def or def percentages already on them or as soon as they show def if its not for a def character. I dont want to take the chance and be majorly dissappinted. And i know that lowers my good pieces by a huge percentage but its been working for me. I had to stop this madness when my Xiao had almost the same amount of def as atk 😭

I was fortunate enough to get a crit rate and crit dmg plume for my Arlecchino. Fully leveled it up I end up with 9.7% crit rate and 11.3% crit DMG.
Which brings my Arlecchino to 66% crit rate and 180% crit dmg which I am happy with. (I don't even have her signature weapon)

You know, it's even worse if you NEED defense for a Def scaling character (like Albedo) and you don't get any all of a sudden.
Now that is The DEFENCE piece
The best way to roll double crit piece is just 20+ unless you got gambling addiction
Aaaaand this is why you never improve artifacts with defense, even if all other stats are great.
It's never worth the risk.

If i got CRIT rate/DMG instead of DEF on my artifacts, i would be one of the best dps players in the world, because my artifacts are never ruined by ANYTHING ELSE EVER😭
I do think that genshin's RNG increase the chance of DEF, HP and healing being increased in certain artifacts because there is no way that the game can roll these stats in a row

the other day in star rail i got a really good planar ornament for welt, with one (1) defense substat. all of the other stats were good. i just loaded up on level mats and leveled the whole piece all at once, and guess what? four straight defense rolls. i nearly cried
This is why they need to do a reroll system on artifacts. The amount of time and resources I wasted to get shit artifacts and good artifacts but shit rolls on it is ridiculous. For example, 1 whole year for an OK eula with 2k atk, 40-50 crit rate, and 200 crit damage. What about Xiao? 2 years to actually get passed 1.7k atk, 30 crit rate, and 150 crit damage. He NOW sits at 2k atk, 70 crit rate and 210 crit damage after 2 YEARS.

I live by the philosophy that if an otherwise good artifact has DEF and rolls into it at least once, it's dead.
I always avoid any artifact that has DEF on it, unless i just don't have a better alternative.
The only time i got really lucky on crit stats is when building Navia and Neuvilette, other than that is just pain.
Meanwhile, i wanted a defence peice for noelle and it went all into crit rate. Neuvillette loved that flower
as a genshin player...I honestly don't understand why genshin pro's don't want def(like do you want your team to die fast?)
I had mine recently go into Def and flat hp too on few different pieces and I’m like “3/5 set done my azz”!
If only. We could choose which path the upgrade stats are going even if it's 70/70 is good for me. But man they had to mixed two different artifacts in one domain while having 0.06% chance of getting good stats but not perfect.

equip any instrument then exit then do any normal/charged attack or skill
the thing to do when you see this kind of artifact is, just make it 20 from all the way since start, otherwise you have to see it going all into def on each upgrade
EVERY piece I’ve gotten from this domain has ended up just like that. I’ll get both crit sub stats, EM and ER. Great stats. And it’ll ALL go into DEF or HP 😢 now I don’t even lvl them im traumatized 😅
At this point if there's any perfect artifact with base def and someone level it up expecting not to get at least 2 base def then their delusional and have been in need to help for a very long amount of time
Raiden was my first major investment in a character. She has 300+ ER and 70/145 CR/CD and after the pain of farming them I don't think I can do it again.

Thats exactly what happen to me today...got a good Feather with Crit Rate, Crit DMG and Attack% and all it went in was 1 Crit Rate and the Rest in flat DEF...farming Artifacts is so much fun :) :) :) :) :)
