I’ve really wanted to go down the funk bass route (specifically Joe dart style) and I’ve heard that most note choices come from the pentatonic scale. This was a brilliant lesson thank you, I’ve got something to practise tomorrow

I've just found a Vantage bass 5 strings, the price is 200€ but the seller said that he can go lower, it's used but not that much. My question is, are vantage's basses good? One of my friend has a semi-acustic guitar by them and it sounds great, but i can't find any informations about their basses, help me please
On either guitar or bass, why don't these guys tell you why they start a scale on the A string sometimes? Maybe it doesn't matter but I always wonder if I am missing out on something.
I think its because some notes can't be reached on the lower strings above, for example; on the E string the C is higher up the neck ( on the 8th fret) so you won't able to start the C minor pentatonic on the E string. The rest of the notes are all conveniently right next to each other on the higher strings so I guess thats why!
@@arjunsrivatsav8246 I think C major is what people learn first on any instruments I have same question is the pentatonic scale shape movable in different Key like major scale does?
@@talkingbasslessons no I mean I know the pentatonic scale doesn't use a 6th but when the C minor scale was played the 6th note was flatted, I thought in a minor only the 3rd and 7th were flat and in a C scale, aside 3rd and 7th, all the other notes would be natural, I meant to say the 6th in a C minor scale

Why isn’t D# used when your moving up the neck using chromatic note sequence when you are showing the C Pentanonic.

Why is the 6th flat if it's a C scale?
Unsure what you mean. The C Minor Pentatonic doesn't have a 6th.

@@ivanbecerril4227 No. Natural Minor scales have a flattened and 3rd, 6th and 7th. Where did you learn that it had a Major 6th?
