I’ve got an idea, been on my mind
I’ll share it with you and see what we find

There will never be a Band like this ever again before every passes away please no more Drama be fore its to late to have that Great all time Reunion tor get everyone who has ever been with Yes to come together and the Best shows ever it will make History believe Me
Howe will never allow that. He won't even talk to Anderson. He's driving the bus that was once Yes. Now they're Howe's back-up band. RIP Fish.
This is just incredible. Sherwood he’s definitely feeling some big bass guitar shoes. I’m loving this. Refreshing and new, and represents the natural evolution of Prog Rockers into jazzy rhythms more and more as they age.
Oh yes indeed. Totally agree.

Grandissimi YES!!!
I like very much indeed! ... I have a rock bottom low opinion of H&E but the two tracks previewed from the upcoming album have been a complete turn around...the orchestration is very Magnification. Great stuff, very much looking forward to the new release now!!
Heaven and Earth it grows on you in time. I rather like it now.
Much like "Union." I didn't like it at all back in the day. Now I love it!
@@tomdittburner1053 I have always loved the Union album from day one. I've been a Yes fan since I first heard the Yes Album in 1971. 64 years old now and I love all the different incarnations of Yes. Long Live YES !
Yeah, H&E has to be a low point, lowest of lows, in the band's career, IMO of course. I remember quotes from Howe at the time made it seem he saw it as a lackluster offering. -Magnification I love, was listening to it just today.
Heaven & Earth is the best album ever recorded by Yes
It does sounds like YES ❤️ But
One thing is missing here: The Chris Squire
R.I.P. Chris
yeah, and Jon Anderson.. and Rick Wakeman.. and Alan actually able to still drum..
@@markwooton7722 Alan is playing within the context of the song. Anderson quit years ago and Wakeman quit so many times its ridiculous.
Another thing that is missing is the 70s. Yes for this generation = I don't know. Only time will tell.
Rick is Rick. Yes is many things.
FOUR things are missing…Jon Anderson, Chris Squire, Rick Wakeman and Bill Bruford. Love me some Steve Howe and I can understand how he would not want to hang-it-up. But this is NOT Yes.
Eternally grateful to YES!! My absolute favorite band since I was 12. Just turned 65 a few days ago. Most beautiful music that has filled my heart and soul and made my journey here on earth soooo much more enjoyable. We've all been so Blessed to have them!! 🥰💖
🎵I'm not here to dissect Yes music or compare Yes music. I'm just here to enjoy Yes music!🎶
Beautiful just magnificent. I am definitely going to enjoy this Yes album.
Steve Howe sounds Jan Akkermanish in the beginning. It's like Focus melts into Yes Magnification era. The last (final?) Yes album with Jon Anderson on vocals. This track is probably better than the Heaven & Earth album contents. Plus a bit of pre "And through the rhythm of moving slowly" Tales era Yes.
Had that immediate impression also, like something left over from YesSymphonic. The initial chord progression also reminds me of Rick’s Tharsis Tholus off of The Red Planet, which I did not like at first but grew on me. This also could grow on me. I will buy this album when it’s released. I also like the new kaleidoscopic logo effect, it’s fresh like the two tracks I’ve heard, so far.
The intro makes me think a lot of Steve Howe's second solo album and the better moments from his first solo album.
I had that impression as well. It does remind me of the Focus 3 album.
Yep, these single note runs he plays in the intro are Akkerman inspired for sure.
Jon is not listed in the credits in the description. RIP Chris Squier
These two tracks really surprised me, I did not have great expectations. Now I'm really looking forward to hearing the whole album.
I enjoyed listening to it. Let's be fair this is a new Yes. To compare the new stuff to the classic material is pointless. Kudos to the band for attempting to make new music. 👍🌼
Why is it pointless? The call themselves Yes.
@@dewurstbursch5644 50 years passed man
They've moved forward. Seems you haven't. Music is about continued progression not replicating what people liked before. They're as proggy and Yes-like as ever. More power to them.
@@wodan999 This band has a long history of change, both musically and members in the band. This incarnation is missing the central thread, Chris Squire, who was present in >every< decade until he passed. Merely playing the same notes by other musicians does not capture the spirit of the band … that’s lost forever unless Jon rejoins which, let’s be honest, will never happen now that it has become a Steve Howe vanity project. 😵💫
Zzzzzzzzzzzzzz
ABSOLUTELY AMAZING ,YES HAS ALWAYS BEEN ONE OF FAVORITE BANDS, I LOVE PROGRESSIVE MUSIC THE BEST STUFF IN THE WORLD, THESE GUYS NEVER DISAPPOINT! AND ONE OF MY FAVORITE DRUMMERS FROM KING CRIMSON (BILL BRUFORD) PLAYED FOR THEM AS WELL 🤘😎🤘 THE FACT WERE GETTING A NEW YES ALBUM SOON IS A BLESSING TO THIS F#CKED UP WORLD! BUT ALSO BEAUTIFUL 🌎 LETS SPREAD MORE LOVE 🤘
Doesn't immediately impress me like The Ice Bridge did. But it sounds more recognizable as a Yes song.
How old are you@?
@@eugenewillems2873 why does that matter lol
Well, Ice Bridge didn't soundlike a Yes song ... cos it wasn't. LOL
Brilliant and beautiful! Can't wait for the album.
Beautiful. I'm an old fan from the seventies... "Yes", a soundtrack for my life since then. Thanks, guys, for giving us another dream of sound and colour. We wait for the new album. Greetings from Argentina !
Steve , Alan and Jeff are the elder members but they are still young....you are as young or as old as you think and feel.
Younger musicians can learn from Yes....if you are wise like these Yes members, take care of yourself, you can last a ling time and you can still perform and create.
These wise musicians have an obligation to their fans to keep productive and keep delivering the goods.
These guys are delivering the goods and are in excellent condition.
Many great and famous musicians have lived reckless life styles and looked old by the time that they were in their 30s.......many died young and those who are alive today look terrible sound terrible and play terrible....even if they wanted to, they can't produce...they cant deliver the goods to their fans..
But that is not true for Yes......Yes is still there for you people...lets get behind them and support them..
Bravo Yes...we live you..we thank you and you mean the world to us...
@@mariovuksanovic5077 Alan is not in excellent condition, I don’t know where you’re getting your info from but he’s had terrible back pain for more than a decade now
Yes...
You took my line I wrote long ago. The sound track of my life.
Yes, I agree with you. The guys are getting on in years, but still make beautiful and very listenable music.
sttgaegoaktd
😛😛😛😛😛😛
I realize these guys are getting up there in age, but I miss when Yes used to pack a punch....
YUP
Michael Anthony on bass might help with that
I don't believe it is because they can't pack a punch. They just inexplicably choose not to. But maybe you're right---maybe they can't pull it off anymore
@@Coolnesski Haha, imagine that.
Repetitive mellow themes seem to be the order of the day Yes 2021 let's hope there's a bit more fire on the album. Has age got something to do with it? but then I see Hackett and he's still got zing!
Why do people keep expecting the same thing they did 50 years ago? Are you the same today as you were 50 years ago?
It’s a beautiful composition played with the same virtuosity YES has always done!!
Very nice melody. You can tell they put much more time and effort into this recording than the last one. Billy doing a great job on bass!
Love the orchestral bits. Sounds like Yes meets The Moody Blues. Howe's guitar still has that classic 70s sound.
Only on the volume swells and acoustic. Ice Bridge sounded like maybe a Les Paul? Neither of these songs sounds like his 175.
Maaan this orchestral part after first verse is really a something:) Sounds like from a movie. Majestic, powerfull :)
Obviously you either never saw the Moody Blues or the classic Yes. Or you are unable to assimilate the original iconic masterpieces they bestowed upon us. Go back. Go back and. Rejoice in the original not this craven boring desperate cover band.
This song makes me realize how much Chris added with his singing ... it is sorely missed here
the bass playing, I miss even more....
Sad to admit, but you're terribly right with both aspects.
Amen brother!
The harmonies between Jon and Chris are a must for any version of Yes, the music on this track is classic yes beyond a doubt, but when the singing starts, it just makes you recoil, at least get Jon back in singing, but Chris? He left a huge pair of boots behind, and they haven't been filled yet
Chris’ bass playing was well recognized. His incredible singing went largely under the radar.
There is a time for everything. Nobody likes gettin old
I had yet another one of those "A Venture" moments at the end where Steve Howe's gorgeous guitar faded out with the song. I kept turning my volume up and up to savor every last note.
Nice to hear Yes back to songs that we can remember after we've heard them.
very nice piece, looking forward to the full release!
After listening to this song many times I have to admit that it is mind transcending. The sheer beauty of it is glorious and moving. As with most of YES creations I'm waiting for the entire picture to be unveiled with the colors of the other tracks surrounding Dare To Know and The Ice Bridge. Thanks guy's (Yes), for keeping alive the Perpetual Change of the Mind Drive...which for me is hope.
Mind transcending. ???? Are u for real. I was embarrassed listening to the lyrics . Embarrassed I tell you .
Ou män de jus!
Hier de Yepsen, män
Beautiful atmosphere, tipical from Yes. ❤️
@@vincenzofidone3937 Typical from 'Ies' , lol
Decent song, but I do hope they have some more up-tempo and/or edgy work on this album
Heaven and Earth was a bit too tame for my tastes, although it was pleasant
I agree.
I love Yes - but somehow most of what they've released in the Jon Davison era just feels... vague, unfocused, and perpetually gentle.
Aye. Sadly, nothing innovative
Just thinking back to Fragile, CTTE, Relayer, Going for the One ...
@@clowncarqingdao I mean, Fly From Here was one of my favourite albums. It was dynamic, ambitious and varied. Its why the transition to a more easy listening approach is rather odd - they're one of the few classic British rock bands who have still released great new stuff in the last 20 years
I agree.
This is not Yesmusic.
@@katemurphy1915 Possibly elevator music or something that you would listen to while shopping, that's about it, you are correct Kate
This is the first album that I am interested in buying since Jon Anderson left the band.
I like this a lot - very graceful playing, great melody. I do hear what Eduard Antoniu mentioned - there was a song on the Focus Moving Waves release that had a similar (but not the same) melody. Excited for the full release now. I wasn't wild at all about Heaven & Earth, this is welcomed !!!!
Amazing how Steve still preserves that same classic 1970s guitar tone. Honestly feels like this song is a relic from the past
Yes, Especially when that steel guitar sound erupts,
sounding a lot like it did on the Tales From Topographic Oceans album.
Great observation! The drum sound is unnatural, but it did not prevent me from enjoying the composition.
@@witeskyn7 That's not steel guitar. It's his volume pedal.
I agree. As soon as the song started, I was pulled back into the 70's when I first discovered their wonderful sound!
On a Line 6 Spider
It just dawned on me again that this the very first Yes album without Chris.
In times like this I like to combine my two favourite Prog artists, Chris Squire and Steve Hackett : ruclips.net/video/ByZHl1NK_Jo/видео.html
No puedo decir que es malo musicalmente hablando, pero se nota demasiado que la energía del rock sinfónico ya no la tiene el actual grupo.Poco o nulo poder y fuerza.Muy balada el tema.
Si
I'm sorry but JD is not Jon Anderson. The lyrics also lack any sense of raw and spirited gusto that Jon would have created through true collaboration. "I've got an idea," stop telling us about the process of coming up with an idea searching for that elusive grail of "the lost chord," and actually say something meaningful and new. Why does JD always try to sound like a ghostly pseudo-Jon. Although I love Steve Howe, the guitar work in the opening is Muzak sounding; although, he does get better as the song progresses. The orchestration is plodding mostly, and I miss Chris Squire the most listening to this mashed-up iteration of what once was a great band.
I am not an Anderson purist (I LOVED Drama and really liked Fly From Here), but it is JD that puts me off so much. His voice is just insipid and lacks any real power, and it always seems like his approach to writing lyrics (assuming he is the one who writes them) is "I need to say things as much like Jon Anderson as possible" so there's no real authenticity to them. I believe Benoit David was a much better choice for carrying Yes forward, but here we are. :(
You like it then? LOL
@@seancamp2985 i could be wrong, 😉,but this sounds like Steve Howe lyrics.
Really i wish Anderson was back in the band but he burned his own bridges long ago as far as his lyrics even he doesn't know what most of them mean.
This song reminds me that Yes music is eternal. I love it!
Reminiscencias de Keys to Ascensión + Magnificatión + Time and a Word (según mi sensibilidad)
Also Steve Howe's The Steve Howe Album.
Fly From Here !
Still a much better Album !
Better than the last 2 .
Bring back Benoit and Oliver !!
This sounds like Business Class pre-flight service music. Yes, I'll take a Mimosa. Thank you.
I'm sure there's plenty of "Crue" videos out there for you.
@@billadkins5150 well, the intro sounds like "relaxing evening-nighttime FM music" to me, to be honest. I think Spencer is quite right.
Im.....Sure Chris Is Very Proud..He Wanted The Band To Continue.......R.I.P. Chris.......
This sounds like an "missing link" between the albums "Time" and "Love Is" by Howe
That's it.
哀愁漂う美しい曲ですね。スティーヴハウ節全開です。日本の万華鏡の様な映像も素敵です。
Beautiful Yes Song Mr.Steve Howe is Brilliant Guitar Player Song Writer
Chris, Jon, and Rick...
You can tell they weren't involved with this recording. This is like a 20th generation Xerox copy, the details are fuzzy and not at all like the original. I'll stick with my 70's Yes collection.
We’re getting a new YES album😳?! 💿 this is a beautiful day 😭😭😭😭🤘🤘🤘🤘 #progrock 😎
Another winning creation. I'm looking forward to hearing the rest. There are so many folks that don't seem to want to give YES a chance to continue with the loss of some of the older members. Other bands have changed their "sound" over the years...and are still loved by their fans. I'm a YES fan...... these two offerings will definitely be a part of my music library when they are released....along with the rest of the album if it follows suit. Play on YES! Shine that light.
Same I'm still a fan. I'm really excited for October.
Agreed Brent.
Could not agree more, Brent.
Long time fan here (since 1971), I will be happy to add this to my collection.
Preach! So tired the of bashers and naysayers. Rock critics always hated Yes, but now it seems like no one hates Yes more than those who claim to be their "fans". Sick of it. The 2 new songs we've gotten so far are terrific.
@@michaelfaith3 100% correct
One of the challenges of listening to a band that has been around for a lifetime, is that you yearn to hear the sounds that inspired you in your youth coming at you new in the present. But from the point of view of the creators of the music there is no going back in time. If they tried to make another close to the edge it would just be regurgitation. Which is about as unappealing as it sounds. And besides, they already did that and they are not in the same place any longer. Steve could play all the frilly guitar parts he wants to...but I'm sure he doesnt want to. Been there done that. So I tried to put aside all my previous likes and dislikes, and just listen. I was very pleased. It has a strong melodic line that is very beautiful. It runs through shifting patterns of tones and holds them together harmoniously. The lyrics are spiritual without being preachy. All in all an excellent work. I look forward to hearing the entire release! Thank you for this song!
Incredible review exactly how I feel.
I agree! There has been several points in Yeses career where reinvented themselves, like with the Yes Album, CTTE, Drama, 90125.. Some of these changes took several years before we appreciated it. I do hope the orchestration bits get kept to a minumum. I would rather hear the band play more with a fuller sound.
Perfectly stated, wonderful thoughts on a beautiful song
Every great artist and scientist peak 15-30 years old. It’s established fact. Older people can’t match the work of their prime. When they are truly great they shouldn’t keep trying to fight Mother Nature. It’s futile.
Definitely captures the "I'm going on an adventure" vibe.
"Kaleidoscopic" YES!! ✨ I missed these soft sounds, supported by such suggestive images ... welcome again to our musical journey ... !! ❤️
Chris Squire is gone. To expect anyone, including even geddy Lee to step in and BE Chris Squire would be impossible. This lineup was put together by CHRIS SQUIRE. Folks may get more out of this Yes line-up by just accepting it at face value. It’s Yes with some key folks missing.
Now that being said, Steve Howe is still Steve Howe and he’s still playing up to par in his technique and sound both on acoustic guitar and electric guitar. I find myself looking to this Yes lineup to see and hear Steve Howe as a loyal fan of his. I can only hope that one day Steve and Jon Anderson and Rick Wakeman could bury the hatchet and perhaps treat the Yes fans to a recording at the very least. But yet again, there’ll be people saying “there’s no Chris Squire so this ain’t YES” so even then you’ll have to take it at face value for what it is. Yes has become what they’ve always been, even when Chris squire was around, and that is ; a revolving door of musicians in an ever changing group. If I had it my way id have squire, Anderson, Wakeman, Howe and white in the band forever, but only G-d can make that happen. We gotta try to enjoy the gents while we still have them in the world..
Amen brother they are my favorite band for a reason regardless of line up. Some are better then others but short of making an album using an Italian restaurant menu as song titles yes pretty much gets a free pass on anything they do
VERY well said!🎸🎯
Not my favorite but I give them a lot of credit for producing new music when most bands just sit back and milk the stuff they produced years ago.
Some beautiful chord sequences in there.
The song is magnificent. While it's hard to hear through the bias of their classic past, considered for what we have for today, this is an absolute masterpiece... for me at least.
My feelings exactly.
Stunning video. Song could use more "Punch" and "Pow" though. A quiet thoughtful song, with the accent on "quiet". YES is my favorite band. Always have been. Hope there are some faster, stronger songs on the new album than the 2 that have been released. At least rework this one for the live show so I do not fall asleep in my chair. Please....
Ice Bridge is very up-tempo. The keyboard/ guitar jam in the second half is as rocking as anything Yes has ever done.
Doesn't do anything for me. Been a huge fan since Fragile came out, but this is just blah.
Unfortunately I agree. There are a few moments with nice guitar work but overall a bit boring.
A bit rude, but sadly true, nothing here to really catch the ear....
Heaven & Earth 2
This song has some nice melodies very pleasing. The sweet orchestral passage is quaint, and Steve’s guitar really shines throughout. So all told so much to look forward too this October... whatever the rest of the album brings already so much better than Heaven and Earth.
Absolutely wonderful! So far, two tracks that take you on a journey. First day buyer.
Extraordinary piece of music. Great vocal collaboration and excellent melody.
I liked The Ice Bridge but this is a bit lightweight.
Sounds more like Starcastle-lite, than Yes
Initially I didn’t like the song, but it grew on me…YES.
This is one of the most beautiful songs ever created. I am obsessed with The Quest! This is exactly what I love about listening to a new Yes album, it is something different but familiar. Such a refreshing and relaxing album!
Got only one word to say: YES !!!!
Yawn (
Beautiful song. Yes forever !!!
- now that I've listened to this a couple more times, I'm not feeling any boundary-pushing. It's very safe and pretty. Evocative of earlier stuff, but it doesn't actually go places like so much of their past output did. I've been so grateful for this band's longevity and I know some gems may yet be in the pipeline, but... I am past simply 'missing' Jon, Rick & Chris.
What exactly would be "boundary-pushing?"
And Bruford - this is just a Yes cover band.
Yeah, can’t wait for the album 💿
Saludos... Muy buena melodía, se distingue claramente la mano de Howe, la voz de Anderson daría mayor magia.
Es difícil acostumbrarnos a Yes sin Squire y Anderson

I'm not gonna downvote it, but it's not getting an upvote either. No hook, no lead, no obvious theme and it's really slow
Bingo. Well said. Bedtime music.
I’ve preordered this, but so far I’m underwhelmed. The saddest thing being, there’s a very real possibility that this lightweight effort will be the last album from a former heavyweight. So sad.
Absolutely agree. There is no energy, no feel at all with this song. Hope the album will not be as bad as the Heaven and earth one!!
Based on the two single releases I'm passing on this album ... RIP Yes....
Tales and Magnification vibes here!!! 👌🏻🔥
A delicate song, fine, soft, emotional. A great work. I'm obsessed now with the song
Sorry but that‘s not „my Yes“ any more. Missing Chris and Jon a lot.
I really miss Jon Anderson and Chris Squire. One could be brought back. Sadly, the other can't. There isn't a single original member left in YES. Sorry, but this ballad stuff just doesn't do it for me. For me, it is too insipid.
Great YES with an Icelandic landscape
🎶 Dare To Know 🎶 Thanks Yes For Such An Excellent & Fantastic Track 🎶 Looking Forward The New Album 🎤🎹🎸🥁🎸🎼🎤🎹🎸🥁🎸🎼. 🎤🎹🎸🥁🎸🎼
3 out of 6 of those guitars are out of tune..
YES goes soft rock. Laid back to the 3rd power.
Love The New Tunes...Great Job...
Sorry to say that because I'm a big Yes fan, but this sounds like a C-Side of one of the 70's singles, melodically is worst than any Heaven & Earth song.....and that was their worst album ever done, in my opinion.. I'm sorry, really sorry, but this is not YES especially on melodic side. Boring!
Wait-singles have C-sides!? 😅😉
I love everything about this track, its a wonderful Yes song. Cant wait for the album to drop!
I like the addition of the orchestra. Gives it a Magnification vibe. So far, this album is exceeding my expectations (which were kind of low after Heaven and Earth and Chris's passing, sorry to say). Looking forward to October.
They wouldn't need an orchestra with Wakeman either). Or Moraz. or Igor. or Brislin. Downes is a weak link. In addition his synth sounds are purely original moog.
Not disagreeing with you. I like Downes' work with Asia, but here it's a bit too low-key for me. And the whole reason Magnification had an orchestra is because Igor had been fired, and Rick was unavailable. Turned out to be pretty awesome, but...yep.
Beautiful song!
Me parece una broma. Esto es lo mejor que pueden hacer?Lastima que ARW no prosperara. La música es blandita, lenta e insustancial.
Howe es un cabezón,no da el brazo a torcer para que vuelva Anderson, lo necesita como el comer
A beautiful journey of emotions, magic, nature and art, with an extraordinary and timeless song, it´s YES forever!
Nice melody once the vocals began.
Thank you.
The video is much better than the song. Tired of the soft stuff. Sounds like Heaven and Earth meets a 50's movie. Not interested in this path. Where is Monkman the savior? I hope there is some energy left on other songs.
: Universal Acceptance Music!👍❤️
Well, usually a classic world-famous band doesn’t release something that sounds like it could go directly to an elevator music feed, but here it is.
Sounds like the music I go to sleep to. I am 62 years old and a lifelong fan. At least write a song that keeps me awake.
What about "Clear Days," "Sweetness," "Onward," "Soft as a Dove," "Madrigal," and countless Anderson solo tracks.
I like the song, but I think it shouldn't have been released as a single.
You would probably enjoy the music of Limp Bizkit. None of there music is subtle and refined.

Well said 👍
Not that bad but the real YES it’s something else….a bit sugary, not exactly how I like YES,sorry guys
Just because Jon Anderson wrote abstract lyrics doesn't mean they have to follow that path. This is lyrically meaningless.
Very cool indeed!
Yes ended a long time ago, but I like this new band a lot. They need to retire the name and embrace the new music they're making.
We need a full length Yes/Roger Dean/Studio Ghibli anime/rock opera movie with the classic 70s tracks
Man you need to move on its 2021
This is more of the Yes we know, I actually think I might like this better than The Ice Bridge
Definitely!
The Ice Bridge sounds like all the worst aspects of some of the H&E material.
This is much better.
Played at 1.5 speed, the bit at 0:25 - 1:20 actually sounds like something they would have done a few decades ago.
Thx for the suggestion 🤓 1.5x (and pitch corrected) adds a bit of energy, doesn't it?
I'm glad you're making music again.
Beautiful Video... Chris must Love this! YES is the Best Band, and Roger Dean is my Favorite Artist... 4-Ever!
This is a very sweet song, and the orchestration odes much more than on Magnification. Just IMO of course
This one may take a few plays and perhaps where it is placed on the album will help it being as it is a " break". Very much like something that would fit into Howe's Love album..it has a magnification feel to it as well. They have never as a band been afraid to expand their sounds..3 plays now and it grows on you...I givevthis a possible thumbs up but definitely not a thumbs down...
Me gusta!
