Crossing type: Automatic Half Barrier Crossing (AHBC)
Filming location: Brasswell, Dumfries (DG1 3JA)
A fairly standard Automatic Half Barrier crossing located just on the edge of Dumfries, Scotland. It's supervised by Dumfries Station signal box and it has two half barriers of differing ages, E2S 'Appello' alarms, and LED wigwags (road traffic lights) that are only a few years old. The level crossing is on a quiet road leading to a farm, and it can be noticed that the alarms deactivate before the lights (rather unusually). A ScotRail Class 156 nearing the end of its short journey from Carlisle can be seen in this video, the first example of any train run by the Train Operating Company I saw and filmed.
Trains featured:
156 511 (ScotRail) - 0:35
2L56 Carlisle ➡ Dumfries | 4 minutes late

Great video! Wonder why only one gate mech there got replaced?
Thank you! I'm not too sure if it's not mid-renewal.
Oh, dear. The recently installed LED wigwags are already looking faded and battered.
Cool video!
Thanks!
