I haven't commented on a RUclips video in years, but this overview and workshop around this product has been fantastic. I thought about getting one for day to night milky way shots that I can set up and leave unattended to go shoot stills but there aren't any comprehensive reviews for that. You have definitely earned a subscriber. Thank you for all of your hard work.

I think when I'm onsite covering events/jobs and have other things to do it's probably the perfect option.

Good review. "It all depends." I have been using qDSLR with sketchy results because I am still using a D800 and not d850.

Thanks a lot for this in-depth set of review vids, much appreciated! I'll just add that there's one really good reason why someone might want this device, and it's a reason that might also prompt someone to get an automatic car: AGE. I've shot time lapse sometimes on a slider rig, in which I had to actually lie down on the ground every time I made a camera adjustment. I'm now 54, and the idea of doing that is a bit daunting! This device would mostly remove the risk to my back :)

doing bulb ramping manually is more crafty. True. Also painting a scene is more crafty, than taking photos ;)

Hey, great series and a busy production week for you. You’ve gained another subscriber. I’ve been teaching myself various time laps techniques over the last two months and I’m glad to have found you. Keep posting and teaching and maybe I’ll bump into you sometime as we’re local to each other.

My biggest issue with Manuel bulb ramping is the small bumps to the camera while doing it

I've had one for about 5-6 years now and still love it. They constantly produce new firmware, but I've heard the product is no longer being manufactured by the original inventors and the rights sold to another company who appear to be offering software (and firmware?) support only via Adobe Lightroom plug-in. I have yet to try that out. I assume the physical devices may be getting hard to obtain now.
As a side note... if the Benro Polaris and/or Foolography Unleshed (2018 or 2022 models) holy grail mode pans out and works well enough, it may signal the end of my need for the Timelapse+ VIEW, as much as I liked it. Less devices to haul.

Thanks for sharing! On paper it was a great product, but I couldn't really trust it on the long term. I don't need a tool for something I can do myself, and enjoy doing haha

if you have a Fujifilm XT3 where you dont have the manual ramping available, then this tool seems like the only way for a night to day and vice versa timelapse. I have tried by stopping intervalometer, updating exposure and starting it again every 4-5 minutes but its too exhausting. With the Canon 5D mk II, manual exposure updates were piece of cake during timelapse shots.

I just started mine up for the first time, keen to give it a spin. The user interface on the app is pretty bad was my only impression so far.

Thanks for putting this together! I purchased one of these last year but had trouble getting it to work with my Sony 6500. I recently upgraded to the a7Riii and after seeing this am going to give it another try. I thought you mentioned you were going to put together a tutorial? I’d love to see that. (I’m also super excited about Sony’s announcement of a firmware upgrade that will include a built in introvelometer... About time!)

    • @EmericTimelapse
      @EmericTimelapse  5 лет назад

Would this be good for motion control timelapses like on the Kessler second shooter for day to night timelapses?

Yes you can mix it with motion controlled system. I think you can plugin Dynamic Perception to it.
