don't get so close to the edge of a cliff! you don't know if it's going to collapse.....stay safe. The solitude of this place - wow! As usual, your videos are unbelievable. I enjoy travelling with you from the comfort of my easy chair.
I second that, a lot of people have died taking selfies on cliffs and even tall building roofs by getting hit with a wind gust. it does happen, stay safe slim.
I was up there this last weekend. I go there frequently. It's amazing to sit on the edge of the rim and watch the sunrise in the morning. Incredibly beautiful.
Thanks so much for correctly pronouncing “Mogollon”. I lived on the rim for several years. You become accustomed to hooking your foot under the car door when you open it. You see cars and trucks with obvious damage from the door swinging wide open and hitting the body in front of the door. What a great place the rim is. It goes from over in NM all the way to the Grand Canyon.
Beautiful photography Sir. I just wish U didn't stand so close to the edge! Yep, U guessed it, height scares the heck out of me. I'd love to be able to go some of the places U have seen, but I'd be very reluctant to drive out on a ridge like that. Love viewing what our God has Created for us to see with our eyes.
Wow, another magnificent video! Beautiful wilderness, heart-stopping views . . . yes, places like these need to be kept peaceful and pristine. Makes one thankful that the roads there are a bit harder to traverse. Your "soaring with the bird" made me soar along with the wind in my heart, too. Thank you for sharing your amazing travels, Mr. Slim. Safe travels and more peaceful adventures . . .
Your FABULOUS presentations take my breath away... I live in Bellingham but in two weeks I am getting in my old class C I just bought and heading down the road. I will be watching your videos again to see which way I want to go. Thank you for your gift you give to so many....
Your videos are always amazing Slim, both visually and with your descriptions of the locations you visit. It's like you are writing a book for those that can't see!. Very well done, so thanks for the great views of this spot, we hope to visit that location - it's on our bucket list!
I like how you braved the snow and faced the winds... same as we learn the lessons of life... I have just found you and I am traveling through your images, we see things the same way, thank you for all the beauty!
Love the combined shot of you and the bird both enjoying the updraft! Your enthusiasm for wind, snow, rain... I am the same. It is lovely to spend time “with” a kindred spirit.
I have watched all your videos and i have to say, i truely enjoy your style. The music, your shots, and the interesting things you have to say. I feel as if you need a PBS show to truely showcase your talents. Keep doing what you do and stay safe.
I truly enjoy your wonderful trips and videos with your A liner. I just bought an old used Chalet A frame camper trailer and can't wait to start my adventures! You are a real inspiration for people like me who are just starting out with our camper/trailer travels. I have so much to learn and your videos have shown me so many things. I love the 2x4 lumber rig you use to help lift the roof of your A liner. My springs are old and I have to lift it with a thick stick! I will continue to support and follow your videos here. Happy trails!
Sitting on a break from building the van that my family and I will be taking on adventures thru the USA, binge watching your videos. This was prolly the best one so far. Truly inspirational Slim. Happy trails, stay safe.
Loved this video. It brought back old memories. As a young man, I spent many hours, exploring the Mogollon Rim country. Back then, in the 60s I would go up by myself and explore I had one of the first Ford Broncos. I almost never used any of the trails that now exist. Instead, I would go in and find an exit point through trees and just start driving towards the rim. Not a wise thing but I was not a wise kid. I would camp overnight, usually on the weekends and remember experiencing the exhilarating feeling of looking out over all the valleys below, and experiencing the almost constant wind at the rim. Thanks for sharing this video it brought back fond memories to an old man, in the reworked words of another, ancient man, “you made my day.”
Thank you for the details and beauty captured in an Mogollon Ridge. My AWD Honda, Casita TT, and my nerve might not be able to go. I'm happy that places such as these still exist. Your narrative about the places you visit always gives me a sense of peace, awe, and respect for mother nature.
Its nice to see places in different states i have never seen.. a few i have and how different things look. Its just mind blowing. The maps also help quite a bit to get a better vision of your journey... thank you for what you do.
When it is safe to have a campfire, the fallen ponderosa cones and needles that you featured together in a ground-level closeup make excellent kindling.
Even if it weren't for my interest in Aliners, you produce the most inspiring videos on RUclips! Love them, and can't wait for your next installment! Thank You!
Thank you so much for your videos. You are by far my favorite person to follow. You always have great ideas for boondocking and I love the places you visit. Please keep up the wonderful work you do and I'll see you on your next video.
The shot of you with your arms outstretched in the wind and the superimposed bird on an updraft has got to be one of the most moving scenes I have seen in a long time. I felt it all. Thank you
What a truly inspiring video. Your respect for where you are and what you see should be emulated by all travelers. The photoshop of the bird flying next to you was a marvelous touch. Can’t wait to visit that place, it’s on the bucket list. Thank you for sharing your travels.
Thank you so much for uploading this adventure. Just like in Australia there are only a percentage of people discovering their own backyard to see how beautiful it is.
You sounded and looked like a hang glider pilot as you talked about how magnificent the birds are as they soar in ridge lift. Then, as you stood on the edge, arms spread, feeling the wind you were just one step away from being a hang glider pilot. You can experience what you were dreaming at that moment. That is what flying hang gliders is all about!
This is your fourth video I have watched today. This is by far my favorite. I have a 2011 forest river version of the a liner. I guess that is the reason I like your videos. I like your scenery/ experiences better than your mods and fixes videos. Thank you for inspiring my future travels.
Slim.... Thank you thank you..... This stuff is GREAT!!!! First off.... You go where no one else does. I just added a new place on my bucket list. Second. I am calling your stuff, National Geographic films meets Disney Nature films from the 1960's. For me, it's like going to the way back machine, only today,.,,,, keep them coming.
Awesome video I've grown up in the Mogollon Rim country and still find new places to see there it is full of a rich history some awesome Lakes and streams and so many boondocking spots I can't even begin to count them then below the Mogollon rim you've got the Verde River a place called Child's that's a pretty rough one to get into with a trailer awesome hot springs there you have to go almost to the town of Camp Verde to go there.
Really wonderful video, such beautiful scenery. Your trailer is perfect for this. We have a very light 13' and also manage the out of the way spots. Seems to me as more and more folks get bigger and bigger rigs, there is actually fewer people in the boonies. Anyway, loved this one. Safe travels. --Mark
Wow! That was quite the campsite and view. I really enjoyed the images of your surroundings. Glad I found your channel - you provide that little bit extra of inspiration that I'm looking for.
Re: "How magnificent it would be to share that uplifting feeling our feathered friends so enjoy."....suggest taking up paragliding, powered or not. Though your afternoon wind is a bit much on the Mogollon Rim in March. Nice vid! Thank you.
Bravo, slim. My favorite place in all the world.thanks for showing it to me again. I grew up in the little town just east of there,Winslow. I spent many happy days hiking and exploring around the rim. There were mature forests thier 55 years ago.
Slim, you're an Albertan, you should be used to the wind! Lol Sure is beautiful country down there. Thanks for the road trip Slim. Another month and I should be away on my own adventure. Can't wait!
Slim, your videos never to fail to inspire. I have an R-Pod and a 2001 Suburban. In a month and a half MY Adventure begins....retirement!! And at 60 yrs young I hope I am blessed with many wonderus(sp) adventures. Maybe see you out there someday!
Nice video I spent my youth hiking and hunting that are with my Dad and brothers heading up there this week from Chandler Az to go Elk hunting thanks for sharing. 👍👊😎
I think you have the best nomad channel out there. I have a shuttle bus that is going to be converted but now you have me thinking about a 4wd and an aliner. I love going way back where few others can reach.
That's a wonderful area, but very windy. You were about 6 weeks early. I've had snow in to May the past 4 years. Just left there last week. Total Forest Closure of the Rim due to fire danger. Tinder fire about 6 miles N. of where you camped burned up 16,000 plus acs and 40 homes 3-4 weeks ago. Much of AZ is under Stage 2 fire restrictions or closed to access. You were fortunate to have access to the Rim that early. Usually the Rim Road doesn't open till early-mid April. 4 years ago I camped out on one of the pennisula's near where you were and had 84mph winds overnight.........Took down dozens of trees and had me seriously worried that my truck camper was going to blow off my truck. 28 degrees early that morning when I got out and dropped my camper jacks. Fun times!.....:) My 1 ton GMC was bucking like a bronco till I got the jacks down.
Hi NWHiker, great info and background. Sad those Ponderosa Pines have taken such a beating with fire so many times. What's it like in the fall? Thanks, SP
I've been there during monsoon season...wow! Its a whole different storm on the Rim than in the Valley. I camped there in the snow last year. Boy does that soil turn into deep, sticky mud when it gets soaked!
That wind wow. I'd say no way in a tent or tent camper. I've done a lot of camping in my life and I still love it. Have you heard people say? Camping is like living if your poor.
First place we ever camped in tents was on the Rim at Woods Canyon Lake. Wasn't quite as built up back then. It was a cool respite from the hot desert of Phoenix...thanks for the video!
IMO, the most beautiful drive in AZ is going west out of Tuscon towards San Diego. Now is a good time as its still late spring and cactus may still be in bloom. More white gravel than dirt so it looks like hundreds of miles of manicured cactus garden.
don't get so close to the edge of a cliff! you don't know if it's going to collapse.....stay safe. The solitude of this place - wow!
As usual, your videos are unbelievable. I enjoy travelling with you from the comfort of my easy chair.

He is safe I have been there over 400 times
Thank you, slim. You took me back to the favorite place of my child hood. I haven't seen it for more than fifty years.Thank you very much.
The Mogollon Rim is my favorite place in Arizona. Glad you got to spend some time there.
I was up there this last weekend. I go there frequently. It's amazing to sit on the edge of the rim and watch the sunrise in the morning. Incredibly beautiful.
Love your close ups of rocks, lichen, pinecones, animals. Your love of nature is obvious! Camera quality, crispness is superb. Thanks.
Slim, I finally made it to Mogollon Rim this weekend. What a great place. Thanks for your videos.

Thank you.
You should be proud of your videos, they are amazing !

A Liner should give you an extra grand for this episode.
I think he should be a designer for A liner
It's like Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom!!! Love your vids Slims keep em comin!!

So beautiful. Holy cow. The WIND blue mountain's majesty. So tranquil. The vista. Thanks for taking me on your journeys.
Amazing imagery that you captured excellently. It is a pleasure to be drawn into your posts.
Great video and the music matches the scenery.
I will not go near those cliffs. Beautiful place and beautiful music. Thank you for all your hard work.

My favorite place...from a native Arizonan.
When it is safe to have a campfire, the fallen ponderosa cones and needles that you featured together in a ground-level closeup make excellent kindling.
What a camping spot on the edge of the Rim. I have family close to there, near Camp Verde, and we love that area. Looking forward to your next video👍🏻
Your vids do a great job bringing viewers along for the adventure. Thx

Beautiful! Nice music also. The Rim is one of the wonderful assets we have in AZ. We can escape the summer heat and camp in the pines.
every single one of your videos is a captivating phenomenon.
I admire and respect you. Wish there were more people like you.
Thank you so much for uploading this adventure. Just like in Australia there are only a percentage of people discovering their own backyard to see how beautiful it is.
Northern AZ is prolly my favorite part of the US!
Very well done vid.
Thanks

Thanks, Slim.
Just wanted to say how much I enjoy your beautiful nature videos.
As a person with vertigo watching you stand on that windy cliff made my stomach flip! OMGosh!

Great idea. It's easy to learn (compared to hang gliding or powered flight) and the gear is very light and compact.
We always enjoy your videos. Stay safe!
Beautiful! Thank you.

Hi Larry, I like Winslow even though I wasn't a big Eagles fan. Easy town to get around and find supplies. So many beautiful places near it too! SP
Slim I really enjoy Ur travel and pic,s. Your photo ability & narration keeps me following U Thanks Hal
Enjoy your videos. Thanks a bunch
3 thumbs up. Beautiful and beautifully made.

Got to be the best video I have seen about FR300! I plan to mountain bike pack the road this summer down from my home in Flagstaff...
that was such a beautiful park!
I think you have the best nomad channel out there. I have a shuttle bus that is going to be converted but now you have me thinking about a 4wd and an aliner. I love going way back where few others can reach.
FR 300 is absolutely beautiful! I sleep there in my Jeep Cherokee occasionally.

There's a spot near the north rim of the Grand Canyon where the wind blew down the forest. Quite a sight!
