Funny how, contrary to popular belief of the "incredible" power of the english and dutch pirates in the Spanish Empire ( all trade routes were controlled by Spain, Spain mantained its empire for 3 centuries nearly intact, only losing meaningless islands to the english and tuch such as Trinidad, or Jamaica. It has always amazed me how Spain, with 10 million inhabitants, mantained such an incredible landmass for such a long period of time. Unmatched by the other european empires, such as the british and french empires, even the portuguese.

The dutchman is in dutch called de vliegende hollander and his captain is called willem van der decken in dutch. In english it is called the flying dutchman (logic) but in english it is also willem van der decken but POTC made it a more known ship and called the Captain davy jones. The original story of the dutchman is that willem went to sea on easter. Look it up on wikipedia.

Henry Avery hit that lottery ship and called it a career... that one haul in todays value is equivalent to 108 million dollars. He lived his life out on a Caribbean Island with a awesome palace and had no enemies. His story is remarkable and one of my favorites. The Rising Sun flag was awesome.

The dutchman is in dutch called de vliegende hollander and his captain is called willem van der decken in dutch. In english it is called the flying dutchman (logic) but in english it is also willem van der decken but POTC made it a more known ship and called the Captain davy jones. The original story of the dutchman is that willem went to sea on easter. Look it up on wikipedia.

Henry Avery hit that lottery ship and called it a career... that one haul in todays value is equivalent to 108 million dollars. He lived his life out on a Caribbean Island with a awesome palace and had no enemies. His story is remarkable and one of my favorites.
