Thanks a lot! This came just on time! I have been falling in love with Kavu Switch Slinger these days and here you go and show much more with your - as always - great review! Thank you so much!
I love the Aer Travel Sling 2. I use this whenever I go to work and want to carry light payload or whenever I have a side trip after work. It fits my 13" Macbook Pro plus most of my daily essentials.
Blackhole Atom sling, every day. Interestingly, Hydroflask makes a pretty legit sling that has a mesh compartment that holds their water bottles separately, and even has a stabilizer strap. I still really love these 3D printed props.
I've had the pacsafe vibe 325 for years and love it. Took it to Spain for 7 days where it was loaded down and I had a 1 liter water bottle hanging off of it and it was quite comfortable.
The one thing that worries me about using a sling pack is the pressure the strap puts on your neck/shoulder when you load it up. I suspect that these things can only be carried for a whole day if very lightly loaded. Otherwise, find a good massage therapist.
i've never used a sling, but i have a bumbag (fanny pack) and a cross-body bag from Baggu and having weight on one side gives me back ache and makes me feel like im walking unevenly
My edc for sling would be wallet, small GAN charger n cable, metal card holder, earplug earbud, thin pen and some medication for my rhinitis. For me sling bag under 3 liter is ideal
I have been eying that NF Borealis sling for a while. For starters, the colour palette is fun. And the bungee cords I've read are handy for stashing a fishing rod. Not that I fish, but do carry a collapsing white mobility cane everywhere I go, and it's nice to have a stash spot for it sometimes. The tip is near to three inches around
I always wonder why the Chrome Kadet Sling never gets any love - then I watched this vid and saw what it was up against ahaha That Alpaka holding a laptop is amazing!
Recently I had a bag broke down on me, and I began researching for a replacement. I find it odd that bags like Aer Travel Sling 2, with it's waterproof material, and only having 1/2 YKK aqua guard zipper for it. I understand it will survive light rain showers, but I ride a motorcycle and being in Asia, the rain can be quite heavy. So it seems that having a bag made with waterproof materials but having 1 zipper that's not water sealed seems kinda odd. I've seen people say that it's better to use a cover, but my Timbuk2 Especial doesn't come with a rain cover but it has survived the rains with me multiple times, do you feel the same about bags with 1 zipper that's not YKK aqua guard compared to the rest? Like the Aer Travel Sing 2 vs say... A Nomatic travel pack?
Right now, my favorite sling is the Compagnon Element 11. 6L main compartment for the camera/gear and a 5L roll top that is great for those impulse buys while traveling and snacks. Otherwise, just roll it away.
If I fly a budget airline (e.g. Spirit in US) and I only carry a backpack as personal item , can I still carry a sling pack together with the backpack?
KAVU is great…..really I do love it, it’s comfortable, well made, durable, but some of the colors are hideous. The small pockets on front are NOT for a phone. One holds mini tissues…the other maybe keys and a lip balm….have to dig my phone out of main compartment. I do love it….it’s the best I’ve found so far….also best selection of colors is REI….AMAZON and KAVUS own website….seem to get the overruns….not the best choices…..KAVU told me that.
what are the better swappable L/R shoulder sling packs? I see this come up often, but they only make up 10% of a comparison (i.e. 1 out of 8, 1 out of 10, etc.) Can you gather as many L/R sling packs and put them in a single review/video? That would be epic and extremely helpful.
This a much needed review, a long overlooked genre of carryology. I appreciate you inclueded the Aer Travel Sling 2, Cotopaxi and Alpaka, but why not the Boundary Supply Errant Sling?
hi there, im looking for a sling bag that is able to carry one folder, a t-shirt, a fleecevest, a charging cable, a bottle of parfume, a powerbank and still has a bit of space left for some snacks etc, i know it is very specific😅 but please if somone has any reccomandations please let me know 😁
Yes, please! I typically use either a tote or a nicer backpack. I’d love an overview of options that are good for travel, work well as a manager in a corporate setting, and meet everyday carry needs, especially if commuting by public transport. And if they supported moving between meetings when working from the office, that would be amazing!
Water bottle. Pack Hackers most important item it seems. C'mon you're not out in the jungle or anything. You can get water anywhere, or just have a couple of glasses home before you go. What is this water bottle thingy u guys have going?😅
bigger slings is a joke - it's extremely bad for your health and posture to normally carry your things on one strap/one shoulder, so it's only justifiable for the absolute necessity and the minimum weight possible, like documents, earbuds, keys and coins, this type of stuff. for anything substantial and in your regular city environment a proper smallish backpack has no downsides.
Some people need to move bulky items in a sling like an 11-12.9” iPad and mirrorless camera w/ a lens or two. Smaller shaped slings limit e of item you can pack but not necessarily the amount of weight you can load.
If you adjust it well is not that bad, I have traveled with a sling with my laptop+table+switch to other countries. Why I take a sling instead of backpack? Because I also go with my dog and the accessibility of slings using only one hand is far better than backpacks.

I wish they made more of the smaller crossbody bags with external water bottle pouch
I have the Aer travel sling 2. perfect for an overnight trip and easy to run through the airport and subway station. It’s a great travel companion.
Thanks for sharing your insights! 🤙

Look for a review on the Hydro Flask sling coming soon 😉

Some are surprisingly comfortable, and having one that can switch shoulders is helpful, too!
-Eric
I agree with you. The bigger sling bags are, the harder they are to your back. I personally won't go with a bag larger than 5L capacity.
My edc for sling would be wallet, small GAN charger n cable, metal card holder, earplug earbud, thin pen and some medication for my rhinitis.

Pack Hacker already said in the vid " don't overload your slingbag" . The lighter the sling bag, the better.
Great lineup diversity!

That Alpaka holding a laptop is amazing!
What are the bags on the wall behind him? The purple and orange ones look about the right size to me. Or are those backpacks?

Pacsafe Venturesafe 150 GII Anti-theft Cross Body Pack
Been running this bag for several years now. Still my daily. Ol Reliable
Thanks for sharing, Randy!

Fabulous! Thank you!

You gotta ask the airlines about that
Defenetly look at fly fishing sling bags. Some real gems out there, like the simms freestone tactical slingbag. The perfect (for me) edc bag
Thanks for the suggestion! I’ll pass it along 😃
-Eric
Anything more than 5L is tough to carry for a long time. Small slings are better or just backpacks
So can the north face bag be worn frontwards ?
Great video as usual!
I know it has nothing to do with slings, but what is the fleece he's wearing? I can't stop looking at it!
great video great info and I love the links you guys rock!
Thanks for the support 😃

Anyone know the name of the purple bag in the right corner?

Can you make a video about using jackets with lots of pockets to carry extra clothes, or is that impractical/flawed?
Thanks for the suggestion-I’ll pass it along.

Patagonia Stealth Sling 10L has some of the features listed here and more, too bad its kinda pricey.
Very nice >>>>> Thank you
Thanks for watching! 😃

Oh dang! I saw this just now. I have just commented on your other video of Mystery Ranch Robo Flip. Hope you make one for Mystery Ranch Go Bag! :)

Aer Travel Sling 2 +1
This a much needed review, a long overlooked genre of carryology. I appreciate you inclueded the Aer Travel Sling 2, Cotopaxi and Alpaka, but why not the Boundary Supply Errant Sling?
i liked the Kavu best! the rope straps are a nice touch then the Patagonia and North face, just not in those colours
Thanks for sharing 😃 Which color would you go with?

@@PackHacker I'd have to go black, i hate when my bag clashes with my outfit lol

Borealis Sling for my money.
Please review women work bags too. Thanks.

I am Confused why The Code Of Bell X-Pak is not here? Thats the Sling Of the Slings.
The price on some of these is crazy, over $200 for a small sling?

These videos are hard to watch as I end up wanting to travel just so I can use a bag after lol
😂😂😂
To me CHROME KADET IS BEST
Why do you think so? 🧐
-Eric
Never understood the sling bag hype. Just carry a messenger bag like a Billingham Hadley Pro or NutSac. They look better and hold more if needed.
No
Hipsters gotta be hipsters.
the north face and patagonia are nowhere near the level of an aer or alpaka sling
Thanks for sharing your insights with us! 😃

They all look pants, be better off with a small backpack

Nobody is carrying Thor’s hammer in a sling. Chill out on the keyboard warrior medical advice.
