Somewhere near the waterfront where public transportation is a little bit more convenient for the people...or even in a place like Newark?
As a fellow Jersey resident, I actually like that idea of somehow building a stadium in either Jersey City or maybe Hoboken. Would be a real downtown feel with amazing public transit abilities and of course would be on the waterfront
No one would go to Newark , would scare off people. Jersey City would be worse than the current stadium, you have limited access and the Streets there are a mess.

I think it's time for the NY Jets to get their own Stadium in willets point queens, because I was never too crazy sharing a stadium with the Giants. It's been going on regularly since 1984.
The stadium cost $1.6 billion, not $1 billion. And that was in 2010 dollars. And it was the most expensive stadium ever built in the US at that point. And it is still pretty close to the top.
Did I just hear you say that you’re tired of all these translucent roof stadiums? You’re Mr. translucent roof how can that be? Lol… love the channel, brother.
MetLife stadium needs an serious upgrade/rebuild I feel like it could’ve been a stadium similar to the AT&T stadium in Dallas with some variety of colors that represents the Giants.
as a new yorker, it'll never happen., Theres no space in Queens. Look how long it took NYCFC to get a stadium. The jets would move out of NY metro area before they build a new stadium anywhere in NYC
They are building a 35,000 soccer stadium where some auto shops are behind Citi Field that politician tried to push it up to 65,000 and the city wouldn’t budge its old news.
They (NYCFC) are building a 25k stadium. Unless Jets gonna put up money to add the extra seats, NYCFC have no reason to add more money for a bigger capacity.
They've already started building the infrastructure for the new MLS stadium. They already have plans to erect a mix use neighborhood around the new stadium. Cohen wants to build a new casino in the Citi Field parking lot. There's a lot of red tape with the city before that can even get approved. It may or may not happen. So a new Jets stadium in Flushing Meadow is VERY unlikely atm. As a lifelong Queens resident, I don't want either.
@@christophercancel934 Dummy Its gonna cost you money if you live in NYC and the taxes in that area are already so high that people are leaving. You think building a fancy stadium that'll be the talk of the town for 2-5 years won't result in the feeling of "Keeping up with the Joneses" 2 decades from now? The Metlife Stadium is just over 20 years old. At some point, the threat of relocation should result in you paying for a stadium you only get to use 5 months out of the year. Especially if you have more pressing financial issues in your city or state.
@@christophercancel934 Then why are you talking about a public funding matter that doesn't concern you? I'll say this much, if NYC Citizens wanna spend 5 Billion for their J.E.T.S. Jets, Jets, Jets, then they might as well spend they're money to buy a Bridge in Brooklyn.
Where exactly is the available land in Queens to build an NFL stadium? The approved NYCFC stadium is getting affordable housing built around it. If approved the Mets parking lots would be cluttered with a casino, garages, and a park. Land is scarce The Jets already heavily invested in their training facilities in NJ. MetLife Stadium is getting a natural grass field for the world cup. The stadium itself is plain but the location really is perfect near several highways + public transit. Fans would not be happy about buying another PSL after 20 years.
MetLife Stadium is an architectural bore. When I first saw the stadium when driving in from Queens, my first thought was that it looked like an air conditioning unit.
It’s the same damn 100 yards no matter what a stadium looks like ..Try investing money into quality players who win and people will show up ..Who the hell goes to a game to see a stadium ? And if these stadiums are all about owners egos then don’t ask the public to fork over one red cent to help build their dream unless they are giving the taxpayers free tickets to the stadiums they paid for .
Theres a big difference if jets come back to new york then they get additional revenue for all games played if not new jersey does. So yea more than just a stadium. Also as been stated who flips the bill for this stadium is big as well.
I miss old Giants Stadium. When it opened, it was rated one of the top stadiums in the country. It wasn't bad to watch a game from there. Even saw the Cosmos. It had Giants colors, blue and red, which is why the Jets never felt at home there. This brought the neutral colors at Metlife. If the Jets pull out, maybe they can give MetLife a more Giants feel as Giants Stadium had.
Why would you describe Metlife Stadium as cheap? Where talking about inflationary pricing. Where talking about over regulation in construction cost. Where talking likely about fleecing and boondoggling in money by both New York & The NFL. Why would the Jets or the Giants deserve a new stadium with the way they're playing anyway?
Where would the Jets stadium go in Flushing/Corona Park? Steve Cohen already has plans to build a hotel + casino next to Citi Field. Plus, NYCFC already started building their stadium. Would Cohen abandon his plans for a Jets stadium? By the way, it seems a little excessive to have a NFL Stadium (80k cap), MLB Stadium (45k cap), MLS stadium (25k cap), and US Open/Tennis (24k cap) all in the same area. I know we’re deviating further from multi purpose stadiums and more towards experiences but this appears wild.
moving back to queens would be dope, would be like one of those cool soccer stadiums in the middle of a neighborhood, everyone taking public transit to the games
Put it in the Bronx. With NYCFC about to have their own place in Queens I think spreading the sports arenas throughout the city vs concentrating them in one borough makes more sense
The actual cost of the MetLife stadium at the time of it opened was $1.6 billion. This made the stadium the most expensive stadium ever built at that time. It would be quickly replaced by more expensive stadiums. However, to make it sound like they built it cheaply false and just shows your lack of knowledge.
On the surface, the idea seems excessive. However, the Jets have always been the "other" team at MetLife. If they had their own stadium, it could be a huge upgrade over MetLife. We're talking about a dome. It could be the "Queens palace" where events are held year-round. International soccer games, concerts, conventions, Super Bowls. Imagine a Super Bowl in New York, because of the dome, every decade. National conventions more and more frequent. It would be THE destination for live concerts, where performers would conclude a tour with a massive show. And the Jets would have a home of their own, the same as 29 other teams. There could be some public funding, but this would be a venue that instead of sitting idle like so many stadiums, would make money$$$. However, a dome is a necessity.
There is no shot that Woody Johnson moves the Jets to NYC. Woody lives in NJ and Jets HQ is in NJ. How many games do they play in a stadium anyway each year? If the Jets actually had winning seasons nobody would care about the stadium.
Pontiac Silverdome was built for 50 million in 1976. (350 million in todays dollars) It had 80,000 seats and was the first domed stadium. It lasted less than 25 years before it was abandoned.
Jets playing in Queens or NYC would be the worst idea ever. Congestion pricing, Speeding Cameras, Bike Lanes, Noise Cameras, construction and much more would make it a miserable experience.
I wish the Hudson Yards stadium was built instead of this. MetLife isn’t bad but I wish there was some mixed use development and better transit surrounding it
There is a friggen NJT train line steps away from one of its main gates. There is 2 bus lines that regularly stop in the stadium side of the complex every day at least hourly. There is another 3 NJT local bus routes that serve nearby american dream. Another 3 bus routes that service nearby rt 120. Gameday service to PABT from coach USA. And on weekend NJT has an express service to and from the American dream. How much friggen better can you get transit wise
@@johnsamoilis6379 Yeah, all correct. The mall is right there. So is that horrid train. So is Paterson Plank Road, which gives access to 17 & 80. So is Route 3 and the Turnpike.
You build a stadium only be used 8 times a year. Maybe one NHL outdoor game and few concerts that won’t sell out totally. Can you fill it with WWE event?
Instead of Queens why don’t the Jets build in Long Island. Tear down Nassau Coliseum like they should have when the Islanders left. Build a new stadium there.
Listen, as a New Jersey resident I am 100% FOR tearing down MetLife and building a brand new stadium. Often I think about how many cool events that we miss out on simply because of what MetLife is: it isn't a dome so we've missed out on numerous SUPER BOWLS, NCAA Final Fours, College Football national championships, and hell even some NFL drafts. If we build a brand new stadium that has the advanced capabilities like SoFi it could bring so much more money to the region. I think its something that should be looked into on both sides
MetLife Stadium is the worst stadium in the NFL, Its the worst stadium in the tri state area and maybe the worst stadium in sports. It has absolutely no soul whatsoever. There's no personality to it at all. Just metal, concrete and ads. There's nothing special about watching a game there. I would much rather go to Queens to watch the games. Also with all the scams, taxes, stealing there is no way they can build this thing cheaper.
*MetLife is an amazing looking stadium. I like the open airness of the stadium. Intimidating stadium. No roof is better than having a roof. It's a true stadium, unlike all these new roofed indoor arena stadiums, which feels like playing in a hall.*
@@HoshizakiYoshimasaI think open air stadiums are infinitely better for concerts, but that's personal preference. @@scottstabbert8498 the problem is you can't host other events in open air stadiums up north from late fall to mid spring, because it gets to cold. So you have that large gap where the stadium sits dorment.
This has been my dream as a JETS fan since I was a kid! I remember when I lived in NYC in the early 2000s & there was talk about them getting a stadium on the upper west side of Manhattan. Taking the subway to a new JETS stadium would been awesome. But that never happened.
given how strong the relationship between tailgating and live football is.. don't think this will go over as well with season ticket holders if this is not a typical drive up and park type stadium...taking mass transit to a football game is a totally different experience
I enjoyed this video even though it’s somewhat speculative. I believe there is some truth to this and as a Jets fan who lives on Long Island I would be very happy to only have to drive 45 minutes to a game rather than two hours and then four hours coming home
I’m ecstatic as a jets fan on Long Island but I don’t buy it. I could be wrong but what’s the incentive for the jets to spend more when fans will show up regardless of the stadium? Second, there’s at least 10 stadiums in the area. Will the residents be fine with stadiums popping up left and right? Lastly, probably more importantly, where is this stadium going? The Citi field area already feels tight, add an MLS stadium, and an NFL one, and it just doesn’t seem possible. Again, not an expert, but that’s how it feels. Unless the jets team up with NYCFC and the MLS approves a joint stadium, which I know the MLS prefers soccer specific. Or they can sell them on making NYC the largest, premier soccer stadium for the national team as well. I’m rambling, although how unlikely, it’s good news as a jets fan. Come back home.
MetLife is an absolute joke and has not been embraced by Jets fans from day one. However, am skeptical that the Jets will ever end up moving back to Queens. For one thing, Woody Johnson lives in New Jersey, and I can't see him moving out of his own home state. Secondly, where is this new stadium going to be? The new soccer stadium is already under construction as the land where the junkyards and auto repair shops has already been cleared out. The new plans by Cohen have not yet been approved and even if they were, there's no room for a massive 70,000 or 80,000 seat stadium.
If they want to build a new stadium then build it on the old Nassau Coliseum site, convenient to parkways and centrally located for Queens and Long Island residents.
6:30 My dude turf is factually causes more injuries then real grass. This is something that is not the board out of proportions. There’s multiple statistics that prove this. He is correct that Soldier Field and Fed Ex Field cause more serious injuries even though they have grass. Met Life is one of the worst but there is more to it than simply adding grass.
which was approved along with a hotel and housing 2 weeks ago. Why this has suddenly become a story is not based in fact or reality. Jets are not building a stadium at Willets Point.

@@njlauren Correct, the A train gets there but it is near the end of the line and would take over an hour to get there from Penn Station and probably 1.5 hrs from LIRR/Jamaica. Not a viable option. And the traffic on the Belt is always a disaster.
Why do not people like the stadium in a random parking lot surrounded by a swamp in New Jersey not accessible to the actual City.... I wonder why...
Cause Monster Jam made history there
The irony is that the past 3 or 4 times I've been there, I've gotten out of the lots in 20 mins or less driving my own car.
The crowds waiting for the train or bus? Wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyy longer.
Worth pointing out.
the land is cheaper and he does not cause the relation of many of people as other locations.
It's 8 miles from the Lincoln Tunnel. Chill.
Have you ever been to a tailgate in the parking lot?!
If the Jets leave and the Giants renovate MetLife to make it look more Giants specific it could look a lot better.
Giants should be renamed, New Jersey Giants if New York decides to leave for queens
Makes scenes for both. New Jersey fans get a team and New York fans get a real team in NYC
I can go with that
Yeah a team that never wins anything.@@frankdegarcia unfortunately the real NY team will never move to the Bronx,or even Manhattan.

I would love to see the Jets come back to NYC. They're the NY Jets, not the NJ Jets.
You must be a Jets fan cause you are OBSESSED with this stadium proposal. You bring it up quite frequently.
Maaaaaan if the Jets move to Queens that would be awesome. As a die hard Jets fan going to New Jersey to watch them play is absurd.
**Triggered** As a Jets fan in Jersey and a huge proponent of state love and pride, I can't imagine the Jets moving back to Queens.
They moved to Jersey a couple of years before a lot of us were conceived, so we're talking about 40 years!!
If they want a new stadium, why not somewhere in Jersey like Jersey City? Somewhere near the waterfront where public transportation is a little bit more convenient for the people...or even in a place like Newark?
As a fellow Jersey resident, I actually like that idea of somehow building a stadium in either Jersey City or maybe Hoboken. Would be a real downtown feel with amazing public transit abilities and of course would be on the waterfront
@@javianjohnson8746 - Hoboken!!! Even better!!! Love that idea, bro!! Get the Jersey lawmakers to counter the Queens proposal, immediately!!!
Jets can’t play in jersey city
@@Newyorkgiants123 - Awesome feedback there. You're a real orator and go into great detail! SMH
No one would go to Newark , would scare off people. Jersey City would be worse than the current stadium, you have limited access and the Streets there are a mess.
For the United Football League seasons, The New Jersey Generals take MetLife Stadium and the New York Hitmen play at West Side Stadium with the New York Jets
Maybe a hot take, but I feel like the Jets have a better identity in New York than the Giants do and them actually playing IN New York feels right.
the most out of touch take... 4 superbowls over 1. math says giants are 4 times as valuable. new yorkers dont like losers
😂 what are you yapping about? The Giants are 100 years old and they have won 4 NFL championships before the super bowl era in NY and after that 4 more super bowls and you're telling me about indentity?
😊hey boubacre. Even after the jets won in 1969 the giants were still the more popular team in ny 4 Super Bowls to 1
Tell me you don’t live in New York City without telling me you don’t live in New York City
The Jets have no identity in NY. Most NYers prefer the the Giants. Not to mention, NYC is actually a baseball town.
There is a huge difference between artificial turf and natural grass. I played football all through college and everyone i played on art. turf i could feel it in my knees by halftime and all of my lower joints would be sore until at least the next day. In college you're young so i could imagine how it would feel for late 20s - early 30s with all the miles those guys already have on their joints
I think it's time for the NY Jets to get their own Stadium in willets point queens, because I was never too crazy sharing a stadium with the Giants. It's been going on regularly since 1984.
Sorry, NYCFC beat them to it.
Look friend!, I felt that new stadium for the NY Jets should be on the old Shea Stadium site!
The stadium cost $1.6 billion, not $1 billion. And that was in 2010 dollars. And it was the most expensive stadium ever built in the US at that point. And it is still pretty close to the top.
The Jets playing in NJ has always been a disgrace.

Thank for you doing this
They are building a 35,000 soccer stadium where some auto shops are behind Citi Field that politician tried to push it up to 65,000 and the city wouldn’t budge its old news.
Actually, 25,000.
Metlife us a shit hole
They (NYCFC) are building a 25k stadium. Unless Jets gonna put up money to add the extra seats, NYCFC have no reason to add more money for a bigger capacity.
The Jets Were Supposed to Move Back to N.Y.C., N.Y. Beginning in 1988, That Was The Original Deal They Made with The Giants.
As a huge Jets fan this makes me so excited. I live about 15 minutes from where they want to build it!
Jets absolutely need to bring the Jets back to NY. Best move they could make. And Woody is right, that turf is hurting players
An its gonna cost as much as the Bears Stadium. Especially for a team that plays like the Bears.
@@graymanmedia and Woody is too cheap for a project like that, and that's just one of my reasons I despise him.
@@graymanmedia my taxes have nothing to do with it, it's Woody's problem; not mine.
Land is scarce
The Jets already heavily invested in their training facilities in NJ.
Also as been stated who flips the bill for this stadium is big as well.
every game is a sell out
There is no room near CitiField unless you bulldoze Corona which is largely illegal immigrants anyways.
Please please Jets leave that stadium and build your own. This is part of the curse the Jets have.
You leave out something soccer fans don't do, tailgating .
@@njlauren idk man i’ve seen some brazilian teams and stuff and they’re all tailgating outside but yeah i didn’t think about that tho
If the Jets actually had winning seasons nobody would care about the stadium.
maybe jets moved hq to hostra collage again
Pontiac Silverdome was built for 50 million in 1976. (350 million in todays dollars) It had 80,000 seats and was the first domed stadium. It lasted less than 25 years before it was abandoned.
Jets playing in Queens or NYC would be the worst idea ever. Congestion pricing, Speeding Cameras, Bike Lanes, Noise Cameras, construction and much more would make it a miserable experience.
I'm old school. Loved the Jets at Shea in NY
The MTA didn't wanted
I love Metlife and the Mall next door. But I'd love our own.
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson will bring back the New Jersey Generals and New York Hitman to the United Football League
Good Point
Listen, as a New Jersey resident I am 100% FOR tearing down MetLife and building a brand new stadium. Often I think about how many cool events that we miss out on simply because of what MetLife is: it isn't a dome so we've missed out on numerous SUPER BOWLS, NCAA Final Fours, College Football national championships, and hell even some NFL drafts. If we build a brand new stadium that has the advanced capabilities like SoFi it could bring so much more money to the region.
I think its something that should be looked into on both sides
Narrator: They arent building a new stadium....for A LONG TIME.
That's why Nashville is building a dome for the Titans.
FedEx field is much worse than MetLife
*MetLife is an amazing looking stadium. I like the open airness of the stadium. Intimidating stadium. No roof is better than having a roof. It's a true stadium, unlike all these new roofed indoor arena stadiums, which feels like playing in a hall.*
Gone are the days of muddy football, hell uniforms don't really get dirty only grass and paint stains
Roof or Retractable roofs stadiums are better because they can host Final Fours. Outdoor only stadiums are only better for Baseball.
@@HoshizakiYoshimasaI think open air stadiums are infinitely better for concerts, but that's personal preference. Small detail but they can do more aerial pyrotechnics for any event, sporting event or concert, with open air stadiums.
Why is open air better for baseball when baseball is the sport thay has the most rain delays? Thay doesn't make sense to me
I’m going to take it you’ve never been there. MetLife is a soulless tin can. And the turf is awful.
@@scottstabbert8498 the problem is you can't host other events in open air stadiums up north from late fall to mid spring, because it gets to cold. So you have that large gap where the stadium sits dorment.
A friend of mine been telling me this for years that the Jets belong in Queens because they used to play in Queens
How's things going with the Jets lease?
They've been talking about doing this for 30 years, it unfortunately,, will never happen. NYC real estate is too much to make it feasible.
One of the reasons it did not fly in Manhattan was the proposed stadium provided for no parking.
I enjoyed this video even though it’s somewhat speculative. I believe there is some truth to this and as a Jets fan who lives on Long Island I would be very happy to only have to drive 45 minutes to a game rather than two hours and then four hours coming home
please do. NYG 4 LIFE.
Yup so right
😂😂😂 never gonna happen
... taxpayers wont vote for it.
Jets definitely wont pay for it
They gonna reup the contract and continue to share.
I do hope this happens. Whether the Jets move to queens or maybe Brooklyn.
If they want to build a new stadium then build it on the old Nassau Coliseum site, convenient to parkways and centrally located for Queens and Long Island residents.
This stadium cost $1 billion to build. Looks like it was built in the 80s
