Fozzy, you're being modest. The Notts penalty save alone made sure you'd be in Wrexham's history forever. The fact that you helped the club get back to the Football League is just icing on the cake.
He was already Wrexham history. He was goalkeeper the last time they won a cup (not sure which one exactly) 18 years prior to him coming back. Rob and Ryan used that link to bring him on board.
Can I just say he was off his line for the pen he cheated notts county should of been promoted
@@theHerefordboys That's making the huge assumption that he wouldn't have saved it regardless of being off his line, (which no-one could argue he wasn't). If it had been ordered to be retaken, there's the chance the striker would have hit it wide. Even if they'd scored, they would only have drawn the game. There's no certainty that Notts County would have then gone on to be promoted whilst Wrexham had to go into the playoffs, grow up, that's football !
@@theHerefordboys nice one Karl
@@theHerefordboys "notts county should of been promoted"
If it were re-taken, and if it were scored, that match would have ended 3-3. Take 2 points off Wrexham and add 1 to Notts Country and they're still second, you salty melon
The gift from Ryan is genuinely thoughtful! Not just something that costs a lot of money! That'd be easy for him to do, but to actually give him one of his deadpool gloves is very thoughtful!
The thought that went behind it, noticing he always gives his gloves away, makes it special.
yup
that gonna be the only glove fozzy will never throw into the crowd lmao
bro you have any idea how much that glove would go for on an auction? ever heard about comic con nerds and geeks? that glove would sell for a lot! and we are talking a legit Original DP 1 glove!!
Ryan is actually a really good person. Lots of people just think he's a big movie star jerk but he's anything but.
Literally the reason Rob is friends with him
Feeding Ben Foster after the promotion was honestly an honor for those lads 😂 I would absolutely give him my food without hesitation. They probably got a good laugh from it
A good laugh and a good story
And good times , they also walked the streets with the players having a drink and enjoying life
They’ll be telling their mates next week how Ben Foster shared their chips.
Legend.
@@poolhall9632 Shared? Doesn't sound like Ben shared much. 😂
@@daviddavies3637 stories always get better in the retelling….
Imagine being able to tell the story about how you fed Ben Foster after he helped promote your team...madness 😂
Ryan and Rob have taken Wrexham back to where they belong. So heartwarming seeing them both becoming fans with the club in their hearts
On track to where they belong, because yes they belong in the EFL but they deserve to be higher up the pyramid
@@jongabriel913 they probably will 😉
The gloves themselves would have been a great present but to add the meaning of a goalkeeper being given gloves is a great move
Ben collecting all the proper night out food like thanos
Kebab, chips, pizza..is he missing anything else?
@@jaimel88 £2 chicken from that one place that's always the last one open. Every town has got one
Foster is a legend who earned his wings in Wrexham, but lets not forget Lainton and Howard. Those two guys stood between the posts from the takeover and performed above and beyond.
Dont forget Dibble
Ryan Reynolds is such a vibe 😭😂 And you eating peoples food is hilarious 😆
My favourite thing about Ben is that he always says "sweet as a nut" even when it doesn't make contextual sense 😂
I know what you sweet as a nut mean
The party must have been epic. I love how Ben has been at the highest level of the sport yet still is so excited after promotion from the 5th league to party the night away, literally, with teammates and fans.
A winner always loves to win, but this story he's a part of is the stuff that will be talked about for years. It would make a great movie 😉
I love how Ben is so successful but still loves second hand kebab meat. You bloody legend
After a bunch of beer who doesn't?
@@aritzmartinezrodriguez1825 he’s probably the only premier league player that’s ever spoke to a normal lad on the street for longer than 2 minutes
@@willramsden8377 I wouldn't say the only but yeah, he definitely doesn't have the usual ego of someone that has reached his level.
What are you talking about, second hand kebab meat is some gourmet shit
Ben describing what he was eating and how he was thinking about the food just screams peak munchies moments
Im going to be completely honest. I was never into football⚽ growing up here in America. I never had the sports channels growing. We were way to poor for cable even. And as i was getting older i just looked past it just because i figured thats something u have to be introduced to when your a kid. You learn the sport and you know who your favorite club is. Im sure this sounds stupid, and sorry if it does. But when "welcome to wrexham" came out it looked interesting. Like this will tell me what this game is all about. And the fact its about a team in wales made it great for me. My mothers like great great grandparents are from wales. And its part of my ancestry i was always fascinated with. So i watch the show and i have to say. I truly love your town, country, your fans. The dedication that your town and fans rally around this team is incredible. And i love you guys just as much. Im so happy you guys got promoted. You all really eared it. And im so happy for rob and ryan. But im happiest for the town of wrexham. Always loyal. And im am to. I love soccer now. But only watching you guys. My dream vacation was universal studios Florida. But now i want to come to wales spend some time in wrexham and see the town and i want my first real in person soccer game i watch to be wrexham. And pop in to Ireland for visit. Maybe do an ancestry test and find some relatives that might still be alive in wale and ireland. Hopefully ur still play for them in a few yrs. Sry such a long winded message. But that just it. You made a random person in a small town in Pennsylvania who never liked ⚽ into a big fan. Thank you and ryan and rob and your team. You should all be proud of that. Just thought you should know. You gave me something to root for. Keep win.
" LETS GO WREXHAM!!! "
Ben, I'm in America, and was very much an ignorant American thinking soccer (football) was one of the most boring sports ever. 90+ minutes to end in a 0-0 tie? Preposterous. Who even wants to watch that?
Then of course Ryan and Rob do Welcome to Wrexham. I checked it out wondering who two celebrities with no experience would handle managing a professional sports club. I was captivated by the end of the season. The fans really sold me on why football is so treasured and enjoyed. The editing of the matches was dramatic and exciting. I could start to pick up on the subtle nuances of what makes the sport way more challenging than it first seems.
Then I found your vlogs recently and have been watching the run up to the promotion. The enthusiasm you have is unparalleled. You're absolutely right that people want a peak behind the curtain. Seeing how humble and passionate the lads are is truly an honor and appreciated. Taking this sport, league, and team that's an ocean away, an entire culture away, and making it not only accessible but engaging and exciting for someone like me is exactly what the internet should be used for. Connecting communities and people.
I live in a town where our American Football team was awful for decades, and we're starting to become a recognized and respected franchise again. I'm so glad the Wrexham fanbase and staff and players stuck it out. I know what it's like paying your dues and finally feeling rewarded. Thank you for sharing all that you do and being the utter ambassador that you are for the sport, the league, and the team.
I’ve just binged ‘welcome to Wrexham’ after following the whole Wrexham story recently, great stuff, Rob n Ryan are definitely sincere, they get it, now they’re getting the buzz, well done Wrexham, everyone 🏴🏴 Man U Salford
They are making money off Disney with that show. They are not stupid.
@@Uouttooo Of course they are, helps fund the club to keep costs down
They aren't nearly high enough for sponsors and ticket/merch sales to do all the heavy lifting for them yet, there's a reason they always say they want the club to be better off than when they came to it; and that's because they want it to be self sufficient
calm down hater@@Uouttooo
Me being from America I’m not the biggest football fan but I love Ben foster he’s such a genuine guy and he’s getting me into the world of football slowly but surely
Arguably Ben's greatest achievement. Yeah, he did promote to Premier League before, but the sheer impact this story has is of a greatness that is major to many achievements in football, ever
Being a guy from California that's been a fan of Football since only 2015/16 or so it's been so fun to watch this Wrexham journey and at the same time learning more about people in the UK and Europe in general. I've come to realize without a doubt there are so many misconceptions about almost every culture and sport alike. I know it sounds obvious but we're all much more alike than you would think. I am a Chelsea fan because I figured I had to pick a Premier League team but I've watched Rob McElhenny's show 'Always Sunny' for almost half my life so you bet your ass I feel obligated to root for his team. If it wasn't for Rob this doesn't even come close to happening IMO. Anyways, Cheers to Ben Foster and the whole Wrexham squad, I can't wait to watch Season 2 of Welcome to Wrexham. 🍻
Ben your an absolute star 🌟 you have to have another season 🎉
Agree
The deadpool glove is a beautiful gift. That movie was ryan reynolds comeback movie. Same way wrexham was foster's comeback to the game.
Lol the poor keeper who got injured😂😂
Can’t hear enough about all of this. Pure love. Ben the legend!
That was very generous of him. That stuff gains a lot of value over time. Specially when the movie is such a popular one
It's not the fact R&R helped get them back up and promoted that makes me smile, it's the way they went about it, that's what makes it so special for me.
Their passion really showed this season and I think some where still skeptical but seeing them attend big games , go on many interviews about the club, trying to constantly promote the club and making a show about the club really goes to show that they do care about this clubs legacy and exposure . I could see Wrexham being in the prem In probably 10 years.
@@DUGotd I think the biggest element for me is the team is secure, it has a plan, a direction, and the community it supports, and which supports it, is in a healthy state. and thats more important than being at the highest level (though would be nice)
As a Toon fan, I am so happy that you joining us wasn’t meant be and we got to join you on this dream of us all!
What a last couple of months it's been for you mate. Who could have ever predicted that? And because of RUclips we've all got to tag along for the ride. Fucking brilliant. What a time to be alive, eh?
Love Ben's excitement, This is the biggest day for a lot of national League and lower players that may not even make the team next year. This could be the best it gets for them so I hope they enjoyed every minute of it.
Ben Foster.
Legend, saver of goals, giver of gloves, a man who takes no prisoners (unless they're in possession of "Drunken cuisine") all round nice guy and much like Michael Jackson, has one special glove.
What an amazing effort from yourself and the team, the good people of Wrexham must be floating 10ft off the ground and it's been a long time coming.
This is thanks to the team, the supporters, the ground staff and the cleaners, the caterers, the Publican (Wayne), the owners, management, and anyone else I have forgotten to mention, Congratulations, you absolutely deserve it.
Love from a supporter in New Zealand.
Went to uni at Wrexham - the number of nights in the centenary, awesome. So damn good to see Wrexham get back into the EFL.
What a legend! Great to see Foz enjoying himself .
Fozzy the dog eating everyones 'leftovers' haha, what a gift by the way. The amount of gloves you've given away in your career cherished and loved by every fan that now has them. It's hard to believe that being gifted a glove could feel so special but it definitely does with this glove.
Just thinking of a drunk/tipsy Ben Foster fiending for other people's food through the streets of Wrexham is so fucking funny to me 🤣
Bolton fan here. I know how good it feels for fans when players go out and celebrate with you. Just secured league 1 play offs and the lads went to end of season awards and then came into the town centre into the bars and everyone was just buzzing to see them and celebrate with them. So much for of a connection with fans and players in the lower leagues. Top stuff
Always liked Bolton as a club, congrats to the lot of you
im a hammer but so pleased what you've done for Wrexham and just as important, what Wrexham have done for you!!! Take care mate👍👍👍👍⚒⚒⚒⚒⚒
What a great story. You're a born story teller for sure. I hope you give it one more go mate. Truly. Much love from Florida
Ben scabbing food is the best
yea, how starved must he have been at that point, probably hasnt had a meal since breakfast, played footie and partied for hours after. Those who shared with him must have looked like saints to him that night
Loved every second of this journey! Ryan and Rob just get it don't they! absolutely amazing people!
Ben “do you want some?” Foster
Absolutely class this Ben mate as always 🤙🏻🤌🏻
Ben deserved this, I'm happy to see you're having fun in this club.
wow ryan seems like the coolest guy, what a thoughtful gift
The original Van Wylder wasn't a movie it was a documentary
Eating all the fans food is wild 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Imagine there is someone in Wrexham being interviewed about the night after the match and he says "Ben Foxter came up to me and I offered some of my Kebab, and he took the entire Fecking thing ay !".
Much respect to the fan for feeding you, Foz. I'm sure you could get in touch with him somehow and buy him a sandwich.
Ben Foster randomly eating fans food. #legendary
It was a legendary night in Wrexham, pubs ran out of beer.
Here’s to the next promotion 🍺 🍺
Damn these dudes and the whole city really hit the jackpot. (Former) non league players relatively unknown to known by the world and on texting and drinkin terms with Ryan Reynolds lol that might be cooler than playing football honestly 😂.. saw something the other day that said Sheffield vs Wrexham was the most watched soccer match on espn in their history.
Shows how nice of a community Wrexham is
What I like about Rob and Ryan as owners, they feel like genuine fans of the game and club more than investors.
Eventho I’m not a Wrexham fan, I truly wish to see them even higher up and set a president for new owners.
i THOUGHT i saw him shivering in the beginning of the interview haha
Became a Foster fan after hearing they got him out of retirement. Sounds like a great guy you could just text and say, lets go get a drink and hang out. Congrats on the promotion. Hopefully another one soon.
Ben was always like that, even back in the early days at United, I'm still bummed about those injuries; he never properly got back to the level he was playing in his late teens but he never lost the tenacity and ability to predict the game
I remember when Ben announced he was coming out of retirement to help Wrexham my first thought is he won't let you down, he's kept incredibly fit, I watch his Cycling Goalkeeper channel, and watched him at Watford for years, I hope he will give another season even as a player coach
Just waiting for Ben to unveil his new venture 'Ben Foster - The Food Theft Podcast' lol!!!
🤣
I can't imagine the Cleveland Guardians walking around downtown Cleveland after winning a world series and going into bars loaded with celebrating fans. This story is just so cool. I realize that PL is different, the culture of English football below the PL is so cool.
That's the beauty of it, mate. Local people are going to see their local team a couple of miles away. You got the big names like liverpool and Man utd, but teams like Wrexham or Shrewsbury have more togetherness, but as you go up, money intervenes with the players and clubs get greedy by charging extortionate prices.
@@HarveyLFCtalk I get it. That's what facinates me. I loved the first season of WtW because you saw how emotionally tied to their teams. The only thing close to it here is college football.
It's non league football, can't compare it to professional football
@@tifts9719 Can't compare tp PL football. But for sure, L1 or L2 club fan bases are similar. even most EFL C clubs are similar. Maybe not the yo-yo clubs. But most of the lower and mid table ones are similar. Particularly outside of London and Birmingham and Manchester. I could be wrong, but that's how it looks to me.
Love to hear those after-game stories. Congrats!
you need to stay another season, the wrexham content is elite
I seriously can't get enough of these stories.
I can't help but think if it wasn't for Fozzie's save in that penalty against Notts County would Wrexham have made the final? I was a goal keeper for years, the buzz you get from saving a cracker is amazing.
That is why...good attacking forwards win games....while good defence win the league......🥰🥰🥰
Class act from ryan, top man, top owner.
Stick around mate ... this time next year, you'll get to do it all again👍
Deadpool Glove, mentioned with less then a minute to go in the video.
nice one
How good is this interview….OMG I’m buzzing again
Big man.........I just love watching your podcasts. Im actually buzzing with you. 😂 Im a Celtic fan but I have also been following Wrexham this season.
Sounds like a riot. Love the story told from Ben's point of view.
"Do you want some" legend
Not all championship players think their too big time. Sheffield United have been promoted to Prem twice in 4 years and both times all the team have gone out with all fans in pubs around ground. Wednesday night all first team were in a nightclub in Sheffield still in Training gear with all fans.
Ryan should get foster a specialised deadpool designed pair of goalie gloves.
Bloke is class in every sense.
Stockport county players did the same after the title win last year, came out with the fans afterwards it was cracking to see ❤
Ben I really hope you decide to come back for one more season with Wrexham. Plus Wrexham is rolling in to League 2... And U are definitely part of the team Ben
He confirmed that he was gonna come back for one more season.
Rinsing the kids for their food 😂😂
Nah thats got to be the coolest shit Ive ever heard and Ryan Reynolds got to be one of the best humans ever man wtf... he gave the other one to a guy with terminal cancer - what a fucking legend.
Wba legend, well done Fozzie
Ben is going to make a good pundit after his career. Love listening to him.
He is a bit too chav I think. Besides RUclips is better for him. His rules.
Great interview! 🤣🤣🤣
It was the same when bristol rovers got promoted. Players and fans all in the streets drinking and singing it was amazing
Foz you smashed it
Great story telling
I love this interview, please do more! American starving for Wrexham stories 🎉❤
Awesome episode. Keep up the good work.
Thanks!
Nice one Ben that's class!!
probably the best game I've seen in years it was unreal
If you re-sign for next year, you should have your keeper gloves made to look like deadpool gloves ...
I think most PL players would want to do that but the media would absolutely destroy them
From now on, anyone who meets Ben should just offer him food!
Seeing u buzzing Fozzie there is no way you aren’t having some again next season 😂 even without Gareth B! Glad u got so much out of it…ur retired a long time remember 👊👍can see u start 26/7 San Diego..u have to…..
