The D&D part, I can't-
A man enters a crowded tavern. The tavern goers are all happy at their tables eating, chatting and drinking. The man suddenly goes to one of the tables. Before the people sitting at the table say anything to the man, he bites it, tearing off a piece of the fine carpentry work. Oddly enough, the pure oak wood seem to do nothing to the man's jaw, who stands there like nothing happened.
Suddenly the bartenders, a pair of Tabaxi twins, Adiel and Leida, go up to the table and tell the man to stop eating it. The man looks confused at them, like he doesn't understand why they are so upset. Suddenly looking at Adiel with lustful eyes, the man tries to bite a piece of his cheek off, which is followed by Leida, who grabs a crossbow from under the counter and tries to shoot the man.
The dart misses, but noticing his sister's intentions, the other twin rapidly follows her lead, grabbing a dagger from under the counter and making a cut on the man's face to try and stop him. Hurt and even more confused than before, the man decides that the best way of surviving now is through the art of flirting, telling both twins that their cocks are nice and that he was just trying to bite them because he thought they would be into it.
The twins (even Leida, who doesn't have a cock) suddenly feel very attracted to the man...
What happens next? You decide.
We never rolled to see if they were into biting lmao
It was sl random and funny. I havent played D&D and now i want to play it even more

I hope this kind of npc invader/summons come back in Elden Ring.
A gesture, a strange loadout, an interesting name, some unique AI quirk, all can shape even some otherwise generic npc ally into a character. I love it.

as someone who helps around the DS2 community a fair bit, it brings me joy to see you playing it.
This game is like a cute leech... at first you think it's a little much, then it starts to grow on you, and you hate yourself for liking it but as time goes on you start to learn to love it

It's still a solid game even though there are some faults.
My only gripes that come to mind would be that they didn't make the Amana Priestess Robes for the player and also the Frigid Outskirts is so damn annoying.

There are a buncha cool ideas and mechanics in the game but the way they're all poorly executed makes playing the game a pain in the ass

If you follow every single Shenpai souls video by the order they've been uploaded, you can actually pinpoint the exact moment where she loses all sense of sanity

It was so much harder to know if npc's were players or not in this game, they just have such weird names that it might as well have been irl players. Like that one guy who invades you, "Simon the smith" or something similar, he doesn't carry any kind of weapons, armor or equipment that would make you think he's a smith.
I love the personalities some of these npcs have, my favourite being Maldron.

Maldron pretends to be a white phantom just to backstab you. Genius play

Npcs are easy to identify as the white phantoms always lock onto you and that changes their posture. Player summons can’t do that.
DS1: The Milky Speech.
DS2: The Improv DnD.
Bloodborne: the bread absorbs the memories of the soup.

Story time: Dark Souls 2 was the first Souls game I ever played and I knew nothing about the series. I stumbled my way through the tutorial, died to the ogres a few dozen times and managed to use the coffin just to be confused why nothing seemed to happen. Killed the "Last" Giant and cleared that area before getting to the giant knights area. After a few dozen tries I rage quit and never came back. The part that made me rage quit wasn't dying over and over again, it was the five minute travel time walking from the bonfire in Majula to the knight area. It wasn't until a few years later that I was watching a RUclips video and found out there was a bonfire right at the entrance of the knight area. I wanted to scream.

TBH, Dark Souls 2 is probably the most beginner friendly of all the Souls games, imo.
@@DoomPlague I feel like DS3 is more friendly just because the game play is more polished, the healing is immediate instead of over time, and you don’t have your max HP reduced when you die.

I like that chat deciding to eat the table became an instant power move, and then right after biting the bartender, trying to eat the dagger and then arousing both of them at once RIGHT AFTER DOING ALL THAT. Chat is truly a chaotic force of nature.
See the thing about a twitch chat is it has every kind of personality at once, there are flirters, idiots, geniuses, and people (They're just people) and all of them work in one single body so to speak. All of them have different ideas, but can work towards one goal if given the task to

That was a great intermission! I love how chat is drawn appearing on the scene, fully ready and confident to eat the table to then bite the bartenders, their dagger and then woo them, confident the entire time. If only it could have gone on longer...

As someone from Brazil, I can confirm that Pursuer would fit right in. He chases the player character as hard as we chase a way out of unemployment, and gets shut down just as easily

Playing DS or any similar game in co-op with my friend is a lesson in patience, because he'll go through the area normally exactly once if possible, then once he knows where the boss is will try and run past EVERYTHING to beeline his way there, leaving me to try and make my way through the sea of aggro-d enemies. Then he'll realise I'm not there are have the nerve to say "where are you?" when I'm fighting the entire planet alone, lmao

I sympathize. In my six or seven playthroughs of Dark Souls 2, I think something like 90% of my deaths were from death pits, 9% were dying to bosses, and 1% was dying to regular enemies.
Love Shens vids in general, love the work the editor puts into the Vids.
Also, cats sometimes have a tendency to lay down/sit on what they perceive to be vantage points or places high up.

The entirety of 36:00 and onward has been the greatest bruh moment of this channel's history.
This has finally given me the motivation to actually finish the game; got past Jabba the Hutts cousin and then got killed by a group of enemies past some stairs then I proceeded to nope out.
It's a good game.
Shen, if you love the Souls-Borne series, I recommend Nioh. It's Dark Souls in Japan's Warring State period and you kick off as a beautiful and pissed off Irish man

Dark souls 2 was my first and even after trying out all the souls-likes I could get my hands on, it is still my favorite.
Dark souls 2 is a guilty pleasure to me now. I legit enjoy the game found the areas and different weapons pretty cool and despite some flaws to it did enjoy the combat. My biggest problem to it is that scholar of the first sin edition made it a pain by shoving a ridiculous amount of enemies at you making it incredibly unfair.

Dark Souls 2 is a criminally underrated game that I love so much. Everything is just so much fun. Though there are some aspects I do hate, they balance each other out.

Ds2 had the most realistic npc summons and invaders. One of the dlc has an invader that uses the camo spell and turns into a barrel and only attacks you when your camera is turned away from it
The amount of freedom for weapon and armor in every Soulsborne is amazing and stupidly hilarious at the same time.
And Shen (usually) does perhaps the rarest armor and weapon combo of all: Default both from start to finish

Sir Alonne actually hit you fairly with the grab attack, so it wasn't a hitbox issue.
DS2 however does have a wonky transition from being hit and then getting pulled into the grab animation. The other games transition directly into the grab on hit, while DS2 will let an animation play completely before pulling you into the grab.
As someone who plays dnd : this is accurate.

Perfect timing I just got back into ds2 sotfs again recently. I’m surprised though about all the summon signs idk why I never really see other players anymore. (unless they’re invading I guess) So glad you went back to the game anyways, I still enjoy it and this video had my sides hurting the whole time

I was dying to the tutorial mobs and then a friend of mine came in to show me how to play the game.
I made a new Character and we went straight to the Fume Knight.
Edit: forgot to mention that was the most fun I've had in a while.
